I'll go in order I experienced the new issue.
The New DA: I think it looks neat. The fact I can solo and get a few incarnate drops is nice. New critter groups look fine. Got to the War Walls... wow, pretty cool looking. Then, I got to the Moth Cemetery. Stunning and gross. I loved it. so far, so good.
DD Trial: Easily my new favorite. I am a big fan of BAF. Lam, so-so (I hate the lag of the warehouse). I tried and fell in love with MoM. TPN, I hate. UG is alright. But, DD is just flat out awesome start to finish. It feels epic. Looks awesome. Challenge is present, but not all too hard.
New DA story arcs: If DD Trial didn't win me over, these did. I'm currently on the Dream Doctor story arc, so I've played through several of them now. Without spoiling too much, I'll say that it's nice to see Blue Steel and it's pretty awesome to get to fight the tradition Kraken sea monster. The new maps are very impressive. To top it all off, you get to be +3 in these missions and earn incarnate drops/xp. So awesome!
Now, for what I haven't explored.
Dark Control: Looked at the set and its animations. Looks good bother functionally and aesthetically. I can't say much beyond that since I haven't touched it otherwise.
New low level arc: Haven't played it. No opinion.
BB trial: DFB for 15+? Sounds good to me.
AT buffs: Read the notes. Sounds wonderful. -
Quote:And this out weighs undermining 4 whole zones, the various arenas in the game, and an aspect of the game that used to be thriving?Issue 13 introduced Day Jobs, Merit Rewards, Level Pacts, and Multiple Builds, which are pretty frikken awesome IMO. It also restructured supergroup base pricing (and got rid of the use of base salvage) and added some invention sets.
Since the vast majority of the game doesn't PVP, that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Let it be known that a vast majority of the game doesn't PvP, likely in large part due to i13's crippling of PvP. :|
Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong... -
Temporarily remove the Gas Chance for BU when looking at your totals since you won't have that proc-ing anywhere nearly constantly. You'll see that you only have a +10% damage bonus. Base damage is low for us soldiers anyways, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
This first thing I noticed was that you could drop Mako's Bite for Touch of Death have have both your Melee and Ranged Soft Capped.
I didn't go into further detail, because personally, I would have built totally different, but I'm just assuming you have you reasons for power selection. -
I'm sorry to hear that, sir.

Bowing out at the last minute. RL is likely to get in the way.
-
-- What are your global handles/recognizable names? @The Cleansing or T. Hayes
-- What are the Names/Sets/ATs of the toons that you are going to use?
1) T. Hayes - Soldier
2) T. Hayes - Soldier
3) T. Hayes - Soldier
Yes... same toon. THRICE!! -
Did the devs ever change the thing where Crab legs would show up on alternate builds that didn't use them?
-
Was it taken into account that the Alpha slot won't enhance Domination since it only ehances powers that can accept recharge enhancements? At least thats the info I've been working off of with alpha slots.
-
I was curious... If I put the chance to STUN proc in speed boost... would I have a chane to stun my teammates? Just an amusing idea.

Thank you for the responses and constructive feed back.
It looks like my choice is obvious. -
So, with LS working off of Range Damage IO's... if I slot the Devastation: Chance for Hold, will it actually work? Those who have used this (assuming it works), how did you feel about the results?
-
My experience is that more than half the time people don't wait.
I'm not using those puny arrow attacks Ninja has to offer. Pffttt... Repulsion Bomb as my opener, then Electric Fences and Thunder Strike (w/ Armageddon Proc). -
Quote:Well, Mids shows Demon Prince can take hold set. There is absolutely no reason why Oni can't/shouldn't. Oni needs a lot more damage than Prince!
In fact, if you compare the two, Oni still has a lot of room for improvement. Prince would cycle every power at melee range while Oni can't if he draws his sword out. The only thing Oni has over Prince is Rain of Fire and other than that, Prince > Oni any day and any way! Rain of Fire on Oni is hit or miss because the target is dead, the rain stops.
I've PMed Castle about Oni's knockback set a while ago and he knows about it. He just doesn't have time to fix it yet.
Has anyone put hold procs in Prince yet? Good result? One good thing about proc damage in Boss Pet is that the proc damage is HIGHER than yours because they are considered "higher level" than you are. :P
Yup. Been that was for a while I've heard. I'm not sure I would go for it though. Oni only has Char as a hold power, so the only time I would get the proc going is when he's using that one power.
Boss pets Con yellow, but they are always the same level as you. Sounds like it's time for an experiment. -
Thank you Nalrok_AthZim. You seem to understand perfectly.
Brakner, I THINK you may have missed the part in my saying that my play style is that of a Tankermind. I usually keep a tight leash on my pets. I have a follow button very handy (alt+1 for me) that I press very regularly. Now, there are times when we will get something extra. The lab room that starts with a ramp and a little uprise that holds 2 groups comes to mind. In that case, I have a few soft control tools I can use to help out. Henchmen might drop (but good thing I have the end to re-summon).
I do know what you're getting at though. This could have easily been the case of that second MM on the team I spoke of days ago. -

Quote:Not on lifts.I have just discovered that if you level in a mission and then zone your pets autolevel as well. I guess it is a nice thing about the resummon-on-zone system. Does it work with lifts as well?
Another neat little trick:
If you have even one pet trained (say all the others died) and you re-summon the fallen pets before zoning, the newly summoned pets will become trained upon zoning or entering/exiting a mission.
Shhh!!! Don't tell anyone. -
This should only proc on the pet's powers that do KB I believe.
WIA= Working as intended
PPP= Patron Power Pool
APP= Ancillary Power Pool
A better damage proc for a pet that does more melee is a melee set damage proc. Ranged pets= Range set damage proc.
In my opinion, the Build Up in Soul Bound (purple set) might be the best bet for one of your pets. I'm about 75% sure that it causes them to proc a build-up effect for themselves upon attack. -
I'm kinda surprised this is still going.
I felt the urge to give a little update to my experiences.
I have continued to go on with my play style. I give buff where it's needed. Team does bad, then hand out some buffs. I respec'd and picked up Provoke after deciding that someone's advice in a guide I read wasn't for me.
I was on a team a few nights ago when I was doing my Tankermind thing full time. Without stretching the story, we had no deaths until after 4 missions. In that mission, the team acquired not 1, but 2 tanks. I took a break to grab some enhancement for my new level (47). Upon returning to the mission, I found nearly everyone acquainting themselves with the floor. The team regrouped. I chose NOT to hand out buffs. Returned to what I was doing on the team and, what do you know, things went smoothly again. Two bad tanks? Perhaps. It felt nice knowing I could handle +4 Arachnos and Carnies though. Team effort though. Can't write off the people I'm taking point for.
To respond to a few posters:
-When a troublesome blaster dies and a tank is tanking, is it the tank's fault that the blaster died? I won't take responsibility for another MM that can't control itself.
-If I'm playing with a Tank/Brute. I'll let them charge ahead at first and get a read on them. Then, I'll charge in with them. If they move too slow for me, I'll take point. If they have a problem with it, I would probably revert to the previous step. Haven't had that yet though.
-My play style has me attacking and re-summoning/training somewhat often. When running 6 toggles (Yes, I have stamina and I slot for END), sometimes the END is low and I don't have blues to spare. I usually keep them for my re-summons when things go bad for my ninja comrades. All in all though, it really comes back to my play style. I'm not going to min/max when it's not needed.
On a final note, I've done some low level TF. Low enough where I'm not equipped to tank as well as I would normally. In this instance, I did put myself in a more supportive role. -
My question is, what alignments can choose PPP? I've seen toons with them on Hero side (the toon also being of Hero Alignment). My guess is that they had the pool and became a hero. I'm curious if I have to become full Villain or if I can become a Vigilante and pick the pool on a respec. Anyone know?
-
3% is not that big a deal in terms of damage. I terms of defense? Way more bang for your buck.
-
Check in the effect section. I'm pretty PF is the better of the two.
-
More raging plz. Sounds like Tank envy, Nalrok_AthZim.
You know, the funny thing is, I haven't had a single tank or brute complain about me being in melee with them. I guess they like my big bubble or leaderships or something. IDK. Confuses the hell out of me...
