I tried to write up the reasons that costume is great, and I ended up babbling about colors and awesome.

Love that one. Really good use of the new hood and mixing it all in with existing stuff.

Sorry my change had unintended consequences.
The New Darc Ranger... Aka the Pimp Ranger.

I thought it looked ok, until I left Icon in IP, around the corner from a police station. I may need bail money. Luckily I did not have a cane, or there would have been no chance for bail.

Honestly it was not a planned thing. I was going for white mage with a cool hat.

Very nice all around. Very inspiring!

I put a Baroque-looking costume an my Warshade, but Obsidius just looks mean, almost like the Beast.

Love the look you've got there Obsidius!

Daednu sporting her new outfit. Really like the fringe cape over the bolero look from the behind the character view.

It didn't take me long to figure out you could have a bolero, high collar cape, AND a wedding veil resulting in three flowing "capes" at once. I didn't think there was any real point to it other than the humor factor, but you've proven me wrong with that nice fringe cape there.

Are those front-split folded boots male only? I can't find them anywhere.

Anyhow, here's a quick spruce up of my not-really-magic-based Mind/En Dominator Antisocial

Fringe + bolero = almost classy!

Am I right?

OK, Female/Elegant goes far too well with the Bridal stuff. I can see me using the heck out of it.

Ceremonial wear. - not all ceremonies are magic. First one's one of my Warshades, who was/is the "de facto" head of one of my SGs, even if it's named after someone else. The other's my Fire/Storm controller, one of those "by right of birth, leader" types. And who's going to argue with someone descended from two dragons?

So far, I only have two ideas, and neither one has been made in-game yet, for lack of available costume slots

One is Sir William Worthington III, as you can tell by the background, a villain. His first costume, the one he has on now, is a lot more... Modest

The other is Grimwall, who's flowing, elegant white dress, the clothing I originally wrote her with in my Tale of Two Hearts, has finally come probably as close as I'm going to get it to how I originally envisioned it. I might add some more... Frills, at a later date. Too bad the high collar clips with her hair and I can't use a short cape with it.

I haven't gotten to put these on the character they wer designed for, but I came up with a Classic Robes and a Armored Mage looks for my mage character.

Okay, one thing I haven't seen talked about yet are the costume change emotes.

Was playing with them last night. They officially ROCK.

The ONLY downside is that they don't seem to work from the /cc command. Only from the costume change screen.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Check Dev's Digest, I think BAB posted a macro/bind that you can use.

Here, because it's worth repeating. Here's BABs' post:

Hope you guys are enjoying the costume change emotes that are part of the Magic booster pack. There have been questions here on the forums about using these outside of the costume selection screen, and the answer is "Yes. There is a console command for activating these."

The command is /cc_e or /cc_emote ('costume change emote')

The full syntax is:
/cc_e [costumeSlotSlot#] [emoteName]

There are a couple of important notes. One, the costume slot numbers start with 0. So your first costume slot is 0, your 2nd is 1, 3rd is 2, etc. Two, you need to use the actual emote name, not the display name that you see in the costume select screen's rollout. For the magic pack, these are:
<ul type="square">[*]CCPrestoChango - “Presto Chango”[*]CCLightning - “Lightning”[*]CCSpin - “Spin”[*]CCCast - “Cast”[/list]Example:
/cc_e 1 cclightning
Will switch you to your 2nd costume slot, using the "Lightning" costume change emote.

As part of a macro or bind:
/local ABRACADABRA!$$cc_e 1 ccPrestoChango

Other than that, the normal rules for costume changes apply. You can only switch costumes once every 30 seconds. If you try to use a costume change emote sooner or try to switch to the costume slot you're already in, it won't work. You'll look foolish, and everyone will laugh at you.

Cheers!

How are people getting the arcane/ornate trim on the skirts?

For the life of me I can't figure out how to do that.
