ARC ID: 112799

Title: OmegaVerse Mash-Up #1-#4: Breakdown
Faction: Infected, Skulls, Hellions, Custom Baddies, Arachnos
Creator Global/Forum Name: @ZaxOmegaVerse
Morality: Heroic
Length: 4 Small to Medium maps
Difficulty Level: Fairly Easy; 4 Bosses, no Elite Bosses nor Arch-Villains; designed for lowbies level 1-15.
Synopsis: The Add-Man gets wind that the Skulls are pushing a new drug. But a noncombat superhero team is working the situation as its very first case.

Designer's Notes: This is an introduction to the OmegaVerse, a 15-year old tabletop campaign that I ran as Editor-In-Chief. All names of the opponents herein are up for play, and I own the names personally. If I can find a team of four redside players, I'd be very happy to give up the names, backstories, and even e-mail the .costume files and background text files for the characters. Basically, a villain team can get an origin story for free!

I've had good informal reviews so far that the story is above average and that the XP is great for low level characters, which is what I was aiming for. The climactic Mission 5 will be added as soon as I can figure out how to get four unique baddies in one place on one map at the same time. Assistance in this mechanic would be greatly appreciated.

Arc Title: The Franchise
Faction: RIP, Vahzilok
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Attercap
Morality: Villainous
Suggested Player Levels: 1-20
Length: Long (2 longer missions sandwiching a quick middle one)
Description: Arbiter Pepper needs your help investigating some foul-smelling crates that have made their way to the Rogue Isles. This arc isn't for the faint of heart or weak of stomach!

Designer's Notes: This is based around a Cape Radio "advertisement", but hopefully the joke(s) don't require knowledge or tuning in. Suggestions on improvement are welcome and appreciated!

Arc Name: Timescapades
Arc ID: 118289
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: Assisace / Assisace
Difficulty Level: Medium (Dependant on your resistance to holds, I suppose). No EBs.
Synopsis: A rogue CoT mage has learned an infernal secret that allows him to time-travel. Your task is to stop him and keep your future intact, guided by an infernal keeper of the timestream. You will see the corrupted present, the past, and the corrupted post-apocalyptic future.
Estimated Time to Play: "Long", four missions -- first can be a little lengthy, the second is on a small cave map, and the final two are outdoors and you can skip to the single necessary objective in them. So, at a minimum, I'd say you could solo this in half an hour or less (Dependant on your character). I'd rather you took your time and did some exploring, of course. Level range is 40-50.
Other Notes: Please do take a look around in each mission. There are multiple easter eggs / references (Of the "homage" sort, I guess) in the arc. Also, you can stay in the first mission after it completes and beat the boss up repeatedly.

Arc Name: The Origin of Heroes
Arc ID: 73293
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: Still Assisace
Difficulty Level: Medium-hard. One EB, and a fair amount of endurance-drainers.
Synopsis: Take an interactive look back at how two separate heroes got mixed up in the hero business. One is about robots and Trolls, the other is about monkeys and Carnies.
Estimated Time to Play: "Medium", two missions. Multiple objectives in each mission, so you'll probably spend the same amount of time here as you would in an arc with more missions. The first mission's maximum level range is 20 (Trolls... sorry); the other goes to 50.

Arc Name: Collective Trouble
Arc ID: 77996
Faction: You fight The Great Endarkenment and his minions
Creator Global/Forum Name: Red Icicle
Difficulty Level: Medium
Synopsis: The Great Endarkenment has stolen Mankind's Collective Unconscious and it's up to you retrieve it before all of Paragon falls back into the dark ages
Estimated Time to Play: 40 minutes

A story-driven arc that spans 5 missions. Help JC Grulan locate and retrieve mankind's Collective Unconscious before the villian, the Great Endarkenment, can drain it and cause all of mankind to fall back into the dark ages.

Several Easter eggs are stashed throughout the missions, including in the dialog, names, clues, etc, which reference everything from history, psychology, and famous (and not-so-famous) quotes.

Post your findings Here

Good Luck

FOR EXAMPLE

Death for dollars (solo) / Death for Dollars Extreme ( team heavy AOE)
RATING: 4 stars
Mission 1
3 prizes 3 bosses
Strenght: nice use of villans. I thought names were creative and I liked how the beginning had START. Felt like a video game. The ambushes surprised me. No spelling errors! Love the name death for dollars sound like a spaghetti western.
Limitations: I didn’t like the use of the word KILL. For some reason there were more glowies than not and I couldn’t avoid not doing the optional
Mission 2
Destroy as many opponents as you can for REAL CASH! 3 Fabulous Prizes up for grabs! (optional), Defeat Nukelotron!
Strenghts: love the game show aspect. Good use of multi color type. Great spelling no errors found. Im very interested in it. Robots looked better than one devs had for AV arc.Like the speech by gameshow host. Very entertaining ending
Limitations: sort of seen this mission before maybe change it to out of lab like maybe a RWZ map or casino.Kept wondering what you meant by real cash.would change replicator to something else name was very good but a little cliché. Too many replicators at the end might want to spread them out
Mission 3
Complete the Final Round! Steel Canyon
Strenghts: NEW CAR I was excited. Was a bonus prize too after a trip to st martial! Yay finally get to arrest Chip! Ozone Jones! I love the name
Limitations: arachnos map I hate it. Change custom to like 1000 chips and 1000 hostess love the hostess btw but was tired of replicators
Overall Comment: overly enjoyable would play again but problem I had was the arachnos map and the replicators. Also I never got a new car!

i will usually 3 to 4 star unless exceptional and i would never one star an arc unless really bad spelling

Win the Past, Own the Future
RATING: 3 star
Mission 1
Discover the identity of the escapee 6 key villains to defeat
Strenghts: good map! Love the zig. Freaks and dr vahs and malta wow nice multi use of villans. I knew dr vahs was a mm good power making.
Limits: maybe make clockwork queen? King been overused. Couldn’t find the last 2 key villans. Quit after first mission because of it. Might want to name them in nav

The point of that mission is that existing villains who have been defeated and put in the Zig are breaking out, so a Clockwork Queen wouldn't make any sense. I originally used the actual AVs, but people kept complaining about it being too hard in Beta.

Naming them in the Nav would ruin the surprise of who is there, and, sadly, wouldn't help people find those last 1 or 2 villains. There are two problems with using that map: there's a boss spawn that they put on a catwalk that nobody ever checks, and there's an indoor portion when you click on the last set of sewer grates that lots of people don't know about and don't think to try. Also, (assuming they never fixed it) there's that 2-5% chance that an objective doesn't spawn at all due to a bug on certain maps. My options are basically to not use the map or hope people explore more. The arc doesn't work without the map.

At this point I'm debating just deleting it. It's really disappointing getting so little play and low ratings (from those who aren't teamed with me to help them find the spawns) when it does get played, after getting Dev's Choice for it in Beta.

Oh well. Thanks for playing my arcs, Cien!

Jaunt into dataspace
RATING: 4 stars
Mission 1
Enter the combat simulation Talos Island

Strenghts: good name. intrigued by possibility.Nice map. Also loved name of the targets
Limits: felt like it needed a boss or a eb. Ranged and melee are good targets but I felt you needed something stronger. Felt like I was farming

Mission 2
Search files, avoid security Find Crey's files on you
Strenghts: yay crey. No one ever uses crey. Dazzled by how good the choice of villans was in this map. Great map. Enjoyed the enemy in this one.
Limits: using dark powers for robots. Imo should be energy auras and super strengths maybe electricity maybe fire maybe energy might even be stalkers with nrg punch. Set an ambush after each clue is found might make it funner.
Mission 3
Rescue the Doctor Talos Island
Strenghts: good name don’t have many doctor rescues in game mostly lawyers and FEMA workers. Yay wherehouse map. Nice way to make it unstealthable yay crey
Limits: too few ambushes id add more. Maybe diff map but this one is good

Arc Name: Counting Electric Sheep

Arc ID: 118145
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Ellis
Difficulty Level: Medium (has an EB/AV)

Synopsis: Tired of spending millions in R&D on Artificial Intelligence, only to have their AI become sentient and escape, Crey decides to do something about it. Their plan to retrieve all their lost AI could have bad consequences for everyone!

Estimated Time to Play: Depends. Can be stealth solo'd in 10 minutes by capable archetype or can be 90 minutes in a full team RPing out the story.

This is an arc I wrote for a special RP event my SG was having, but it's not specific to the SG. It's supposed to be a fun, somewhat tongue-in-cheek deal. The second mission is level 32, so it's not going to be one of your big XP earners. But if you enjoy sci-fi and computer history, you might like this.

Revenge of Frostfire
RATING: 4 stars
Mission 1
Rescue Frostfire ( timed!)

Strenghts: im still laughing at the contacts name. great map. Longbow yay!
Limits: felt like it needed a boss or a eb. If u don’t know the map hard to find frostfire I knew it because on previous review I commented about how hard to find last two bosses. Art attack was better concept but froistfire is underused.

Mission 2
Atlas
Strenghts: I love police station maps . Yay finally get to arrest flux!

Limits: make flux harder.
Mission 3
Atals park
Strenghts felt a strength in this is frostfire is really sympathetic. You kinda wanna help him out
Limits: felt cut scene would have helped and more outdoor maps
Mission 4
Stop Frostfire
Strenghts: makes sense. Good map. Usually don’t like defeatall but this one isn’t too bad .Frostfire extremely hard to solo.
Limitations: maybe customize the outcast so higher level? I would have done better again st frost fire if could have used lvl 30 powers

as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.

If at first you don’t succeed
Rated : 3 stars
Mission 1
If At First You Don't Succeed Part I - The Electronics Thief catch op trucco
STrenghts: good name. like mishes like this with capture =). Map is kind of cofusing but very logical in why it s that map.
Limitations: maybe custom make trucco into a mm?

Mission 2
Part 2- zig breakout
Strenghts- prisoners! Yay I love them were they custom or originals?
Limitations: third zig map ive seen seems overused a lot. Seemd too easy to end I just found nails and vanquished.
Mission 3
Find gamma ray
Strengths good name. arachnos are underused but again maybe custom to be harder.
Limits * yawn* old office seen thousands of times. Once I went tru first I was bored and stealthed this one. He was very easy to kill he was only a lt.
my review of mission 4 and 5 mysteriously disappeared

This arc is my first foray into the MA, and it was a blast. My wife, brother-in-law, and I created a farcical "leprechaun meets power ranger" trio a few months after coh went live. This arc presents the introduction of the Lepretrons to Paragon city. It is 5 missions of mostly medium sized maps. There is an AV at the end. I soloed it with a couple of different characters on low difficulty settings, but at rugged I was getting the AV to spawn while solo. Anyway, I hope someone plays it! Thanks in advance for all constructive criticism.

Arc Name: Leapin' Lepretrons
Arc ID: 131775
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @terzaghi
Difficulty Level: Medium
Synopsis:You are selected to lead the investigation for a report of a missing dog. What you find is that a new villain has launched a campaign on the citizens of Paragon City. Why is he here? What does he want? You will need to figure it all out to stop him.
Estimated Time to Play: 2 - 3 hours
