Energy Transfer Animation Fix
That's the thing, EM still has absolutely insane single-target DPS, stacking hard control that's universal across multiple attacks, and runs split damage weighted heavily towards energy in ET.
It's still a great set, aside from the color of the energy fists...

I suggest another animation 'fix'
Instead of Palm to the Head (Old) and DBZZZZZZ (New), your toon should just reach over and touch one finger to the target.
End Cost: 10
Recharge: 20
Range: 7
Cast: 2s
Accuracy: 90%
Stun: Mag3, 10s
Self Damage: 10%
On Foe Death: KB mag50
Yes, it hurls them backwards at terminal velocity if it finishes them off. Use the big flash and boom from the new animation.

The entire set needs to be re-(re-)balanced honestly. I'd just about say, strip it of it's stun mechanic and increase damage to make it a true ST set. Turn it into an awesome, fast animating, high damage force of death, instead of:

My spreadsheets show Stone melee running 1000 SmashPS more than EM and 5000 more AwesomePS
Eh, I'm of a mind that the loss of the Mag 4 in TF hurt the set more than ET's animation change.
But, yeah... my 50 EM hasn't been used in ages. If teaming was hard before, it's almost impossible now that your two huge hits take so long to fire. With the nature of PvE and AoE, you get to kill about one boss by the time the entire group is leveled.
And there's a ton of corpse blasting...

Forgot you don't consider procs. Well with procs in a fast a decent DPA, fast animation, fast recharge attack, over time it ends up doing more.

this has nothing to do with the DPA, its all to do with the total lack of flow and its 2 biggest attacks taking 6 seconds to animate. I would ahve prefered ET to have had its damage slashed and/or its self damage increased.

I totally second that... even if it seems to be a dead horse...
Hadn't read the br00t board in a while, so just caught up on this. My EM/WP brute skipped ET for a couple of power picks later than it was first available because I'd read so many times how much it sucked now. I never had the old version, but I love, love, love the current version. So maybe for those that had the old animation ET it's a big deal, but as someone who never experienced that, I'm extremely happy with the current animation and damage.

Oh definitely, and I was/am extremely happy with the animation on Propel on my Grav/Kin in issue 1 but it still sucked [censored] for a variety of reasons. I was blissfully ignorant and inexperienced enough to not care back then but now I appreciate the difference and effort made by folks to get attention to fixing it.

Wow really. So now with a longer animation on one power your EM brute cannot kill anything? Useless, no. Less fun, probably.
Stone gets 218 DPS for the chain I worked up. But it burns 5.2 end per second where the EM chain only burns 3.8.
So there's a plus in EM's park.
AoE and mitigation still suck, of course.
