Studio B's Oversuppression?
I'm kind of fond of it, personally. I don't mind losing Swift, Nova, etc while in there, because it means that other people aren't running Hurricane and what not.
And if we're going to shut off "some" powers, might as well make it "all" powers, just to prevent things like Self Destruction from not being affected by the suppression because of classification or level issues.
In other words, I think it's fine as is, and any work to "improve" by allowing some powers is unneeded.
I'm only talking about Self Auto Powers (powers that are always on once you have chosen/achieved them) that have no auras or effects. I don't think Self Destruct would fall into that category since it's a click power.
I know what you're saying, but I'm thinking they have a good reason to put it the way it is. And I will reiterate:
"I think it's fine as is, and any work to "improve" by allowing some powers is unneeded."
A flat out no powers work is *insert code rant here* much easier to code successfully than a partial block.
Outside of the few steps from the door to the terminal, what do you need auto powers for in there anyway ?

Well, if the contact you had to talk to during the tutorial wasn't all the way on the other side of the room I wouldn't complain. I don't plan on using the room for the tables as I have no issues with lag. I do have an issue with spending more time running to and from that contact than I do on the rest of the tutorial though.
Note: I have already fully read the tutorial and understand how the system works. I just need to get rid of an active contact for 143 more characters now.

I understand what you mean. A clean sweep was easier and why chance messing it up.
My answer: Because it's just annoying. "QoL"
Alternatively they could move the tutorial contact closer to the door. That would be enough for me and would allow me to ignore the room in general, which is what I plan to do.

I like the power suppression the way it is as well, but moving the contact next to the door is a good idea.

Wait is this related to hurdle and swift not working for a moment after changing zones?

It's also much easier to accidentally apply to the entire game.
Like, say, what's happening now, which wouldn't be happening if self-affecting auto powers with no graphics, like Hurdle, were exempt.
Err... what's "happening now"? I haven't had any powers-related issues.

I'll second this with a "wait.. what?" This is the first I've heard of anything "happening now".

All buffs, including buffs from auto powers, are disabled for 10s after zoning. Zoning into any zone, into missions, out of missions, logging in, any kind of zoning. Click buffs are removed completely upon zoning in some cases, or give a "Cannot affect this target" message and aren't applied in others (Hasten, Practiced Brawler), and the player can't activate the power again until it's recharged (thus forcing some to wait for anywhere from a couple to several minutes to proceed when they enter a mission).
Hmm, so they are. I hadn't even noticed until you pointed it out.

Oh for Pete's sake! People will complain about the littlest things! It never fails every issue someone has to cry about something so trivial as having to "walk" 20 feet without GASP swift.
Before anyone calls me a fanboi or what have you... I could care less about MA and issue 14 altogether... it is not a feature I see myself using.
BUT - Unlike most people who feel they are owed things and complain about the tiniest "inconvenience" - I am simply grateful for ... THE GAME
(If this seems harsh... oh well... complain about that then!)

I swear, I run in there with a level 50 with Swift and suddenly it feels like I'm in a tar patch.

"Littlest thing"?
You understand this is a pretty noticeable screw-up, that adversely affects the performance of any buff powerset in the game? I mean, I'm definitely willing to give the devs the benefit of the doubt on this one -- I can see what they wanted to do, and I even consider it worth doing -- but they really need to reverse this, and quick, until they can restrict it to the intended target. It is absolutely not worth the gain if it's going to apply to the huge number of unintended situations it presently covers.

I think by "Littlest thing" Fixxer is responding to the OPs unhappiness with having to walk slowly across Studio B to do the MA Tutorial, not the issue Luminara highlighted.
i dont see what the problem is. you dont get a bdge for doing the intro so you only have to go through it once. and even then you dont have to go through it. and, OMG, it takes 10 extra secs in the suppression room. i have yet to notice these spill overs at all from that room. of course if everyone wasnt all on at the same time on some of the servers, or went to a different/less populated server, you probably wouldn't notice it.
people really will [censored] about ANYTHING won't they.

Or it could be the long awaited fix for the 'double stacked' buff exploit abused by Shielders for the longest time.

OMG!! I DON'T HAVE SWIFT!!
I HAVE TO *GASP* WALK!!!!
One of you devs -I don't care who- better fix this. I pay good money to you people so I don't have to *gasp* WALK for a mere 10 seconds! Fix it NOW! NOW, I SAY!
And whilst I'm at it. I think you developers need to take a good long look at this thing I call "Hunger" Oh yeah,...it effects us all...fix that too. Chop-chop!
.....no swift?... I'm moving slow while I'm in this building....*facepalm*

I'm still not seeing it... I played on various characters, hoping through zones and missions, and I don't just see this happening. My FF bubbles are still sticking to people when they zone, and I know Sprint and PFF are still working, as are click powers like Hasten and Eclipse on my Warshade.
Am I doing something right?
Does Studio B have to suppress even Self Auto Powers?
I mean, I can understand the auras, the perma clicks and such, but why can't I keep my Swift, Hurdle, Atlas Medallion, Phalanx Reserve, etc. (which have no visual effects) in that room.
I swear, I run in there with a level 50 with Swift and suddenly it feels like I'm in a tar patch.
Can we ease up on that Power Suppression just a tad maybe?
