Lightning Storm and IO's

So, with LS working off of Range Damage IO's... if I slot the Devastation: Chance for Hold, will it actually work? Those who have used this (assuming it works), how did you feel about the results?

Yes, it does. I have seen it in play.

I don't have a Stormie of my own, so I can't really answer, but it was entertaining to watch.

Yes it works, and works well, i have a storm/ice defender. With 3 holds (including APP) and extra devastation procs in most attacks + lockdown in holds i can hold mostly anything. And lightning storm is a real big part of it at times.

It works, and it's very worthwhile. My Storm/Elec has it, my wife's Ill/Storm has it, and so does two or three other people I know of with Storm characters. The big bonus is that Lightning Storm's strike is actually a very small AoE. So you CAN get multiple targets with it. The hold proc in LS is probably the best thing you can slap in there.

Thank you for the responses and constructive feed back.

It looks like my choice is obvious.

I actually skipped it on my stormy, the reason being that the hold will only work on minions. Anything that could be held by the lightning strike will probably not live long enough to make it worth noting anyway, and because of the unreliability of the proc, it's unlikely to be able to self-stack and clamp down anything worthwhile.

However, my stormy is a merc/storm mastermind, so I had nothing that the Devastation hold could stack with, and I also wanted to make sure that I had its recharge and damage maxed out. I went with frankenslotting for damage and recharge, the Force Feedback: Chance for Smashing proc, and an endurance reduction.
