Beleted thanks everyone! My actual playing account is closed, but I have always used my brothers account for my forum account. (for some stupid reason that has proven beneficial)
CR, I didnt get your note. luckily I checked here -
Quote:How did I know you'd be the one to spot that dudeEddy and Nema are a winning combination no doubt, I too was very impressed by the smoke effect.
Yes he did engrave Carlos Gomez's signature into the brick but the question is can anyone spot the Swanzy Swan he signs his colors with?
truth be told I forgot to add it to this version before it was uploaded, However the swan symbol is carved into the brick underneath carlos's signiture on the High res I sent Caemgen.
Quote:same, he's the first person i saw on here and went, oh wow, that it really good!Quote:Swanzy's colors are always amazing and this time is no different! I love how he takes the artist lines and is able to enhance them with his color without distracting from them. Plus it's also the little touches that he adds that really effects the look of his work. Check out the brickwork in the buildings in the background, the diffused lighting from the street through the smoke/smog, and his ability to add a ton of depth. His grasp of color is really awe inspiring! He is who inspired me to work on coloring in my spare time (I'm sure I'll NEVER be anywhere as close to this good but I still try). I think if your work can inspire others to action, that says book-loads about your talent!
Gratz on ANOTHER great piece in your collection Caem!
thanks everyone for the kind comments on the nema piece.

I'll be posting my quick colors for wassy's firefly sketch on sunday aswell as my first swanzy sunday original sketch. so keep an eye out and keep suggestion art for me and wassy to do. it can be anything really. -
good to see you make one! writing is definitely an art-form (that I suck at
) author's are definetly welcome.
hell people in general are welcome to do something like this, inspiration doesn't just have to be inspiration to do art it can be anything at all. -
Quote:You ****er!Also, I'm surprised by your love of Michael Turner. I don't see his style in you at all, and please don't take that as a slight, 'cos it's actually a compliment.
heh, nah ofcourse no slight taken. I think I remmmber hearing something about good artist being able to hide he's inspiration or something.
I didnt fit everything into that, there was also music, my girlfriend, the afternoon sky, the letter M, thursdays and apples. -
good to see others participating. I wish I had thought to label mine aswell nazghul
-
I'm the only person I know who was crazy enough to do it! xp
I colored caemgens original trio. their in my gallery if you want to check em out.
I like them but its debatable whether or not they worked -
Filled out a really awesome sheet over on DA I think its a great idea for an artist to do something similar to this.
All images are explained on my DA http://eddy-swan.deviantart.com/art/...6965167?q=&qo=
so who inspires your art? either fill one of these out or just list them and link to pictures. -
Hey everyone.
It has slowly gotten to the point lately where I have posted next to nothing of my own work over the last year on DA. My coloring has been going really well but I dont only ever want to color. so I am going to start taking on weekly sketches. I will be picking a character, topic, object or thing each week and at the end of the week I will post the resulting artwork.
where do you come in? I want your suggestions for what to do.
I'll take OC's, Animals, characters from games, cartoons, comic books, TV and film, give me a random name for a character and I'll draw what I think they should look like. suggest something, anything at all, Depending on the demand I might not do everything but I will do my best to fulfill all request's.
leave your sugguestions on my journal over on DA
also it occurs to me that this was never posted here
and I finished the coloring for the WIP posted above.
should be something new from me this sunday! keep watching and suggestion stuff for me and Wassy to do. -
Posted a new WIP on the devision 401 group site.

Some drastic improvements to your work of late bobby, keep it up
-
I'm always happy to recieve critical feedback of my work. it helps me to see my work from another set of eyes. there is a link to my DA page in my sig. I mainly have my color work there which you are free to critique, but there are also some digital paintings and process works aswell, for example some matte paintings in sketch phase. feel free to pick something from there or if you dont feel like it I'll throw something your way. I'm easy.

ACTUALLY, I'm going to try my own experiments on it as well, but throw me a note if you have spare time to play with
As the Official Frost Magus Artist, I don't allow just anyone to put their artistic stamp on her, as I'm homicidally jealous... but I make exceptions for you ^.^
I'm very happy with the way its going so far. A bit differant to anything else I have done.

If I would have been drinking coffee when I read your commission info I would have ruined my keyboard.
best of luck with that. -
The line is getting shorter.
sorry for the delay star-wind. finally found some time to finish this piece (CR jogged my memory about it at just the right time) Commissions and full time study have kept me very busy of late. lines by CR colors by me.
Hope it was worth the wait.

have been meaning to post here for a while about he different things I have been up to in my art. but I have been flat out with school work and commissions, I haven't had a chance to come up for air. which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean I lose base with a few people and a good chunk of the folks of this forum is part of that.
I just want to say while I haven't been posting frequently, I have been checking in here regularly, and following alot of folks silently. *shifty eyes*
anyway. this will be my new art thread, I have been working an a lot of different things, learning 3d modeling, matte painting and character design in my current course. as well as that I have been studying alot of massiveblack downloads and gnoman workshop dvd's I've also been reading figure drawing for all its worth by Andrew loomis which is opening my eyes to alot of simple things in human anatomy I have not been paying attention to. anyway, all this amounts to alot of time soaking up knowledge but not much time putting it to use so I dont have an awful lot to show for it just yet all my projects are still WIP's but I do have a few odd things folks might be interested in seeing.
Orc head 3d model (Mds Max)
I've not used any 3d software for longer then 2 minutes prior to starting my course. but since getting some instruction, I've found it fairly easy to learn and understand. Its been good at helping my understanding of form as-well. next semester I will be getting into texture.
I painted this After watching an instructional dvd on matte painting by Dylan Cole there were alot of useful tips on getting the right perspective, hoping to finish this with full photo referance but at the moment its just a sketch.
another environment sketch this is supposed to be the emerald city from wizard of oz. I am looking at doing a full CG painting of this image with the emerald city modeled in 3ds max
this is a rough idea of the sort of thing I will be using except more detailed and smoother and larger. I actually did this model before the sketch, so my vision has changed.
thumbnails for character design.
the finished character concept. note that this was the image that made me realise I have to spend more time on my anatomy
this one too...
as well as this stuff there is a heap of new colors on my DA page. I'll be posting more stuff soon hopefully
