WHITE QUEEN (3D Marvel stuff in Poser)

As you all know, I've been moving towards DC and Marvel characters in the hopes of eventually getting picked up to do covers or pin-ups for the 'big boys'. Most of my pieces have been DC-based, so I thought it was time to start on some Marvels. This is the first.

Pretty good, but you can obviously tell it's Poser.

Also background is horrible.

Oooooh. A long time coming but very much worth the wait.

It may still look Poser/3Dish but it's still well done for something done 3D, it could look a lot more stiff. The colors, pose, lighting/shading, textures and what not seem real enough.

The background doesn't look all that bad. Doesn't look good as Emma, but it sets the scene well enough.

Everyone knows that Doug renders in poser then adds his own special magic. :/

Beautiful work Doug. Very realistic. I saw the thumbnail on DA and would have sworn it was a photograph if I hadn't known better.

Good God do you ever mess anything up?

Nice work yet again!

My logic on the setting is a version of Cerebro. And for character shots, I prefer to keep the backdrop simple.

Ok then. The ceiling looks to low/character look too big. She looks like she's gonna hit her head when she stands up.
The chair is way big compared to the control panel. Does she need to lean down to use it?
The shading on the metals looks plasticy, specially under the chair. And the support for the control panel looks like it needs lots more work(looks like a poly cube that's been extruded 3 times with a lambert slapped on and then lefted it there).

That still isn't constructive that's just listing flaws that you see in the picture. There is a difference between constructive criticism and being picky. The same difference that applies to being helpful and being an [censored].

Yes.

He has mis-interpreted many of the details of the piece (such as her placement on a dais in the middle of a giant sphere and the consoles being articulated to move up and down), but it's easier to just ignore him.

He has the right to dislike my art, and I have the right to skip over his posts as irrelevant.

Plus I don't remember you asking for feedback ...

anyway we can put someone on ignore on the boards?

Yeah, click their name, and there should be an "ignore this user" option at the bottom. Unfortunately, all it does is hide the text of their posts, it's not like /ignore in-game where they totally disappear. You still see the place where they post, with "you are ignoring this user" in place of whatever they wrote.

Also, great piece, love the boots!

Works for me. a simple background is good. Hell, with how well done Emma is, that hair, the wrinkles and realness to the fabric of her clothes, it's kinda hard to even realize there's a background there at all. lol I was trying to correct one certain critical person and I think I came out too negative myself. Sorry bout that.

This may be just personal taste, but I don't think that's the right face for Emma. Remember, Emma's someone with the best body money can buy. Literally. She's been touched up and nipped and tucked for years before the Hellfire Club.

I guess it's just that roundish nose. I don't see her settling for something as pedestrian as that and demanding something a little more... Patrician. (Though perhaps not literally Patrician, i.e., Italian, but something suitably WASP-y and East Coast moneyed.)

It's all technically brilliant as usual. I just got hung up on her face.

Lol. Keep doing that, and see how far you get with Marvel. Protip: Every editor in the industry is at least 10x pickyer than I am.
