The Epics : 4-5 Missions Only Arc Reviews

Also looking for more feedback, and my arc definitely fits the bill (5 or so plays to date); so when you have a chance, would love a review:

Title: Is it Live or is it Memory-X
-------------------------------------
Story Arc ID: 70210
Author’s Global Chat Handle: @Armsman
Length: Very Long (5 missions)
Alignment: Heroic

Story Description: The 5th Column is building a device to control the world. Can you save the world from TOTAL DOMINATION?! (Hey it worked to get my Villians and Vigilantes pen and paper RPG group interested back in the day.)

Designer Notes: The Arc can actually be soloed by most Scrapper, Tank and MasterMind builds. In testing, my Gravity/Force Field Controller made it through mission 3 solo with no issues, but starting getting defeats in mission 4; so if you’re a support class or a blaster, you probably need a team-mate. This arc is actually based on an adventure I ran players through in the “Villians & Vigilantes” pen and paper RPG a number of years back. I was surprised at how much of the original ‘flavor’ I was able to keep in adapting it to fit in the CoX universe. There was only really one element I couldn’t include due to MA limitations.

Thanks

I'd love to get some feedback on my arc, I believe it still qualifies under your requirements.

The Gorgon Maneuver
Arc Id # 71797
Faction: Villian
Creator Global/Forum Name: Koldoon
Difficulty Level: somewhat difficult (EB in 3rd mission, AV in 5th mission - also custom enemies make the first and fifth missions more difficult)
Synopsis: When the Snakes find themselves between Arachnos and a strange new menace, they seek out the most capable of villians to resolve the problem. Beset by Ophidians, a strange race of serpents that walk as men, the immortal Euryale summons the Destined Ones into a strikeforce - suitable for all levels.
Estimated Time to Play: soloed in two and half hours, two teams of 6-7 players playing it this past weekend finished in 3 hours and 4 hours respectively

I tried to make this arc really feel like a strikeforce, even subtitling it in the mission intros as "The Gorgon Maneuver, Euryale's Strikeforce"

I'm promoting it with this poster, which I hope doesn't break any rules (posting as link only):

Please try out the arc listed in my sig, and imagine Prisoners in the third mission! The summary is on my wiki page, so I won't copy it over.

Edit: It is 4 missions and has 15 plays right now.

...I forgot what experience means.

Ooh, nice.
Both of my arcs are listed in my signature, and both are four missions long. I hope they're "epic" enough for your tastes; they're both definitely strongly story-based. I appreciate your taking a look at them when you get a chance.

Sorry for the offtopic post but Prisoners are back. They just seem to have missed it on the patch notes.

"Gamble for Oakes" (ID 103878) is a villainside arc, intended for levels 6-12, as a character would be finishing up Port Oakes. Click here for a more detailed explaination.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would review it. Thank you.

Due to the enthusiastic responses, (awesome!) I'm going to post my completed reviews in a seperate review thread once I have enough of them done.

If the creators do not want their review posted pubically, please let me know after I send my review to you.

I will be sending short reviews via MA feedback and longer detailed reviews via PM. If you're an EURO player, I'll use the PM system only.

The Aegis Affair - ID 16376 - Warriors - 20-29 - 2 runs

Hunter of Beasts: It begins with a riot... - ID 110465 - 4-14 suggested - 0 runs

Note: Hunter of Beasts has a lot of clues unnecessary to the mission arc specifically but that give hints of what I plan to release on that storyline later. (I plan mission arcs for 5-15, 10-20, 25-35, 30-40, 35-45 and 40-50 on this line.)

If you are looking for epic, longer arcs with under 100 ratings, I'm definitely willing to put my work up for your review.

both have a tough EB fight at the end, so forewarning.

Arc 5909 Amazon-Avatars. Lots of text and plot here. Last I checked, it was at 52 ratings.

Arc 6143 Escalation A bit less plot than my other arc, and a lot less text. Focuses more on the development of the villain and the hero's relationship to her. Was at 24 ratings this morning.

If you wouldn't mind trying out mine.. I think it might fit your criteria (not many plays, 5 missions, etc):

Arc Name: The Ballad of Murky Thecat listed it here
Arc ID: 77311
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: BinkDeBook
Difficulty Has what should be a tough EB at the End. At least that is how I tried to create it.
Synopsis: This is the story of Murky Thecat. A black cat with a lot of potential.

This arc was created in memory and to honor the original Murky Thecat (Apr 1998 - Jan 2008). This Arc takes you through her "life" in a fun way. And end with you helping to defeat the monster that beat her in real life. In this way she gets to live on forever and win against the monster.

Estimated Time to Play: <1 Hour
Link to More Details or Feedback:

5 Total Missions - following the following concepts:
Mission 1:Adoption
Mission 2:Apartment Living
Mission 3:Suburban Life
Mission 4:<You need to play this one to find out about it - has what should be an easy EB>
Mission 5:<You need to play this one to find out about it - has what should be a hard EB>

Alright I here by submit 1033 for epics, I have this funny feeling I'm going to regret this :P 4 missions lone less then 100 ratings. Revamped since Venture's review told me I was designing missions somewhat wrong. Hope it's better the second time around!

Arc Name: That Which Defines Humanity
Arc ID: 1484
Arc Length: 4 missions

I made this arc back during closed beta and modified it because of some comments made on those forums. I believe I received four-star ratings from them. I then posted the arc on live when I14 first came out, and my arc was rated by ten people with a total of three stars. No one has really played it since.

In essence, I'm just curious as to the arc is actually mediocre or if I just ended up with a couple of bad ratings at the get-go (for what it is worth, I wish we were able to view the individual ratings we received through the MA system). If you could do that for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I am pretty happy with how this came out. I am worried about how people will feel about mission #3. You just have to play through it and there is a more than reasonable explanation after it. I am interested in feedback good or bad.

Dear EPIC creators

According to notes, I have 43 Epic arcs in my review queue.
I am going to halt acceptance of EPIC arcs for now, until I get through this first batch.

My other two review threads are still accepting submissions, if you have shorter arcs. I can get through the Independents and Sequels faster than the Epics.

Thank you all for allowing me to review your works!

Wow, that's a lot of attention-seeking!

Hope you're happy, Monkey, having all these people tugging at you like starving dogs who smell the bacon sandwich in your lunch bag =D

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

Happy to help!

It shouldn't take me eons to run through the queue but I didn't want the line to get too long and have people waiting around weeks for reviews.
