As an aside; I've always thought that the global channels have an excellent chance at teaching people who are willing to learn because they provide a location to ask questions and get responses from multiple players who have experience. Though personally I think it is off topic when it occurs in BMT, it would be nice to have a channel dedicated to questions/answers regarding game mechanics, and would be easy to have a loose affiliation of players without loyalty to any one (or few) groups or even red/blue side of the game. I suppose that is what the Help channel is for, though few seem to use it on a regular basis.
Lucifus Mephisto is right about ppl that have been playing for a while. They just might need more information. teaming with them and giving advice is when you can. maybe even point them to the forums, there are a lot of great build guides and helpfull inforamtion as well.
Tanker tuesday is a great way to get tanking help.

Long story short, I think teaming is the best tool. I don't think any sort of training program or advanced tutorial is going to be something that anyone would be interested in because it takes away from what they pay their $15 a month for: Playing the game, having fun, etc.
I think a form of this could work, so long as it isn't set in a "learning or training environment". Just team with people and kindly let them know that they should not have six-slotted flurry or that it's not very beneficial to their character to have 3 travel powers and stealth when they could have picked up something from their primary/secondary that would far more enhance the character's survivability/usefulness. If they don't want to listen, then they must be having fun with what they have and that's what they wanna do.

Stalkers are ment to run so they can rehide. Few reasons better defensive and chance to hit you with a critical. Even Bill Nye the science guy would understand this. Maybe my Stalker or my Northern Star (blaster) which is a beast.
On a side note towards this thread. The guild/super/villain group should be responsable for teaching the nubs the ropes. I mean there the ones in most case the fault for PLing them. They should ask questions in broadcast or members in there SG. What we do in my VG.. I randomly do a TF, or badge hunting and etc. I created a PVP built for Dazmin Brute. I have my members come help in RV even though they are still fresh around the collar. Its a great thought but I think you should worry about your members.

elf wouldnt leave me alone, killed me 3xs before i finally left. There were probably 10 or so people in there and kept comin after the easy kill.

Again, like it's been said over and over again...if you care to contribute, you are more than welcome and thanked! We totally appreciate all input from experience players and newbie players...it's a tool to be used not forced. To the people who don't want to contribute...that's okay too. Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything. it was merely offered.
its been successful for the few days it's been active. Several vet players and new players alike. Asking questions about power sets they aren't familiar with. Pros and Cons of PvP. even task forces and trial information so thank you all who have offered up advice. We genuinely thank you.

People who pvp understand the risk involved...the character you thought was invincible in PvE isnt that way when it comes to RV. All understand though, it's just a game. I pvp with Fight Song mostly and just like I've cracked your skull and you power slid into the villian base...you've also killed Fight....am I mad? no way....Just understand its a game and things happen that you may or may not have been a privy to see. I saw that fight between Braije and that other guy, can't remember his name...There were circumstances that didn't jive with the agreed terms of the match. THAT was what happened...Your heresay and gossip is just funny. I'd recommend getting all the facts because there are two sides to every story. You'll learn that as you mature....I hope...

I need help because I'm a terrible player. I've done nothing but get PLed to 50 and am now a nub that doesn't know how to play his characters. What are enhancements? Are they like steroids? I don't want to get banned for 50 missions.

This is a fitting name for me due to the fact that I am commonly called a giant [censored] who [censored] [censored] [censored] goats. It has also been described as a [censored] penguin. That now gives me the mental image of a penguin dancing to mariachi music swinging his [censored] around. I'm betting that wasn't the intended mental image.

Cause The last time I checked, if you took a trip into a "PVP ZONE" a big warning pops up that roughly says " WARNING: you take your [censored] in here, prepare to have your [censored] attacked" Now it might not say that EXACTLY... This thread is losing it's focus. We need to concentrate on the bad players and how to make the lulz stop.
They need to become like the rest of us uptight, particular players who nitpick other people's builds and playstyles until they either become just like us or are labeled a terminally bad player.

of the 10 or so people there, including vills, ALL standing around under the statue, talking, having 1 on 1 fights.. discussing builds and set enhancements.. bla bla.. i had been in there for a while when i was A/S.. even the vils that where in there at the time said it wasnt cool that we were all talking.
thats why i was/went in there
so, uh, ya, silly me.
lesson learned.
I learned all that I know about Tanking by going to Tanker Tuesdays. I did that on purpose. I wanted to understand the role and capabilities of Tankers better. I may not be one of the premier Tankers on the server, but I think that I got a lot better on my way to 50, and certainly understand things well enough to team.
Personally, I'm in favor of helping people get to know the game better, in whatever way works for them. If they end up attaching themselves to the SG that taught them, that's just natural.
