Arc Name: The Wolf, The Staple Gun and the Rikti
Arc ID: 279330
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @M I M / AreEss
Difficulty Level: HIGH - this arc should NOT be soloable.
Synopsis: Anyone can join Vanguard. The being known as Tundra has been known to work with Vanguard, but frequently expand missions from "empty a Rikti base" to "empty a two square mile radius of anything not Vanguard." Now she wants you to help her with a mission.
Estimated Time to Play: Estimated at around one to two hours.
Link to More Details or Feedback: N/A Currently
Important Notes: This arc is designed and intended for characters level 45-50 only. Enemies will range in level from 45 to 54. Please let me know if you run into any bugs.
THIS ARC CONTAINS SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT RUN THE LADY GREY TASKFORCE!

Arc Name: Internet Prawn's Happy Fun Sc4v3ng3r Hunt of D00m And Stuff YA RLY
Arc ID: 280463
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @M I M / AreEss
Difficulty Level: Silly Easy. Or just silly.
Synopsis: Internet Prawn. The most terrifying name in Paragon City, for it foretells annoyance, hijacking your WiFi and photoshopping. Hellions and Skulls fear him, for he has image editing built into his brain. Or what passes for his brain. And he's gone and gotten his hero license suspended again - this time for hanging a Hellion from the flagpole atop City Hall. By their underwear.
This wouldn't be your problem, if he hadn't found your home computer and everything on it.
Yeah. You're gonna have to help him now.
Estimated Time to Play: Estimated at around an hour, worst case.
Link to More Details or Feedback: N/A Currently
Important Notes: This arc is designed and enforced at level 1-15. You'll be fighting low level mobs. You'll be laughing your rear off. Fun for everyone!
Neutral because given it's Prawn, and license or not, we're pretty sure he's not exactly hero material.

Arc Name: Somnambulism
Arc ID: 285460
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Elysienne
Difficulty Level: Medium-hardish?
Synopsis: A Warshade approaches you concerning a disturbance in an office building. Citizens have begun to attack each other for no given reason, like a sudden and massive series of psychotic breaks. But the Warshade seems to know more than she lets on about the situation. What is causing the phenomenon? And why does this "Oublietrix" not divulge everything?
Estimated Time to Play: Perhaps two hours? It's five missions long, but it only has one large map.
Link to More Details or Feedback: None
Important Notes: This arc is designed with 35+ characters in mind. I've not played it through with any character smaller, so it may be more difficult for players playing a smaller character.
The first and second mission are failable, but it's not likely, just possible. There is an EB in mission 3, and an AV in level 5.

The Elysienne; Magical controller
Silent Sickle; Natural scrapper
And many more.
Aenigma Rebis: "Actually, Ely's more like Jean Grey. Only... smart."

Estimated Time to Play: An hour, maybe a little less, depending on the team.

Title: Inhuman Resources - Inevitable Evolution At Work
Arc #: 298132
Author: @twelfth
Search For: Arc or author works fine.

Faction: Neutral (Basically for villain ATs who RP as "heroic")

Level Range: 1-40 for the most part. Final mish is 40-54 due to the EB/AV.

Difficulty: Autopilot/Easy until final mish, which has an EB/AV. Designed for duo, allies are common. Despite the summary entry in the AE interface, there are no "enemies" with custom powersets (these are your allies). See below for details.

Length: "Long"; 4 missions set to small to medium maps. Runs about 45 mins to an hour.

Arc Summary: Want to join Inevitable Evolution, Virtue's renowned dissident army? Come along and thwart a fiendish plot to crush dissent in the population of the Rogue Isles before Arachnos can enslave further innocents.

Notes: This is explicitly a VG recruitment arc for Virtue-based RP VG Inevitable Evolution. The Arc is expected to be run at least as a Duo with a mentor (a member of the VG), although team play can be fast and furious. The arc is SFMA for soloers, but solo players may find the final EB/AV quite challenging (particularly at lower levels). Most missions provide at least one ally.

Design was crafted with the following objectives in mind:
1. Express the tone of IE's RP themes and plotlines, along with nods to established VG lore.
2. Large level range to accomodate any level of toon who might be recruited.
3. Uncomplicated enemy groups so as to not frustrate any AT or team size.
4. Speed. This arc isn't supposed to take all night.
5. Provide OOC info about the VG for interested parties.

Known Issues:
1. Final triggered boss in mish 2 spawns in the subjective "middle" of the map and not at the "back" as directed in the design.
2. Expect some backtracking on Mish 3 due to cascading objectives. Sharpsighted players might notice the objectives before they actually activate.
3. Final EB/AV tends to spawn around a blind corner. I'd be great if the devs would let us place spawn points, but whatever.

Arc Name: The Tale of the Arcanous Librium
Arc ID: 242636
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @IanTheM1
Length: Very long. Five missions, with justified defeat alls for three missions.
Difficulty Level: Balanced difficulty, but has additional challenges, mostly in the form of ambushes, but also contains melee-centric critters. Features custom enemies, Crey, and Arachnos.
Synopsis: The Legacy Chain needs your help in finding the stolen pages of a magical tome.

I'm happy to finally be able to post this up as Looking for Feedback! An annoying number of map errors, bugs, and other nonsense kept me from being able to publish this, but I've managed to fix or workaround all of them.

Please let me know what you think!

Arc Name: Two Great Tastes
Arc ID: 311775 (I think... if it isn't, PM me, but I'm, like certain it is)
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @ManofManyChars (I'm a twofer!)
Difficulty Level: I mostly play Masterminds. I have only played this arc with Masterminds. I'm not qualified to judge this part, but I've been told by others that it's not super-hard.

Synopsis: Maxwell Christopher has you investigate something, yadda yadda mission descriptions etc. Basically, you're fighting and/or investigating my custom group for this arc. They're a crazy combination of Nemesis and Freakshow, I got the idea from the immortal line, "I assure you, my good man, Nemesis is most certainly 'down with the street.' Word up, my homie, as it were."

Estimated Time to Play: An hour, tops, and that's if you're wasting time. It's only four missions, and the maps aren't too big.

Link to More Details or Feedback: My sig has a link to the arc's thread. Post all your feedback/questions there, or PM me if you're really shy. I especially love questions, because I like to tell people about how I come up with my ideas, because it makes me feel like a real video game designer (which I will be in a few years, anyway, but I like getting the early taste).

Arc Name: "The Maestro and the Thorn"
Arc ID: 352185
Faction: Council/Circle of Thorns/Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @BlueJack404
Difficulty Level: 20-27, challenging
Synopsis: The spoken word is often a powerful tool in magic. Maestro of the Council has discovered this and intends to use it to both restore his hearing and take over Paragon City. Control sound, and you control the world.
Estimated Time to Play: Short.

Update (12/9/09): Fixed Maestro defeat note. Added contact bio. Corrected 1 spelling error. Cleared up confusion regarding the horn's power.

Arc Name: A Caged Bird Never Sings
Arc ID: 370515
Faction: Tsoo/Custom
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Harald387
Difficulty Level: 15-40, Challenging
Synopsis: The past has come back to haunt a former villain turned hero, and she needs your help to put it back in its place.
Estimated Time to Play: I was able to solo it (with a number of deaths) in about 90 minutes. I wouldn't recommend soloing this arc unless you're a melee AT with plenty of mez resistance and a masochistic streak. It would be great for a medium-sized team.

This is my first AE arc, and I welcome constructive criticism (and compliments), or advice from more experienced authors. Feel free to PM or mail me.

The citizens in Paragon City terrify me. Anyone who will jump off a six-story building and swim across half of Independence Port just to say 'Thank you' didn't need my help in the first place.

Arc Name: The Coldest of Wars
Arc ID: 299972
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Celestial Nemesis
Difficulty Level: Moderate. Mostly Crey and Freakshow; some customs, but they're not particularly powerful. Last mission has an EB, downgrades to a normal boss when running on no-bosses. Tested with a level 19-ish squishy villain group and various solo characters. **NOTE** Two of the four missions are timed, but the timer is not too strict and there are appropriate 'branches' of the story if a timed mission is failed so that the story still makes sense. The sense of urgency is an integral part of pulp 60's spy movies, so I couldn't resist.
Synopsis: The Federal Bureau of Super-Powered Affairs keeps a close eye on Crey, trying to find evidence about a suspected illicit superhero engineering program. You assist agent Janet Kellum following a lead about a potential breakthrough, only to find that this time, Crey have bitten off way more than they can chew; their meddling has awakened an ancient, all-but-forgotten enemy. Can you stop this old-new menace before it's too late?
Estimated Time to Play: 45 mins - 1.5 hours, depending on difficulty, team makeup, etc. Of the 4 maps, the first is Medium, the second is Small, the third one is a smallish outdoor map; the fourth one is also Small. The last two missions are timed, but my low-damage test team was able to finish with 1/2 of the clock remaining.

Arc Name: To Dream of Nothing
Arc ID: 374644
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Celestial Nemesis
Difficulty Level: Easy to moderate. Everything but the end boss is stock Council/Family/Nictus, but the level range is pretty low (5-10) to conform with the AE contest. The end boss is an EB, but it only has 'standard' powers and downgrades to a normal boss when running on no-bosses; you also have two LT-level allies with you to help. Tested with multiple low-level characters (bosses off) and high-level ones (bosses on).
Synopsis: A strange anomaly has nullified the powers of every powerful hero and villain in Paragon City; the only ones who can still use their powers are new heroes and petty villains. You are a new hero fresh after your first mission, and the FBSA sends you to Positron right away. He is desperately trying to find the cause of the anomaly, and asks you - as a hero who still has powers - to help him in his investigation.
Estimated Time to Play: ~1 hour. This arc also has 4 maps, and all of them are Small except for the third mission (which is Large, but still fairly small as far as abandoned warehouse maps go). Lots of text / clues, but most of it is optional and intended to add to the story instead of being mandatory to read.

(you can also catch me on 'Doom Metal'/'Luminous Knight'/'Dirge of the Cosmos'/'Professor Ohm' blueside if you got questions!)

Arc Name: They're Super Freaky!
Arc ID: 432786
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Driver 8
Difficulty Level: 1-20 solo friendly (I hope!)
Synopsis: Zombies have broken into a dance club and stolen the DJ's record collection. Why? Maybe they just wanna rock?
Estimated Time to Play: Pretty short, it's just one map. 15 mins?

This is my first go at the AE system. It's just a bite-sized bit of comedy fluff, but I hope it'll make you smile. I'd especially love feedback about the difficulty level; I want it to be non-frustrating for solos and duos at low levels, but not so easy it's boring. Also, if you have any negative feedback, don't be shy! I write for a living, I'm used to criticism.

My arc has a whole trailer for it! Enjoy
Of creatures great and small
A choose your own adventure Arc

(Note, read this as you would a movie trailer. Different color text are different people speaking. Black is the deep voiced narrator)

It was a peaceful and pedestrian day in Paragon City.
“Home of the free”
The members of MENSA, the high IQ society, were hosting a friendly chess tournament.
“Knight to B7”
“Argh, the royal fork gambit, well played child.”
Little did they know that murder was in the air, and that some of their members would not leave the tournament alive…
“What’s that yellow blur? My god! They’re dead”
“A Mouse spirit? Why….”

The race is on to find the killer.

“The politics of the Mice are none of my business, but when it means the death of innocents, I MAKE it my business, I need your help heroes”
Before it kills again
“Mouse spirits here too? I fled Paragon to get away from them!”
Signs point to a vengeful spirit, but who?
“I just saw a yellow blur, I couldn’t make out any details…”
And why?
“Mouse spirits have an affinity for intelligent people, what would drive one to murder them?”
Is it a powerful entity visiting from across the planes?
“We’ve had no trouble at all with the Mice until IT showed up.”
Or has one of Paragon’s heroes turned down a dark and deadly path.
“Did you really kill those people?”

You are the detective, judge and jury in this summer’s biggest little murder mystery.
Determine who is guilty,
“You are not above the law, Mouse!”
Who is innocent
“He’s got an iron clad alibi.”
“DAMMIT!”
and the fate of everyone involved.
“a-are you going to kill me too?”

Two possible paths, four different endings; the choice is yours.

This summer, don’t miss

“Of Creatures Great and Small”

“I need you to lie to MAGI!”
“Why should I listen to you?”

<fin>

(Arc #435474)

(Between now and the release of Going Rogue, the ending most often chosen by players will become cannon for the characters involved. In the event of a tie, the ending most recently voted on by a player will win. Feel free to play through both branches, but please only cast one vote)

Galactic Piracy for Fun and Profit
ID: 439293
After stealing some Rikti tech from Longbow, Arachnos can finish off the construction on humanity's first FTL starship... and, of course, use it to commit interstellar piracy. Sign up here for a chance to steal from Longbow, steal from some (mostly) harmless alien civilians, and just possibly face off against whatever passes for military or the police out there if something goes wrong. Whats the worst that could happen?

Arc Name: A Vague Notion

Arc ID: 451725

Faction: Heroic

Creator Global: @Hero Prime

Difficulty Level: Medium High - This arc is soloable with Arch-Villain spawns turned off, but probably not if you intend to fight the AVs instead of EBs.

Synopsis: Vagary Keller, known by her registered hero name as Little Miss Vagary, has been kidnapped, but retrieving her may be only the beginning of a much longer tale that includes the revelation that one of Paragon City's most celebrated philanthropists has a dark secret.

Estimated Time to Play: One hour to ninety minutes, depending on your settings.

Important Notes: This arc is largely able to be done by just about any level from 5 to 54, though the fourth mission will auto-sidekick low level characters up to 46, if they are not already sidekicked to that level or higher. The contact for the arc is Nigel Kaine, also known as Lore, the Arcanist in residence for Tangent. He's a bit of a kook, so be sure to read through all his text. Have fun, and let me know if you find any bugs!

Where do we go from here?

It is the year 2016. Two years ago, a solar cataclysm all but destroyed life on Earth; the few survivors of the disaster hid underground or sought other means of shelter. Now, a month after the fury of the Sun has subsided once again, the various survivor factions all over the globe scramble to reclaim what is now known as the... Scorched Earth.

The two arcs below take place at the same time (it's not an arc series, though you might recognize certain connections once you played both). They are level 20-25 (a necessity due to the enemy groups involved) -- however, I've playtested them with low and high level characters alike.

Arc Name: Kali's Scythe
Arc ID: 445456
Faction: Heroic or Vigilante. Neutral is a stretch.
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Zaphir
Difficulty Level: Easy. Only stock Lost/Circle of Thorns/Hydra/??? for the most part; the end boss is a (standard) EB, but you have a boss-level ally to help.
Synopsis: You've spent the last two years in a secret Vanguard bunker under Atlas Park along with a handful of Vanguard personnel and some civilians. As the only hero denizen, you have a difficult task ahead of you -- try to find survivors, deal with any dangers that might be lurking outside, and search for clues relevant to the cause of the disaster.
Estimated Time to Play: 45 minutes, maybe more if you do all the (optional) objectives and read the text.
Link to More Details or Feedback: Arc / setting thread

Arc Name: To Reign in Hell
Arc ID: 448234
Faction: Villain or Rogue.
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Zaphir
Difficulty Level: Moderate. Standard enemy groups (Arachnos, Legacy Chain, ???) with a custom EB end boss. You have at least a powerful Lieutenant-level ally at your disposal to deal with the end boss, along with other sources of help if you're crafty.
Synopsis: You got lucky when the disaster hit -- you were loitering in Grandville and your survival instinct led you to a nearby high-security shelter. After knocking out the guards, you locked yourself into what was apparently the private bunker of an Arachnos Arbiter with its own power source, food and drink aplenty, a huge television and enough DVDs to last you a lifetime. Two years later the control panel indicates that it is safe to go topside once more. Time to seize your opportunity and make the best of this disaster!
Estimated Time to Play: 45 minutes, maybe more if you do all the (optional) objectives and read the text.
Link to More Details or Feedback: Arc / setting thread
Note: Your contact in this arc is the Television, with all the soft character mind-control / silliness that implies. If you don't like Television, stay away!
