Best wishes, Castle!
I could recount the numerous times you listened and responded to our feedback or cite the different ways you specifically improved things. But after all that I think what stuck in my mind the most is summed up pretty simply.
Thank you for caring about the game as much as we did. -

then trash talked them in an attempt to get a sexy response for his paper
[/ QUOTE ]
Here is the second fundemental problem. The majority of the time after Twixt would attack or TP someone into critters or drones, the players on the recieving end would complain in broadcast then Twixt would respond. Yes Twixt would use broadcast PvP as a method but many of you are making it sound like others were merely innocent, respectful and honorable players who ran around saying GF, GG and nothing else.
[/ QUOTE ]
If this was supposed to be research, he wouldn't deviate from his methods regardless of what other people said in broadcast.
His stated method for examining the response of players to breaching the social norms in RV was to simply "play the zone game as intended". Meaning that all he was interested in doing was capturing the pillboxes using whatever means necessary that were legal in-game.
If he had done that and only that, then maybe it would have a leg to stand on as research. But he muddled his own data by responding to people's comments. (Or do you believe it is impossible for a impartial researcher to not respond to negative comments?)
Now what is it that you can say people were responding to? Was it just that he was playing the game by the rules and they got mad? Or did some of them get mad only after he replied to their complaints?
You see, you can't have it both ways here. Either your study uses one pure method that can't be open to interpretation, or you start responding to disparging comments in-kind and you make your study not just about violating social-norms, but possibly also about how people respond to taunting, which is an entirely subjective thing. (You pretend that it is required to respond to players not saying "GF or GG", it is not, and especially if you are trying to keep your research method clear of any questionable results. If getting a good academic result was the purpose, then you would think having the self-control to not respond to other players taunts would be extremely easy. To respond with taunts is pretty much admitting that it had nothing to do with actual research.)
And finally, the conclusion he is trying to support is that the enforced social norms actually limit the types of gameplay, but there seems to be scant evidence provided other than his personal experience, and absolutely no attempt to explore where social behaviors that have developed in-game have led to more options for gameplay rather than less.
His methods are poor science, his conclusions are unsupported and his willingness to defend them on their merits seems limited to arguing with people who disagree while never providing additional evidence or claims that back up his point.
In that context, it is hard to read this as anything other than emo-nerd-ragequit, dressed up as an academic finding.
(since you demanded answers, I'll expect that you answer every question I've posed here, otherwise it would seem you can't keep to your own standards either.) -

But isnt the new TF/SF a good example of possibly not listening enough? With it being the bulk of i15, I would think it would be quite imperitive that they got it right. Yeah maybe they didnt have enuff time or resources, but in the end, if you want people to love it, youll have to go back and make drastic changes regardless. Which is somthing Im not sure theyre willing/able to do. So were stuck with it like were stuck w/positron. Unless that is, despite the feedback and similarly to pvP, they dont think it needs the drastic change.
Everyone was running ITFs when it came out and still are. I dont really hear any calls for BSFs, and without many changes, I dont think I will.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if you've seen Horatio's (new redname) post about the SF, but there are fixes coming down the line. If they had the option of waiting, I would have urged them to wait until those fixes got in, but there really is no way of knowing what other factors were in play that made them decide to release it as it was. And the fact is that most every TF/SF that has ever gone Live had bugs at release, that's just part of the deal.
And here I'll say that there is something about the SF that it seemed most players agreed should be changed that wasn't. That was the Temp Powers being tied to AT's. I made my feelings known about this aspect as did many others, and there is no denying that consensus opinion was that it was a bad idea.
But, I won't presume to think that the Devs didn't have many knockdown drag-out meetings about that very subject. I don't think tying powers to AT's in a SF is something that would be done lightly, so I wasn't completely surprised that they decided to go with that concept despite the player feedback. This is their full-time job, we're all part-timers at best, and our paycheck doesn't depend on the outcome of these decisions. So at the end of the day, I think it is fair to assume that most of the issues that players bring up have been brought up internally.
[ QUOTE ]
I can't think of one person who thought the new TF's storyline was good.
We ALL had consensus on this. It was ignored. We offered SO many suggestions, quick fixes and the like... ignored.
[/ QUOTE ]
This certianly isn't directed at you, RadDidit or any of the others out there that were testing the TF, but one of the problems in this Beta was that there just weren't that many people testing in general.
For whatever reasons, a lot of the serious testing of the TF didn't get underway until it was very late in the process. At one point the SF feedback thread had about 30 pages of feedback while the TF thread languished at under 10 pages. People stepped up and started planning TF runs and such, but that was only a couple of weeks ago and may have been just a little too late to get changes in before they felt things had to go Live. (There is so much we don't know about what is going on behind the scenes that we're all kind of guessing with most of this stuff.)
But, as this post from our newest redname Horatio (and the person responsible for the SF and TF) indicates, changes are going to come for the story still:
[ QUOTE ]
While I did make some adjustments to the story due to the feedback from the training room, I didnt get all the details nailed down as best I could. Due to a tight translation deadline, I was unable to get final text passes into the build that was going to the Live servers, but rest assured Ill be doing my best to address them over the next week or so to bring the story of Reichsmans return in line with the existing history of the 5th Column.
[/ QUOTE ] -
<QR>
I imagine that sometimes the subjective feedback of the players informs them of a situation they weren't fully aware of and they make changes accordingly. (Witness the massive amount of changes that went into the new SF text that may have only happened because of player feedback)
Other times, like the PvP changes, the subjective feedback might not have as much weight, because they were already expecting some people to not be happy with it. If you were already a "hardcore" PvP'er prior to I-13, well, that is because you liked PvP the way it was basically.
I think it was BaB's who had the basketball court analogy, if you show up with a group of people at a basketball court and then when you get there you find that it is full of potholes and that one of the baskets is missing a backboard, most of the people just up and leave. Some will stay and make a game out of what is there, it might not be basketball in the purest sense, but they might end up liking what they play quite a bit.
But that is no reason to not fix the court. And when you do it is inevitiable that the people who liked the broken court will complain. So, I would guess that going into the PvP changes, negative subjective feedback was to be expected and probably given less weight.
Otherwise, I've particpated in most of the Closed Betas since I-9 and in every singe one of them, without exception, changes have been made that were based completely on player feedback. It is simply untrue to say that the Devs don't listen to feedback, I've seen it with my own eyes too many times to believe that. -

Now, I concur to the above suggestion: We need an Horatio character in game. I imagine a villain that want to appear sophisticated and only speaks through Shakespeare quotes. Bonus point if he mangles them too.

Now see I immediately thought of Horatio Hornblower.

My first thought was "Alger".
I'm not sure what this says about any of us. -

I just hope you guys actually consider raising the merits on the Villain side. Twenty merits for that SF is not enough, seriously. Dragging the patrons through the cave one by one should be worth 20 alone.

We will be increasing the merit award for the Strike Force to 30 merits later this week.

Now that Im more relaxed, cuz I was mad as a hornet last night.
Still borked, period. Hour & Half fight to never see him drop below half & watching him phase & go to full again. This fun how?
Why does redside become forced to have very specialized teams, while blueside can bring whatever, have a costume contest in middle of the fight, while half team is dancing, still win this? Makes no sense(yes bit over top, but folks are calling this the new Katie, gotta be a reason for it)
If this all broken, why was it even released? If folks pointed this out to Devs, bemoaned about it in the Beta, still pile of poo, then why was it released again?
Fact there is a requirement to have specific A.T.'s to make this work, again screws people over, imagine if your on a lower pop server for some reason you can't find a Stalker or a Mastermind or whatever, then how can they have fun doing this?
Why are we forced to have Shivans, Vanguard Robots, "insert random temp power here", to even do this Strikeforce, when said powers are suppose to be optional in this game, then all sudden becomes mandatory? (Sounds like LRSF doesnt it?, which is whole another angry)
At what point does this become a Fun SF? As I stated I enjoyed the first 2-3 mishes(when he woke up, kicked our but in the cut scene) I thought ok that was neat, then it went downhill from there.
All these are valid questions.

[/ QUOTE ]
I think there are some valid things to address, and some of them have already been touched on, such as the fact that most new SF/TF's go live with bugs.
But, I can imagine as disappointed as we were to see the Black Scropion temp power not working correctly, I imagine Castle is 10 times moreso. That power has worked, was broken, his Unbreakable state was messed with, a lot of work went into that specifc power. After all of that to find that the fixes that have been made didn't make it into the patch that went live probably wasn't the highlight of his day.
Also, I agree, required AT's is not a good thing. I'm solidly behind the idea that Human_Being brought up in Beta, to have a pop-up menu when entering the machine where players would pick their Temps. There are lots of cool ways that could be used, unique tactics devised and the ability to adjust to any team make-up on the fly. So, I'm all with you there, especially after the shiny wears off, I imagine this could become even more of a problem on smaller servers.
That said, it isn't entirely AT specifc. Besides the brute-force method of throwing down well-timed nukes, shivans and what have you, I can imagine (with working versions of the Temps) that many different types of teams will be able to complete this, even without having one of the AT-specifc Temps.
For example, 3 doms and 3 corrs working together would be at least as effective as a Stalker in keeping the 5th in line, or might just be a fun way to run the SF period. I'm not saying you still wouldn't need an MM to shutdown his Unbreakable, but that it isn't a case where you absolutely must have 1 Stalker, 2 doms, 3 corrs, 1 MM and a Brute to have a chance at using the "gadgets" well to win the fight.
To me, this isn't intended to be anything like the more recent SF's that were fairly forgiving and didn't require practice, so much as knowing just 1 or 2 tricks. PuG's without a strong leader will have a tough time. If someone hasn't read the forums and doesn't even know where to get the Temp powers from, even with the animation and the text in the story, you might miss it.
To me that is the strength of this encounter, that it has replay value, that it is open to varying strategies (once the temps are working), and that there is a true learning curve and not just waiting for someone to post a guide on how to finish it in 45 minutes.
This defintely isn't for everyone, but I think the variety is good, for me it is fun, but it is a lot more fun in its working state, that is for sure. I'm guessing it won't take too long to see the broken Temps fixed, and then the real fun can begin. -

ABout the only "notice" I've seen is this that Nivieve put up on Firday afternoon. Even in that thread, most of the speculation was that it wasn't that close.
I'm trying to do a Main-to-Test comparison right now. Thing is, I don't recall a update to the test happening over the weekend... 'Cause it's updating as well.
Oh this'll be fun...
THank you for the time...
[/ QUOTE ]
There was a small 4.5M patch to Test on Saturday, myself and a few of the regular crew over on Test all remarked about it.
No patch notes came from it, and the version number didn't change.
But at least we know someone was there this weekend working on getting this ready for... well, today, it would seem.

Boomtown: In your own opinion what will be the main feature of Issue 15?
Matt Miller: I think the villain Strike Force which frees Reichsman is the star of the issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
Given the apparent general opinion of this TF, I'm surprised this statement hasn't been laughed at yet.
Have they tweaked the story to make the PCs seem less like faceless minions? I'm all for a redside taskforce with a 'pay day', but from what I've heard the TF treats you like the gum on the bottom of Lord Recluse's shoe; and I don't see how that would be enjoyable.
[/ QUOTE ]
The story was changed dramatically since the first version and now is getting pretty much rave reviews all around. Combine that with some interesting mechanics and the SF truly is the star of I-15, IMO.
If you are interested in spoilers, someone has posted screenshots of the entire Villain SF in a thread in one of the I-15 sections.
But if you don't want to spoil it, rest assured, the input of the players about the story was taken into account. And what it currently is bears little resemblance to what we first were presented with.
I give it 5 thumbs up and a piece of pie. -

well if people would actually bid we might find out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I'd bid but there is no indication of what you actually get.
Usually when someone thinks of a clever name for someone else, they are the one that ends up getting paid.
Is this complete naming rights? Anything that is o.k. with the forum filter will be the name he posts with for the rest of time? (No switching to posting from a 2nd or 3rd account?)
I'll bid 500mil Infmay if he truly will accept the name of the highest bidder and use it for all his posting.
My guess that is not what the "winner" of this actually recieves. -

If you believe Going Rogue will allow you to switch sides at anytime, and not merely at character creation - then a market merger is inevitable. That is the plain truth, regardless of whether it makes sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
First, even if you can switch at anytime (which I do believe will be the case), it could be that switching is a non-trivial thing to do. In which case it doesn't seem to make a market merger inevitable in any sense.
Even if it was trivial I don't see how it makes it inevitable, they could be just as happy allowing people who want to, the ability to shuttle goods back and forth between the sides, without the need for a full merger. In that scenario a full merger might even be less likely because of Going Rogue instead of more likely.
But, since none of us really knows right now... it's fun to speculate. -

(On a personal note, I find this whole thing kind of funny, didn't I suggest this like 1 1/2 years ago?)
[/ QUOTE ]
I could be unclear on which thing you mean, but I attribute my 1st recollection of a conversion rate to Arcanaville in one of the 1st big discussions/arguments in here on whether/why/how to merge the markets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, and I'm pretty sure that was in a thread I started called "Market Merger Madness" where I laid out a plan to add a 3rd market access point with a market-based Infamy/Influence exchange (I suggested the creation of a new Inspiration as the medium of exchange only as it would seem to require less coding), I actually still have the OP from that thread on another computer from when I was typing it up.
But really, it is neither here nor there. I wholly support a 3rd access point that would allow people to buy from the other side, in the other sides currency and allowed players to determine the currency exchange rate through Inf trades made on that market. You would still be limited to listing your items on your own faction's market, as this would keep the markets as they are mostly intact.
The purpose would be to take care of the most egregious differences between the two markets, while not destorying either of them. Market players get another niche, and most people can just be completely oblivious to it and just benefit from the goods moved around by the marketeers.
Of course, a lot of has changed in the last couple of years, Infamy/Influence disparity has shrunk (althought according to Posi, hasn't completely disappeared), but it still seems like a fairly good idea to me that really doesn't have a lot of downside.
But in the meantime, I think that market interface improvements aimed at helping people who are casual users of the market might be development time better spent. Since the arrival of tickets, it is pretty rare to find things that are just not possible to buy at the Black Market. The stuff I mentioned in the previous post I would say would do more to bring items to market and keep prices down than adding a way to move goods between markets.
Information is what most people are lacking, it is the domain of those who constantly follow the markets. It wouldn't give those people any more of an advantage than they already have, but someone who just wants to put their stuff up there for a "fair" price and not feel like they were getting ripped off when they see if sell for double what they listed it for, would benefit greatly from more information about the price history beyond the last 5.
Well, fun trip down memory lane, I don't expect this thread to turn out much different than any of the previous market merger threads, but hey, ya never know... -
[ QUOTE ]
I think a conversion rate would probably be a wiser course. When you pay X on the opposite market, it looks to the seller like X*C, where C is the conversion rate from your inf to theirs. This won't change the fluctuations that would result from supply and demand shifts, but it will damp the changes in currency value.
The downside to a conversion rate is all in the implementation. My feeling is that I would not trust it to an algorithm, but I'm also not sure I trust the devs to appropriately maintain it "manually".
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is why, IMO making the Infamy to Influence conversion market based, besides creating a new niche for market people, would be the best route to go. No need for different fees for Villains and Heroes then, and by charging say, only 5% on Inf for Inf transactions, you would create a new Inf sink that would probably see decent use.
(On a personal note, I find this whole thing kind of funny, didn't I suggest this like 1 1/2 years ago?)
I still think some sort of third market access point, with a currency exchange, is the best solution. It preserves the identity of each market as being somewhat seperate, creates a new niche, and overcomes what has consistently been (regardless of whether people want to believe it or not) the #1 Dev objection to an outright merger.
It doesn't need to take care off all cases, in our modern Inf economy it really doesn't matter if Alchemical Silvers pop to 50k for a day. Arbitrage between the markets would just take care of the worst discrepancies, which is probably more than enough to make it worth doing. (standard code rant)
Of course, I'd rather see a lot of other changes to the market implemented too, as I haven't been a fan of the double-blind auction system since I-9 Beta. And if it must remain, giving people who are casual market users more data about price history would go a long way towards leveling the playing field.
Currently, people who study the market, essentially have all this data, and on the items they actively trade, they usually also more or less know the exact best Bid and best Offer for those particular items. A 15 day Moving Average of prices, or mulitple Moving Averages to choose from (Like a 15 and a 5 day), would make it easier for casual users to feel comfortable pricing their items.
The added information alone would probably have the effect of lowering prices across the board. (I would say it is currently almost too easy to make Inf on the markets, as most people don't actually have a good frame of reference for what their stuff is worth which leads them to underprice and overpay too often)
So, I'd like to see a way to move goods between the markets that was implemented at the same time as a general update to the interface with improvements to make it more accessible to the average player. (I'd stop short of full transparency, and maybe show the best bid and best offer only up to the nearest million Inf. Someone looking at a Recipe might see that it is 2,XXX,XXX bid at 3,XXX,XXX offer)
/My 2 Infamy or 2.5 Influence, take your pick. -

Check Wentworths and the Black Market. There are obsessive collectors who must have one of everything, especially once they're not in mass production anymore. Some of the rarer Base Salvage are worth some decent Inf.
[/ QUOTE ]
This!
As an obsessive Base Salvage collector myself I can confirm that there is quite a bit of interest to pay way too much Infamy for some very rare items.
If you are redside and you have any of the following I can promise that there are as of this writing bids of at least 15-20mil Inf for the following items on the Black Market:
Broken Mask
Pumpkin Bomb
Meat Cleaver
So before you convert anything into 15,000 Inf Brainstorms, make sure you aren't throwing out a 20,000,000 Inf item. (Not to mention that I've seen some pieces of Base Salvage go for many mulitples of this)

[/ QUOTE ]
Funny, you got posts modded, a warning and you had to ignore people.
I'm sure it had nothing to do with you though, you must have been 100% in the right.

I would double and triple check that, I just performed a succesful respec on Test after reading this.
No mapserver, no DC and I can confirm that the respec took, as I made sure to take some powers I hadn't had before the respec.
I did mine at an Arbiter, specifically in Port Oakes and I didn't sell back any enhancements. If you are able to reproduce the bug, make sure to include all the steps that you took. (stuff like which arbiter or if it was a /respec, did you sell back enhancements or not)
And I'd agree, I:15 Bugs section would be the best place to post about it if you can reproduce it.
Hope that helps! -

PS - The argument over the definition about "direct" and "directly" was a waste of everyone's time and bandwidth.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, that is part of the funny.
The person who tried to claim that the Devs were never directly adressed in the OP, is now using the idea that they must have known about this as part of their central argument for why it is important.
Or perhaps there is yet another fine spin someone would like to put on that.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't attribute too much to it.
I appreciate Smurphy's thought and effort. But if I was a dev and I had a speed limit I didn't want anyone to know about, then I probably wouldn't post it and I probably would avoid becoming a datapoint in Smurphy's experiment.
In other words, we can't really tell if they experiment failed to trigger the RED ALERT siren or if they simply chose to ignore it.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
Now, people will hand wave it away. Or try and turn around and say it proves something about the Devs.
All it proves is they wouldn't be suckered into playing this little game, or that they don't care about people triple-boxing 1-50, or they're more concerned with it becoming a mass activity that any individual character can perform by themselves.
There's lots of things that this "experiment" could prove, which is why it a poorly designed experiment if that is what it is supposed to be. It purports to take data on its subjects by reading their minds.
Sounds like science to me. -
[ QUOTE ]
To bring this back towards a market perspective, is it worth trying for lower level pvp recipes? I know you can get them as low as 10...the uniques would be great that low, but the regular set ones would be a waste. From a time spent::inf made perspective, is it worth trying for low ones, say 25-35?
[/ QUOTE ]
Since the PvP recipes act just as Purples for the purposes of Exemping, except for being able to slot things earlier there is no added value to lower level versions.
This includes the Uniques and all Set Bonuses. This has been tested and confirmed. Slotting a PvP set lets you retain any bonuses all the way down to Level 1 even if a power isn't available.
So, Level 50's are worth much more in general than lower levels, even more than with regular Recipes. -

And maybe that is the best point of all, if he can't do it outside of MA, then maybe that shows why MA has to be treated differently than normal content when looking at the potential for abuse through farming.
I guess he proved something afterall.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to disagree with you on this. If he had of kept to the stated intention of pushing what can be done without exploits this would have been a very interesting thing. He would have shown a fundamental hypocrissy on the part of the developers and that things are alright for some people in the game and not all.
He failed in the first and now he has just reduced it to a PL service. Its as if the revolutionaries at the Boston Tea Party decided not to throw the tea overboard, and rob the ships and the nearby warehouses as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your analogy is better.
And yes, I agree if he had actually done what he said he was going to do, it would have shown something about the system.
I think a much better challange (and one that will get him his required Inf from off-market sources), would be to allow people to bid to build the mission he has to level to 50 in. (with the stipulation it has to be a large farmable map of bosses)
So, I'll throw out an offer of 500mil Inf to build the enemies and then tag along as I watch how fast he levels to 50. As long as he brings the characters mentioned in his results post, I'm quite confident that he won't make it to 50 in 6 hours. -

Your quote there does not show maturity to me but an immature need of self aggrandizement.
[/ QUOTE ]
The amount of funny in this is amazing.
Think about the OP of this thread, this is all about seeking attention. He even deluded himself to the point that he believes that the Devs would be reading and interacting with him based on his plans.
[ QUOTE ]
I am sure that the NCSoft employees would kindly notify me if such plans are for some reason deemed "not allowed". I am also sure that NCSoft employees would be able to kindly explain to me exactly what part of my plan needs to be corrected. I WILL be fighting the most difficult City of Heroes has to offer me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh and look, another mention about how he WILL be fighting the most difficult enemies in COH.
These were not the most difficult. Period.
If you believe a /Fire Brute fighting bosses that only do Fire damage is the most difficult challange....
Well I have no idea what to say to that.
The motivation behind this thread is completely obvious to most who read it. Some might be confused and think that he actually did do what the title suggests. Obviously this was not the case.
My image of people still fighting the Great MA War of '09 is like the stories of Japanese soliders found in the jungle 20 years after WWII ended. Whatever point is trying to be proved here. It doesn't matter. The war is over.
As Uber mentioned earlier, when it was announced that the OP would systematically determine what part of his mission was breaking the rules, that it is a lost cause. The "one" thing that will need to be fixed is the leveling speed or to not do it in MA.
And maybe that is the best point of all, if he can't do it outside of MA, then maybe that shows why MA has to be treated differently than normal content when looking at the potential for abuse through farming.

2. Jojo did mention he died several times. Your selective quoting of him ignored that as well as several other points so either you are deliberately ignorning it or you only see what you want to see.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please show the several other points, as for him dying, it doesn't disprove the fact that this wasn't the toughest challange you could set up for a /Fire Brute.
It was indeed a map spawned of bosses that would be easiest for a /Fire Brute to face. That doesn't mean you can't die doing it, but that it isn't in any way, shape or form, the hardest challange he could come up with.
And really, what does it mean when someone uses their ignore list, then runs around telling other people that they shouldn't quote the person they've ignored.
Who exactly is obsessed here?
My only obessession is to point out to people who might be reading that the OP didn't do what he said he set out to do in his thread.
I go literally weeks on end without feeling the need to comment on anything anyone in this section has said. To categorize that as obsession, when those same posters seem to bring my name up just as often seems disingenuous at best.
I've seen multiple occasions where these people you claim I'm obessessed with bring me up without my having said anything in the thread or even the section for days or weeks. That never seems to be an issue with you, odd.
(And funny, I guess you just choose not to quote me, not because you don't want to be shunned by the people you mentioned admonishing you before, I'm sure you were just trying to save space.) -

But to each their own, some people only function well while being a follower. Even if their leader is a moron. -

I'm just wondering when this changed from "facing the Toughest in COH" to "Facing an enemy tuned for me to beat easier than other enemies I could have built"?
Not that I'm surprised...

Link please. That's not what I can find in Smurphy's post. Unless you are talking about Keep's and my posts.

Ok, just in case you stop quivering in fear because someone told you not to quote me, here's the evidence you were looking for that this isn't what it claimed to be.
1. The title of the thread says he will be facing the "Toughest in COH"
2. A quote from the OP:
[ QUOTE ]
I want challenge. I want difficulty. I want to fight the hardest and most ridiculous mission possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
3. More quotes from what he actually did:
[ QUOTE ]
The method I used involved fighting on a Mission Architect map spawned entirely with Fire damage bosses.
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
...on my SS/Fire Brute.

Now, if you have the guts to speak for yourself instead of doing what others tell you to do. In what world is a /Fire Brute fighting all Fire damage dealing enemies fighting the toughest most difficult challange out there?
Anyone happen to know the Fire resistance for a /Fire brute without even slotting enhancements?
All I have said is that he didn't do what he said he was going to do. Which is par for the course as far as I can tell. My guess being that he tried doing it with harder things and failed miserably.
Does someone want to argue that Fire dealing bosses were the hardest most difficult challange he could come up with? If so that shows either an amazing lack of knowledge about the game or that it was never the intention of this thread. (2 Fire Resist toggles and 1 Fire resist auto power, yeah, I can see why this was the most difficult challange one could come up with for a /Fire brute)
And the funniest part is. You have people now debating about how one might theortically fix the problem that the OP doesn't see as a problem, but rather a chance to exploit something in the game for his advantage. (In this case he wants to PL people for Inf, which is kind of an odd thing for someone who is such a market-guru to be doing. As far as I can tell anyone who is even making half an effort at marketing has Inf coming out of their ears and really doesn't need any more)
But continue to think that your hero is doing something special, when his own quotes show that not to be the case.
