Best Boss Killer?
For a boss killer anything will work, just pick what you find fun. Spines will be the worst ST DPS. Fire and Dark are generally considered the best.
If you're not wanting to spend a bunch of influence, I think fire would probably be the number one choice.
Any and All scrappers. That is their job to take down the Boss As MunkiLorad say the worst one would be Spines because it as a lot of AoE but other then that any will do.
I'm currently running a fire/shield loaded with all manner of +dmg set bonuses. He finds deep fried bosses taste best with ranch dressing.

I made a DM/SR just for hard targets and it simply chews right through them. Does the same for AVs too just takes longer
The best boss killer is a scrapper.
You could put powersets on a dartboard and pick them that way and come up with something that will do the job well. That's pretty much what the entire AT was designed to do.

I am currently leveling a DM/SD Scrapper and she's at level 44. I took body mastery as my epic for Focused Accuracy and I think I created a killing machine. It's very rare that she ever misses a target and with attacks that enhance End and Hit Points by sapping HP from the enemy she's awesome.
Realistically though everyone is right.... Name the powersets and you have a boss killer.

My claw/regen is excellent in taking down bosses as I keep them juggled with Focus and Air Superiority. Half the time they can't even attack.

While technically true, it is irrelevant because he wasn't asking about stalkers. I happen to agree that my stalker is better at killing bosses than my scrapper is. But since he was asking specifically about scrappers I didn't mention it.
All I was trying to say is it doesn't really matter what powersets he chooses, any scrapper will do the job just about equally well.

I'd say go with Fire/SR because fire has the best secondary, death!

I have a Elec armor Stalker and he does just fine thank you, just as good as my Scrappers do.
Which would be worse than the rest of the stalkers? IE: the original point of the "fix" was to put stalkers, excepting Electric Armor, above Scrappers? HA! I like it, good work sir. /em salute
I'd say DM/Shield blows away a stalker. They *might* be able to get through one faster. But the next five? Not happening.
For sheer DPS I'd personally say claws. I don't find bosses troublesome, in fact sometimes I don't even realize I'm fighting a boss. I just slaughter them all. While claws does have some niiice aoe, it's more single target then some would lead you to believe.

I'm going to say Fire or Dark Melee. Bosses very often have at least one high resistance, chances are it's going to be smashing or lethal. So there's an edge, the single target attacks are strong on both.
That said, all scrappers are excellent at handling bosses... with the exception of spines, so pick whatever works for your concept.
Except for spines.

Apparently DM is the favorite here, although i might just hack the system to get Stalker hero side :-p
Anything aside from Spines.

Bosses have a decent amount of HP, but enough to warrant a DPS vs Burst argument? I don't know. I'd go with Fire for a boss killer. Very good burst and DPS and a decent damage type that won't be resisted as much as the swords or claws.
I'll give some love to Spines for taking on bosses, rather than a boss.
Assuming this is for some sort of boss farm build, if you are taking on bosses, Spines is worth at least two glances.
I'm looking for a scrapper that is designed to take on bosses, and that is pretty much it. Not necessarily AVs, but bosses on teams (I guess I should say this is my concept for a team scrapper). Any ideas on powersets? I am but a low life defender transfer :-p
