How do I know my level????

This may sound very dumb, but I can not for the life of me find my level. I’ve played World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies and Dungeons & Dragons Online and all of these games have had my character level clearly displayed. The obvious spot is in the top right corner inside the experience circle, but that’s just blank. I’m on the trial account at the moment, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. Once someone tells me, I’ll probably go, “Of course.” But right now it’s driving me nuts. Thanks in advance for your help.

Go to Menu then click ID. You can also click Personal Info and see it that way.

The space inside the xp circle is for your super group emblem and will also have TF/SF in it when you're on one.

How dare you be helpful to anyone?

But yeah, what he said.

Or the Ouroboros or Architect symbol when you're on their respective missions.

With no target, you can use the /info command to bring up your own info - This will list your *security/threat* level (aka trained).

You can, also, use /infoself as well as I recall.

Also, there is /whoall which will list everyone in the same zone as you who is not hidden, including yourself, in the "Name Origin Archetype SecLevel CombatLevel" format.

I know what the OP is saying, though.

Every other MMO I've ever played has the player's level clearly visible on the main GUI. I don't see why CoX can't do the same, even if it's only inside a small circle at the left end of the exp bar, it would be better than nothing.

This very issue is why I include the $level switch with all my channel keybinds.

I just check my profile window when unsure. No biggie.

If I'm in a level appropriate zone I just target an enemy and determine my level based on what color they are to me. If that is not an option I just check the personal info window (you can find it by clicking on "Menu" at the top right of your screen)

color/level is as follows:
for minions
if they are green they are 2 levels below you, blue 1 level, white same level, yellow 1 level higher, orange 2 levels higher, red 3 levels higher, purple 4 or more levels higher.

For all you role-players, use this bind:

/bind Ctrl+L "local Don't mess with me! I have Security Clearance Level Ultraviolet

fixed

$level is always handy though.

I prefer to use Menu/Personal Info because at the moment, ID is a bit borked. If you access ID currently, then all of the carriage returns get deleted, and your character bio turns into a Wall of Text in One Big Paragraph. I was checking how much Influ a hero and via ID and then POW! Wall of Text for the bio.

Hope they fix it soon.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

If you're in an SG, check the SG screen.
You can always /t yourcharactername, $level.
/whoall, if you're not hidden, will give both character and security level (trained and untrained,) though it will be off if you're SK'd/Exemped. And it'll show you everyone ELSE not hidden in the zone, too.

To clarify for the new guy:

minions your level are white-con, as are lieuts one level lower and bosses two levels lower. One level above that is yellow, two is orange, three is red and four+ is purple. One level below white is blue, two is green, 3+ is grey.

Some examples: A red boss is 1 level higher than you, a yellow lieut is your level, and a green minion is -2. Purple minion tells you NOTHING because it could be your level +4, could be your level +31.

I've been doing that math in my head so long that I have no idea if it's actually obvious or not.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Yeah, I sorta explained it in my post. Your explanation is easier to make heads or tails of though.

A quick way to do this is to hit \ to open the menu and j to open your personal info. So two key presses and it's open.

Is your level listed in the real numbers "Powers" pop-up? I know your current Influence/Infamy is, but can't remember if your level is.....

I disagree. Given the choice of displaying level, or not, I would prefer not. It's something I need to check so rarely, it would just be more clutter in the UI.

If you go to manage powers, and for any power pool you click on 'Show Detailed Info' it will give you a slider for 'Power as used by LVL AT'. The LVL is defaulted to your current level if you never moved it. Its much quicker to use info though. You can also get this by right-clicking any buff applied to yourself in the status window.
