Out of curiosity, what exactly do you mean by 'unknowable' (if that question can be asked)? Do you mean the vast and incomprehensible, like Rularuu or some other lovecraftian horror?
-
Having a very odd issue. When I go to load a costume, the costume folder appears as empty. The actual costume folder located in my computer's files has everything of mine in it, and everything appears to be labeled correctly. Any thoughts?

I think the one that immediately jumps to mind is Automated Villainy, Technician Naylor's arc, if for no other reason than that it freaked me the hell out the first time I did it.
I think a nice touch is the fact that when your identity is called into question Naylor says that he believes you, and that he's come to respect you over the course of your work together.
Aaron Walker of course is also a favorite. -
Hardcase isn't a jerk, he's a schizophrenic. He spends half his appearances being a sort of "for the greater good, no one deserves to die that way" and half of them saying "Let's draw wailers towards Paragon City and get paid!" But he's a pretty cool guy.
The only thing he does in Verandi's arc is try to stop you from being an idiot and give you an excuse to stop talking to her, which is something I am all too happy to do.
Verandi talks down to me, acts like I'm her little puppet, is generally creepy and wierd, and is one of those really awful contacts that I can't think of any characters who would stick with her past the first mission.
Oh, and can I punch Kelly Uqua in her face? -
Live me the ability to beat the crap out of Vivacious Verandi and I am IN.

"Yesterday's Nemesis, Tommorrow's Lord" - Arc ID #243821
Keywords: Canon-related, Challenging, Sci-fi
Length: Very Long
Morality: Heroic
Enemy Groups: Nemesis, Nemesis Automatons, Custom Group
Description: Unusual Nemesis activity? Surely it's just FBSA Agent Maxwell Christopher being paranoid again. Or, maybe not. Maybe it's a villainous plot with the goal of changing the very world as we know it...
A soloable but difficult arc - bring inspirations. Finally finished, and looking for feedback. -
My opinion:
These reviews are hilarious and I want more.
Galactic Hobo, this is the internet. No one is going to agree with you, you're not going to agree with the others, and TE13 is not going to stop the reviews because of whatever you say. Let's stop hijacking the thread and wait for the next review, please. -
The way I put it?
Recluse has immense technological means but absurd and camp motivations. Nemesis and Malta have absurd and camp means but cutting-edge motivations. They win. -

1) Is there a set costume for either of the two? Invisible Falcon never really appears, as far as I know, and Shining Light is only shown in a Paragon Protector outfit (again, as far as I know).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, obviously he never appears, he's Invisible!
My questions have to do with everyone's favorite mad seer, Diviner Maros. Namely:
1) What exactly is his relationship with the rest of the Circle? Is he a proper member of the Circle of Thorns that the rest of them are just afraid of, or does he really operate on his own?
2) What happened to him at the end of Time After Time? Where'd he go? What's he doing now? -
THANK YOU. Someone else who understands how incredibly worthless Total Domination is! Every one of the changes to that you've suggested are /signed and double /signed. So very much needed.
Telekinesis could indeed stand some help - I like the plan of making the spread smaller. When I originally took the power way back in the day I just thought it was a hold that drained alot of endurance but didn't have a natural "duration" (and I still wouldn't mind seeing it become that, but I think it definitely violates the Cottage Rule).
I don't know about the damage component. You could maybe finagle it into working, but I have a suspicion that the number-crunchers would think "Great heavens! This power does damage? We must nerf its recharge and duration into the Dark Ages in order to compensate for this .50% of a minion's health per tick!" I still haven't forgotten about Alkaloid's absurd endurance cost because it gives Toxic resistance.
For Telekinesis I'd say just go with the fixed hold. Really major changes to it would violate the Cottage Rule and get the changes shot down, so I say just go with the spread. If anyone has any ideas for some other effect for Telekinesis that would work let's hear them, because the power does need help.
Mind/s unite! -
I want to say that in the Ally menu, there's a menu to select how tough you want the mob guarding them to be - if you set this to "single" the ally will be alone, with no guards.
-
This is a game in which people can perform Eagles Claw.
I think it's honestly implied that alot of Nemesis' technology - particularly his guns - are advanced modern weapons dressed up as steampunk weapons because Nemesis has a Victorian fetish. You could explain just about everything he has this way, and then whatever's left (exploding bayonets and the weather control device) can be left up to Rule of Cool. Seriously. This is a comic book game. What do we expect, Micheal Crichton? -

Arc #1579, "The Council's Long Con"
tl;dr: 4 stars. Offenses: low challenge, some unusual spawn choices
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the review.
I think your two problems are due to the newest patch. I thought I fixed the problems last night, when another reviewer pointed out similar issues, but it seems they didn't take or something.
Anyway, in the latest patch, Colonel Duray was removed from the list of selectable enemies for the Sky Raiders. Instead, it defaulted him to a Jump Bot. Kaku was originally a Engineer, and they got removed too, so he got defaulted to a Jump Bot as well.
I thought I fixed it last night by turning Duray into Captain Castillo and Kaku into a Porter. But either I did it with my local file or didn't hit republish right or it didn't take or something.
I've gone back and fixed it. Anyway, the challenge would have been somewhat higher with Duray as opposed to a Jump Bot and even with Castillo it should be bumped up somewhat.

For the record, something I discovered the other day, for anyone else having a problem with changes not taking: Autosave is the devil. Alot of the time, changes you make will be saved to the autosave file and not the one you're clicking on when you go to edit. So watch out for that. -
"A Tale of Two Cities, Part One: The Mageguard of Oranbega
Arc ID: 78117
Missions: 5
Description: Diviner Maros has come to you with a mission: Safeguard the Circle of Thorns against an incursion from another dimension. He pays well, but what is this wily Seer's real agenda?
My attempt at writing Diviner Maros. I want to know how I did! Also my first major experiment with a custom group, I'd love to hear about that, too. The first of three planned arcs: does anyone want to see more? This needs testing and review! -
I don't know if I'm allowed to post two-parters, but I'd like to put forward my arc:
"Operation: Black Heart, Acts I and II"
Arc IDs: 1621 and 1629, respectively
A tale of conspiracy and evil plots, that was my attempt to write an arc that effectively included a wide variety of groups and sort of "spanned the city." Parts of it are slightly awkward due to it being written for more than one contact (we didn't know the limitations of the MA when I wrote it)
I have a worry that you may consider the end of this arc to be the Idiot Ball, but I'm not sure, and I'd appreciate you taking a look at it, if you ever get around to it. XD -
Re-posting mine with Live Arc IDs.
Operation: Black Heart, Acts I and II
Arc IDs: Part 1: 1621, Part 2: 1629
A favor for a friend puts Maxwell Christopher onto an evil plot that could shake the city to its core. Can you crack the conspiracy linking the city's villains to it? What is the "Black Heart"? And how far will they go to protect that secret? Can you help the FBSA agent find out the truth?
Looking for feedback! This arc was written before we knew the specifics of the Architect, and alot of it is a bit awkward due to text limits and mission limits. -

Looking for feedback! Due to being written before we knew the details of the Architect, it's a little awkwardly split up. I'd love to see some opinions.
Also, Ascendant, did Saul Rubenstein's Discount task force. Bloody brilliant. -
Review of "A Deal With Destiny"
You put a lot of effort into it, but alot of my enjoyment - at least of the first few missions - was hampered by many little things like lack of punctuation and typos. All the Circle of Thorns characters seems very out of character, too. However, the overall concept of the arc was really cool (I love stories written for lower level heroes) and the fourth and fifth missions were really great. I laughed at out loud at "Force Multiplier" and PPD Sergeant Johnson, and you did a very good job of making the huge Kings Row map feel full and busy.
In the fifth mission I thought the backwards-speaking Hellions were nothing short of brilliant, and the Prince of the Damned - as well as a the fake ending with the Shaper of Destiny - pleasantly surprised me. I gave it three stars, but I writing this I think it deserved four.

67: You go to Perez at 32 as a Mind Controller and instigate new gang wars.
68: You go to Perez at 32 as a Mind Controller and instigate new gang wars whole saying in a deep voice, "weak-minded fools."
I'm a repeat offender on both counts, by the way. -
Psykera's favorite weapon is her right foot. She has had her boots reinforced, and uses them to kick people. In the nuts.
Her signature attack is to stride into a room, force field deflecting all manner of projectiles flying at her, and unleash a psionic torrent. It pretty much turns anyone in her line of sight into a vegetable. I envision this looking like Terrify, but much bigger, and probably tinged red. Psy would only use this attack in dire circumstances, or if she was unimaginably angry.
Major Hellsborough's weapons of choice are a pair of dartguns of his own design. They can be wielded like dual pistols, and can be loaded with various types of poison darts. Choice posions include neurotoxin to severely disable the target's offensive abilities (Weaken) and an acidic compound that eats through armor and shields (Envenom). He also possesses a large weapon similar to a flamethrower or an N2 cannon, which mists a canister of neurotoxin to spray a large group of enemies.
For a "signature attack" I'd have to envision the Major headshotting an armored Rikti with an acid capsule, and then ordering his sniper, Sgt. Menchez, to put a few rounds through the weakened helmet. -
"You just got Sarged."
"Death to the False Emperor!"
"Ah! Excellent! We've aquired the plans for a Kronos Class Titan! Now, make these changes to the design: Stick All manner of spiderish parts on, but make sure they're made of aluminum, as long as they do absolutely nothing. Then armor the reactor totally inadequately and put a large red dot next to it."
