We'll see. It looks as though they may be leaning toward a single pistol instead of dual wielding, just going off the video. Then again, "cocking a single pistol" may just have been for dramatic effect

LOL. About time they did something like this. This may be the most important change to COH ever. Genius. I always wanted my characters to operate in the grey zone. I mean, I am shooting villains with a machine gun... not exactly "nice".
And if dual pistols are in... wow.
I hope its less Assault Rifley and more based around Single Target burst damage with a Stun/Disorient thrown in there.
My only fear about the dual pistol build is a something they do when a thugs mastermind swaps sides..he loses his buddies..and they up the damage on his pistols..and maybe a few new blasting powers..so if you have a MM character red side instead of a direct port you get a blaster...of course this is just a thought..

I know, I can't wait to see how they deal with the gray area. I've got several characters that aren't necessarily hero or villain all the time, they just went where they made the most sense. Further ways to blur that line are most welcome.
Solo:
My guess would be a fairly standard power spread, with a varied set of secondary effects. Similar to Gunslingers, who can do a wide variety of damage types and effects on top of their bullets. Just a guess (hope) though.
Razor:
It will more than likely be that very character switching sides, I highly doubt you'd become an entirely new AT, that seems extreme. More likely you will come over to the new side with your current powers intact.
I've been waiting for Pistols for a loooooong time, being hugely jealous of the Malta Gunslingers. They have such a sweet bag of tricks. I'm anxious to see how it translates to player sets
I only have one thing to say:

Maybe they'll fix Assault Rifles some more now. Because I'll really be inclined to cut my subscription right if they make one firearms based set noticeably superior over another.
Or they'll add a combo or style points system to it so equilibrium fanboys can really get their fix.

Personally, I want to be able to whip out a single pistol and just finish off a baddie with a shot to the head. With the other arm by my side. Something like this. maybe for the tier 9 power?

Oh, and also dropping to one knee and spraying the area in front of you (cone) with bullets.

Not gonna happen. Projectile weapons are not melee weapons unless you run out of ammo. Maelstrom is described as 'pistol-wielding', not 'pistol-without-ammo wielding'.

I'm hoping that we get some sort of natural "Combat Manipulation" secondary. A hybrid of martial arts and like traps or devices, maybe even a tad bit of super reflexes stuff.
If you look, all of the blaster secondaries have melee attacks in it so it would make sense to have one that natural blasters could choose that would allow you to mix it up.
Something like this would rock:
1: Web Grenade
2: Storm Kick
3: Targeting Drone
4: Dragon's Tail
5: Focus Chi
6: Agile (the Super Reflexes passive, with AT modifier)
7: Pistol Whip (Close AoE Stun..sort of like Electric Manipulations Thunder Clap)
8: Dodge
9: Eagle's Claw

Personally, I forsee/hope that Dual pistols will be mostly single target, fast recharge, lower damage, shorter range attacks... sort of a ranged version of Claws.
What I really, really hope for is that the tier 7 or 8 power being a 2-minute To hit buff, kinda like Rage, but using Aim numbers. Of course, that's probably a pipe dream, but hey, I can hope, can't I?
And did anyone notice that Desdemona is supposed to be a Demon summoner? Is there a new Master Mind primary in the works?

Yes, ironically demon summoning has been rumored/revealed, depending on how you take Posi's statement.

I don't see how that is confining. You don't have to do the combos.
I think it is a great idea to a similar combo system inserted into pistols. And I hope they give them to the Corruptor as well and not just the Blaster.

This is what I'm picturing as well. Very fast recharge on all the powers, but not quite as much 'punch' as other powersets. The Tier 1 Pistol power should make Neutrino Bolt's recharge seem slow. One of the highest tiered powers should be a supercharger for Accuracy or To Hit, where you pretty much can't miss. Maybe through in a Recharge and/or Speed boost as wel, so you can pretty much jump all over the place and and just blast the crap out of everything, followed by a crash. l
I can imagine this will probably end up being rather different from Assault Rifle. AR may seem similiar for the first three attacks, but then it mostly focuses on esoteric AoE powers, while I imagine Dual Pistols would be more single-target and cones of rapid-fire lethal damage.
