Virtue Mission Architect Advertisment

Published my first arc today, pretty happy with how it turned out but would like to have some feedback and criticism to help me fine-tune it a little further before live. As the name suggests the main threat of the arc is a custom group based on Gx the Space Gremlin's backstory, but I left him out of the actual arc to save space and keep the arc fast-paced (decided a detour to highlight my character would've only slowed things down and not really added anything to the story).

Arc Name: Attack of the Space Gremlins
Arc ID: 20991
Alignment: Heroic
Length: "Very Long", 4 missions.
Description: A derelict spacecraft has been drawn into Earth orbit. Both the U.S. government and Arachnos, among others, seek to lay claim to whatever secrets it may hold. (Recommended Level: 40-45, soloable with caution but team recommended. AV in last mission. Feedback & criticism appreciated.)

Note: First couple times I tested this after publishing, a required objective didn't spawn in the first mission; tried again today and it worked fine. If you run into this, please let me know.

I just published my sequel to "Kidnapping Kelly the Kow" based on the blackmail letter you get as the souvenir at the end of the arc.

It is called "Blackmail" #21165 and continues and finishes the story that the first arc started.

I'd love to get some feedback on the 2nd arc, as well as hear what people thought of the entire story as a whole.

as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.

My Arc!

Operation: Black Heart, Acts I and II

Arc IDs: Part 1: 17874, Part 2: 20957

A favor for a friend puts Maxwell Christopher onto an evil plot that could shake the city to its core. Can you crack the conspiracy linking the city's villains to it? What is the "Black Heart"? And how far will they go to protect that secret? Can you help the FBSA agent find out the truth?

Looking for feedback! Due to being written before we knew the details of the Architect, it's a little awkwardly split up. I'd love to see some opinions.

Also, Ascendant, did Saul Rubenstein's Discount task force. Bloody brilliant.

Has been killed by the DoT on Throwing Knives and proud of it.

Arc Name: The Delilah Pact
Arc ID: 21577
Faction: Villainous
Creator Global/Forum Name: @SoulTrain 2020 / @Soultrain
Difficulty Level: Medium to hard, no customs, mobs in last mish are nasty though.
Synopsis: An accident during a routine job sends your fate spiraling in an unexpected direction.
Estimated Time to Play: 2-3 hours

This is an arc for villains (or mercenary heroes). It starts out normal, sort of, and then gets a little odd. I will warn you, it's deceptively standard fare during the second-fourth missions... and then mission 5 is the tricky one. Haven't tried it on a team, but since ALL of the mobs are stock, they should scale just fine.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

I've posted on the MA forum already, but ... two-part story here, collectively known as Jamie Salladon's Task Force. Now with 50% more completed cover images (for the first half ... the second half's image is still in progress).

Cover Image 1!

ArcID: 3962
Title: Temporal Anomalies
Description: The Clockwork are behaving even more oddly than normal, and a seemingly ordinary mission to deal with them exposes a much larger threat. Note: I assume you have completed the Synapse Task Force, or at least know the revelation about the Clockwork therein.
Length: Four missions, no defeat alls

ArcID: 4804
Title: The Inversion Point
Description: You have exposed a threat to the city. Now you must discover who is ultimately behind it and put a stop to it.
Length: Four missions, one is a defeat all on a smallish map.

These arcs should be soloable, at least with non-support characters and judicious inspiration use. I'm going for story, not difficulty. Any feedback is most welcome, but especially let me know if you find the enemies in either arc (especially the first one) are too hard with a team (at a reasonable difficulty level).

Feedback thread here

Also, the arcs have been added to HighTreason's Arc search site. Their pages are: Temporal Anomalies and The Inversion Point

Edit: I've updated the ArcIDs to their Live Server numbers. (The old numbers were 16189 and 17153.)

Hi Virtue!

I have set up a new global channel called MA Arc Finder.

This global channel is open to all and is intended for across all servers to help players promote, locate or get tech help with Mission Architect story arcs.

I would like to get an operator for each server so after you join please send me a global tell if you are interested in that role.

NOTE - This Channel is meant to be CROSS SERVER. It is intended as a way to help locate arcs you might want to play and to promote your own arcs beyond your home server. It is in no way meant to replace individual server channels.

@Wrong Number

Check out one of my most recent arcs:
457506 - A Very Special Episode - An abandoned TV, a missing kid's TV show host and more
416951 - The Ms. Manners Task Force - More wacky villains, Wannabes. things in poor taste

or one of my other arcs including two 2010 Player's Choice Winners and an2009 Official AE Awards Nominee for Best Original Story

A Jaunt Into Dataspace
Arc ID: 1438
Summary: Go rummaging through Crey's files with a little help from a friend.
Length: Medium.
Difficulty: Very easy solo. One optional difficult boss fight in Mission 2. Should scale up to provide a decent challenge for bigger teams.
Focus: Story-driven.
Tone: Light-hearted (some jokes, not entirely silly)
Does It Tell Me What My Character Is Doing/Thinking? Yes, a few times.

Notes: The AE search claims it's "Long", but I can solo it on my Storm/Elec Defender in 40 minutes.

My goal was to make this arc as fun as possible. The main focus of it is the middle mission, where you're searching through Crey's file servers. Every glowy has at least a 50% chance of holding something interesting, so if you like to read clue text you will not get bored!

There are a few places where I mention what your character does or thinks, so if that's your pet peeve, don't play this arc. (I have no way of knowing if your character *does* care whether they're in a database or file server, or they don't know any forensic accountants/happen to be a forensic accountant themselves.)

Edit: Apparently the Dataspace Security is very annoying to mid-to-large teams. The Lieutenants have Elec Blast and Kinetics (only at Standard, but it still means Transfusion for everyone), so it can get pretty sap-heavy. Looking into ways of fixing this.

A repost with Live IDs. Operation: Black Heart: Acts I and II

Act 1: 1621 Act 2: 1629

Looking for feedback! This arc was written before we knew the specifics of the Architect, and a lot of it is a bit awkward due to text limits and mission limits. I'm happy with how it came out, though.

Arc Name: Statesman's Task Force
Arc ID: 4659
Creator: @TurmoilX
Alignment: Heroic
Difficulty Level: Moderate - Difficult

Synopsis: A mini version of the famous STF. TONS of detail was put into this 5-mission arc; from the boss diologue, to the best visual reconstruction possible (Many maps and such, just couldn't be copied as they don't exist in the MA), to the entire story dialogue.

Number of Missions: 5

Hail Emperor Cole!
====
(TurmoilX - 50, Fire/Emp Troller) (Emily Meyer - 50, PB) (Olias - 50, Necro/Dark MM) (David R. Scion - 50, Crab) (Haruaki Kaido - 50, SS/Stone Brute) (Chaos Bot - 50, AR/Kin Corr)

Now on LIVE!:

The Revenge of Frostfire!
by @Turkey Lurkey
Arc ID: 5383
Morality: Villainous
Level Range: 7-15 (one mission is 1-54, but that's because of the map limitations)
Length: The system says "Very Long", I disagree. Took me about 45 minutes to run through on my MA/Regen scrapper. Depends on your build. If you're the ghosting type, it will take you less. So don't be scared by the "Very Long".
Description: Poor Frostfire! Always being captured by gangs of heroes. Well, he's had enough! Help him get his revenge!

Mission 1: Lvl 7-15. Patrols, Rescue.
Mission 2: Lvl 1-54. Boss, Defeat All.
Mission 3: Lvl 7-15. Ally, 4 Bosses.
Mission 4: Lvl 7-15. EB, Defeat All.

Intended to be a villain version of the Frostfire arc. This has not been tested with a team, so let me know how it turns out if you run it with one. Comments and feedback encouraged!

If you get a chance, check out Justice Hut: Attack of the Terrorist Toppings.

It's a cartoony arc, meant to resemble an episode of The Tick without drawing directly from it.

The story is about Justice Hut, the worst supergroup in Paragon, and their adventure to thwart Ridickulo, an evil mastermind, from taking over the city's food supplies using an army of animated pizza toppings.
