  1. Sorry for the delayed response, was away for a bit.

Thanks for the advice, and I swear I've DL'd new drivers/SP2 previously a while ago...
well anyways, I redownloaded them, and I'd like to see more advice on wether or not I should purchase more gigs of RAM for my CPU, and other options to help me out with the FPS and graphics of CoH and several other games.

    Thanks again, all!
  2. So Issue 17 just launched, and boy, it looks great on my computer. Thing is, my average FPS is about 30-40, and occasionally drops to 20 during hectic and populated battles. I was wondering if there is a way for me to get my computer to be able to run Ultra mode at the maximum settings at a rate of around 50-70 FPS as it previously did. My price range of buying new video cards, RAM, and etc range up till possibly 200 or 300 bucks. Also, keep in mind I'm in Canada, so I may not be able to buy/ship some of the items suggested.

    Here are my computer's dxdiag.

Arc Name: The Saga of Uuralur the Mirror
    Arc ID: 36492
    Alignment: Heroic

Difficulty level: This arc was designed to be fought in a team due to the 3 EBs/AVs and the relatively tough mobs. I'm sure some of the stronger built players could solo it, but even then, a team would certainly be much more fun.
The enemies consists of : Reflections, Circle of Thorns, Banished Pantheon, Carnies, and a few customs.
There are 4 missions, but they all have various objectives and I suggest around 45 minutes to 1 hour on a big team. My Task Force focuses a lot on City of Heroes lore, and especially the Aspects of Rularuu the Ravager.

I''m looking for more reviews and feedback, and if I get enough positive reception, I may be tempted to do another Aspect of Rularuu TF!

    Thanks!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Attempting this with a Level 50 Katana/Regen Scrapper

Mission 1: The contact is from the Shadow Shard and wants help hurting the Reflections and Rularuu. His friend and daughter have been kidnapped and we are off to find some clues. The mission is on an Oranbaga map with a custom group. They all use dark armor so it was hard to get a good look at them. The objective was to defeat 3 bosses. The bosses were tough to defeat. The mission is not solo friendly for many classes of heroes. Decent mission though.

Mission 2: We have to fight carnies now. To be honest, by the time I finished the mission, I had a hard time remembering exactly why I went in there. The mission was a bit strange. I was fighting my way along the streets of the outdoor carnie map when all of a sudden a battle spawned between carnies and reflections. There were a bunch of objectives without much reasoning behind them.

Mission 3: The big bad is now targeting magical groups in Paragon City. We are going in to save Adamastor. There was supposed to be a battle between custom Paragon Protectors and Banished Pantheon, but the BP never stood a chance. I saw 2 of them in the entire mission. The end boss was much harder than the EB.

Mission 4:The final mission is to stop Uuralur from bringing back Rularuu. It is a defeat all in a large map. An EB and a couple of bosses are all grouped together. They drop confuse and terrorize and who knows what else. I forfeited.

Overall this arc had a few missions that were fun to get started, but the last one was not very fun at all. The story very simplistic and not very interesting. Mobs were mostly way overpowered. This arc has 52 plays with a 5 star average, so it is probably just me missing something, but I see it as a 3.5. I have to grade down to a 3 because the final room was extremely frustrating. I know you suggested a team, but I think it is clear I am running all of these solo.

    3 stars.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can see how you might rate it that low as you did run it on solo. However, this TF was designed to be completed with a team, alike the Shadow Shard TFs, and I've gotten glowing review from my teammates. Thank you for the criticism anyways.
  7. The number of crashes is so severe that I'd much rather delay Issue 15 by a couple months just to have this major game-breaking issue fixed. As evidenced by the number of people crashing, this will result in a loss of subscribers unless resolved quickly.
  8. I think you mean the animation/emote Captured (Energy Field), That's teh closest I can think of from your description.
  9. My City of Heroes has been crashing very frequently, often alternately between the one with an error message and one that is just a huge freeze. It is getting EXTREMELY annoying. This is nothing like lagging nor internet connection, it is very sudden and unexpected. Anyone got any advice or assistance?

you do realize that recipes, salvage and enhancements drop from the dev's choice arcs correct? this means that you can already drop purples in ma content. you just have to do the dev choice to get it. i think they also drop from HoF arcs but i haven't played one of those yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I have gotten an Apocalypse: Chance for Negative off a Dev's choice so yes they are possible, but when I ran @Muu's Hall of Fame arc, it still gave only influence/tickets and inspirs, so I'll bet that the HoFs arc act like a normal one...
  11. Also, Altoholic, unless you are on a very tough character, I suggest running my arc "The Saga of Uuralur" with a good team - it was designed to have AVs and for teamplay rather than solo.
  12. Damn, Altoholic, if you manage to play through all those, it's safe to say you have a hell lot of free time!
  13. My top 3 MUST HAVES are...
    1) The ability to edit existing NPC's costumes (Pink-kilt wearing Statesman, anyone?) I ask this because my arc involves one of the other Aspects of Rularuu, and to make the final Archvillain, I had to make a normal sized guy with sliders to the max, and pale, whitish skin. If I could use Faathim the Kind's model, and edit the skin, I'd have a joygasm....

    2) The ability to choose where certain mobs can spawn. Every instanced map has a set boss spawn point, a place where it has a chance of spawning the mission's boss against the other spots. What I mean is, when you are choosing the map in the AE editor, I'd like the map previews to have a blue/red dot (green is reserved for elevators) that allows you to activate it as a possible boss spawning point. That way, I can have the boss always spawn in a nice open room rather than having half his body being clipped by the Hallway ceiling.

    3) The ability to create your own mission maps via the base editor. Very unlikely, but imagine the fun and delights everyone would have, although the farmers would happily abuse this...
  14. Count me in! My arc's ID is 36492, and the name is "The Saga of Uuralur."

This arc focuses on one of the other Aspects of Rularuu other than the ones we have at the moment (Faathim, Ruladak, and Lanaruu)
This story arc is NOT reccomended to be soloed, but maybe the hardiest of Heroes can do it. The final mission's ending is EXTREMELY difficult, but not impossible as you will have backup.
This Story arc is 4 missions long, with 2 Defeat alls, and 3 EBs/AVs.
If I get enough positive reception, I may make another story arc focusing on the other Aspects of Rularuu.

Please critique so I can make this story arc more enjoyable for future players!

  16. Speeden is a 10-15 minute eden run, similar to the old days of Katie Hannon Express. Basically, you defeat the Rock wall fast, have someone TP through a small hole in the Mold Wall, Team TP, and go destroy the Titan with WW Bought Ambrosias.

For dual cores you should see a 30-50% FPS boost, for hyperthreaded procs, about a 15% boost.

Consider it necessary. Warning: If you have an ATI card, the -renderthread 1 flag does not play well with task switching.

Hey Billz, I was led here by one of your replies to my previous post, and I found this. I recently bought a new computer (Quad Core) Would this help my framerate? Currently it is at around 30-40 on max graphics.

    Rag Doll Mishaps

I'd like to start a new thread featuring rag doll mishaps and gags, so please post your photos here!

So I was doing a routine Hellion mission until I saw this guy "pleasuring" himself and was glad to comment on the "fine" job the developers did on rag-doll physics...
