First I was in EndMod Club, and we did NOT TALK about EndMod Club.
Then I was in the Luck Charmer conspiracy, and we actually didn't talk about the Luck Charmer conspiracy until afterwards.

This new conspiracy, man, I want in. When I was your age, we shot Kennedy. Not John, Robert. No, not John-John. PRESIDENT John... oh I give up.

Isn't the Friends and Family program the thing that lets the devs invite their CoH-playing friends and family to beta test before the closed beta invites go out?

I remember one of the devs mentioning something along those lines way back.

What does that have to do with Wentworths?

As far as the conspiracy theories go: I've been hit by every market lag/bug/issue out there. But not recently. Why? Because I'm slow, careful, and double check EVERYTHING before I click "submit", and then wait long enough for any lag or other delays to catch up.

And if the devs really had a "friends and family" program that let people line jump, buy under asking price or whatever, why would they go to that much difficulty to implement it, instead of just giving them a temp power that spawns a magic vendor that sells everything in the game for 1? Seems to me that would be easier to code.

Yep. Basically the first small scale testing for the office and a few others. Normally lasts just a couple of days.

So I decided I want to make lots of money. I've read flipping salvage helps out in the start and I had about 30 million left over on my TF toon. So I picked about 2 pieces of rare, looked at the most recent transactions, and bought 10 of each, for what I thought was reasonable then placed them back on for what I saw was the highest going rate. So then I come back and...the last few transactions were selling less than what I paid!!!!!!! Damn fickle market!

Should I stick it out or cut my loses and repost? (its been 3 days) On a stack of 10, what would be a reasonable amount of profit per piece? Is it a slow steady increase that slowly builds up?

Also, I put some Pounding Slugfests up there as well, crafted and no ones buying! Also posted for the going rate. (so go buy them!)

Bonus question: Im going to buy a Numina Unique with Merits and post it to get myself some more starting money, what level would fetch the highest price? (Im assuming 50?)

[/ QUOTE ]

make sure to check how many are buying and selling. if it shows that people are bidding, and there are some of whatever it is that you are selling, you can be sure that they are not bidding at the high price. try taking off %25 of whatever the high bid is and see how that goes.

Careful and slow does not explain having something listed for weeks and seeing it sell for less than I was asking. This happen 2 times for the same item.

Are you saying that you offered to buy something for price X, and it sold for less than X after you put the bid up?

Or are you saying that you offered to sell something for price X, and a different one sold for less than X after you put the item up?

Or are you saying that you offered to sell something for price X, and YOUR ITEM sold for less than price X?

Ok miss spoke, this happened a while ago.
I offered to sell item X and it sold for more than I offered it, twice during the month or so that I had it listed. So I ended up just selling for a price about half of what they were going for just to get rid of it, knowing by then that the system is rigged.

Thanks for pointing out that the other post made no sense the way I said it.

Bubba lists kinetic weapon for 50 influence.
You list kinetic weapon for 10,000 influence.
There are only two for sale.

The Pope bids 20,000 influence for kinetic weapon. Bubba gets the sale for twice what you were asking.

That is how the bid system is intended to operate. Unless you know that there were no items listed below your price, seeing sales for more than what you're asking isn't an error at all.

Conspiracy!

No, it's supposed the sell the lowest priced item. When you put something up for sale at a lower price, it's because you want to sell it before the higher priced items.

What good would it do to put it up for a high price? By your reasoning I should have put up for 2 or 3 times what others were selling for so it would sell fast.

couldn't have anything to do with the fact that someone put their's up for less than what you had your listed for. heaven forbid that that makes sense. dont list your item for the average of what you see. list it for just under the lowest price as that will usually be the next in line price that goes.

Wow, very good point, hadn't thought of that situation.
I see how it could have sold for more to someone who had it up for less, it would be nice to get 20,000 when your asking price is 50.

I do that constantly when I'm grinding common IOs for my crafting badges. Put it up for 10, sells right away for 150k. Happens all the time.

Wait, does that mean you no longer think that there is a "friends and family" program at the consignment shops? Cause I was getting ready to try to be really good buddies with some of the movers and shakers of this forum.

I don't really care about making a killing in the market, I just want to have friends, and wanted to get with the program.

Note that sometimes you put it up for 10 and it sells for 10. Someone had a screenshot of a very painful list of "last 5 sales".
Something like this, don't remember the details:
<font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>
20,000,000
18,000,001
20,000,000
10,000
20,000,000
</pre><hr />
I put something up for like 30 million once and it sold for 45 million. Not an instasale (where someone bids 45 million because they want the VERY NEXT ONE SOLD), but someone started their bidding at 45M. The relevant points here are two:
1) Some people pay way more than they have to for things, and
2) I woulda been happy if I got 30 million for it.
