Some outdoor zones without any modern landmarks in them at ALL. It feels goofy to say a story's in the past but have War Walls or a big giant Arachnos building or casino in the background.. and I'm too much of a stickler when it comes to my arcs to feel comfortable publishing something unless I'm completely comfortable with it.

* A hospital. Non-ruined, non-nonsensical-maze hospital. Or a set of them.
* More cargo boat maps. Really, apparently a lot of people like the boats for their storytelling, but I'm getting a bit tired of always getting into the same map! Different sizes and cargo distributions would help. Or just plain different kinds of boats!

Tyrant's Throne Room map, with the lava pools, and (please please please please) the ability to put a captive/ally in the same place Statesman is in the real mission.

It was removed because collection details were spawning in the lava, making them impossible to click.

It'll be back, I guess, once they move those detail spawn points.

Okay, I didn't have the patience to read the whole thread, so I may be repeating something that's already been said, but while more unique maps would be nice, what I really want to see is the ability to daisy-chain at least one outdoor map to one indoor map in a single mission (vice versa wouldn't be bad either).

I mean, shouldn't you be able to start in a forest or on the city streets and then go into a cave or building to complete the mission? And not just the pre-set multi-map missions like office-to-cave? (Don't get rid of those though, they're cool).

What I would love would be the ability to use something similar to the base designer to let us design our own maps.

I guess it would be quite consuming in term of memory space required...

I really like the unique cave map with fog in it. I believe it's Rularru's (I'm a redsider, so I'm not as familiar with this content)

A smaller version of this map would be less frustrating to those that do not like the fog, but give people like me the option of making a small mission where the biggest challenge is finding your way!

We'll probably never get anything as flexible as the base designer, 'cause it's just asking for trouble, but what I hope we do see is some combination of the following:

- a map designer that lets us pick rooms of existing maps and connect them together how we'd like (would probably require creating some transition rooms that don't exist today).

- allow us to place a certain number of decorative objects on existing maps, pulled from the same pool of decorative objects as bases.

- allow us to change the lighting color and brightness per room

- allow us to choose ambient sound effects and music

- allow for certain ambient effects to be set, like fog, fire, ice patches, etc, per room.

- instead of allowing us to place spawn points themselves (highly exploitable), allow us to have fine control over the existing spawn points. E.g. I want this boss to spawn on Atta's throne, or this destructible object to spawn in the middle of the CoT altar room, etc.

I think that would give us sufficient control to let us do the functional equivalent of map design. Of course, I'm betting some if not all of those are pretty complicated to implement.

I would love smaller versions of a lot of existing maps. Mayhem's hospital, DE office, and Atta's cave are a few that come to mind. And yeah, a mini-Ruladak cave would be awesome.

Also, a version without the fog.

There are a few missions, in the main part of the game, where you have to defeat some creeps that have invaded the base of a dead Superhero, or a dead Supervillain. I can't seem to find these maps in the MA Map Packs under any Map Category! Why aren't these maps in the MA? If they're not in the MA yet, I wish that they would make, and put them, in it, because there's at least one MArc I'm planning which requires a dead Superhero Base Map! Such maps are needed for a lot of possible missions, and not just by me!

I think that you referring to the Faultline's abandoned lab map (they were first introduced with the revamping of the Faultline zone, as part of the zone's story arc).

In this case; they are in the Mission Architect; but unlockable. I think to remember them to cost 200 tickets...

You mean in term of exploit and farming?
Yes, I can see that.

But still, I believe it would be a great way to reuse stuff that are for a big part already in game in order to add quickly a lot of variety to the maps...

Although, your option would work pretty well too but I'd like to add one option:
The ability to take an existing room or map and choose a texture to apply on the floor and walls.

Lastly, I'm looking for a map to use that I can't find on AE. It's one of the ones I've played with those Shaman badguys who have Storm powers, Zombies, etc. It's a round outdoor mish with some trees and tombstones. It has a round outer ledge and then a step drop off to the round ground section. At the back center of the map is a castle like structure on the bottom (not at at the center on a bridge). Does anyone know what this map is called or where to find it?

Look at the graveyard maps... I've seen it used in a few recent MA arcs.

BlackLight, I'm not talking about the Abandoned Lab Map in Faultline, I'm actually talking about Superhero, and/or Supervillain, Bases! Not the SG or VG Bases we create, in-game, for our characters to use, but the bases that were once used by now dead Superheroes and Supervillains.

Ok then.

If memory serve, the abandoned lab map is presented has an an abandoned Super-Hero base at some point.
I thought that's what you were talking about...

Agreed. This alone would allow some maps to be more unique.

Thank you.

Frankly, I don't really care about the map themselves all that much. Not nearly as what they look like and the feeling/atmosphere they bring to the story.
Especially as we already have quite a large assortment of floor plans already)

If the corridor turns left or if it turns right is less important is less important than if it looks like a sewer or a cosy museum...

Now, the problem I can see with that is that there are objects on the maps, for example, the office maps are full of copiers, cubicles, whiteboards on the wall...) and it might be too complex to let us choose the objects.

Maybe the devs could design a few featureless maps, covering a few basic floor plans (a few corridors connecting 4 bigger rooms at each corner, a donut shape of corridor around a central patio...), and have us decide the texture to put on them?

I think I remember the map I'm thinking about BlackLight! It's the one you sometimes get when, as a Superhero, you do the Cape Mission! As for another Unique Type of Map, or a set of Unique Maps for use in the MA, how about some maps with a Winter Look,(with snow on the ground), or even a Unique Map of Santa's Workshop?
