I absolutely loved the parody of "In the Year 2525". Fantastic.

  3. Just dropping a note to say so long.

I know I haven't posted much lately. I've been lurking around here checking out all your artz and admiring in silent like the silent fowl protector I am. However, it's time for me to move on. Truth is, I've lost interest in my art, and have grown bored with the game. Current RL issues have indicated that it's time for me to pack things in for the time being and make room for another feathered defender of the night.

If you want to keep in touch, I'm on twitter as "turkeycreaux" and I still check out DeviantArt everyday, even though I'm not posting anything.

So may your pencils stay sharp and your inks not smear. The Turkey may return someday, and I'll always be watching....

    Older Dr Who...

Someone hipped me on to this, a free website where you can watch old Dr. Who episodes for free. Thought I'd pass it on....

I'm sure there will still be a way to utilize tech support, people with kids need more tech support than anyone!

  6. You CAN opt out RealID, via the magic of PARENTAL CONTROLS! Simply by setting up the PCs you automatically opt out. Dunno how it will work with the forums, but this will protect you in game.

  7. I want to thank everyone that helped out by purchasing something from my shop.

Unfortunately, my mother did not make it and passed away. However, her sister, my wife, my daughter, and I were able to be by her side when she died (the extra funds from your purchases helped make that possible), so that was a small measure of comfort.

Thanks again, you are a wonderful community.

    I appreciate that DE! Thanks!

I know that they've done a Freem shirt for conventions, so I probably shouldn't do one myself. =)

  10. Thanks everyone!

DE: I hear you about the t-shirts. I have a long torso myself, and lots of "insulation" too. Plus, I enjoy a nice loose shirt, so I got 4X and it fit me quite comfortably. Of the shirts we got for my family, there hase been no noticible shrinkage after several washes, and they still all fit pretty much the same as we got it. They're pretty decent quality (which is one of the reasons why I went with Printfection instead of Cafe Press), not sure about the other garments. Of course, you have to pay extra for the larger sizes (above 2x), but that's the price we above average persons have to pay. =)

Bubba: Yeah, it's doing it for me right now too. Not sure why that is, it was fine this morning....

    Thanks again!

  11. Hi all, long time no see.

Lots of craziness going on in my life lately, which has kept me from drawing, and making me true to my name (the "Lurkey" part, not the "Turkey" part). But I find myself asking for a bit of help if possible.

My mother took ill last week, and we had to take her to the ER. Long story short, several of her organs have failed and she is currently in an ICU downstate in what's basically a coma. I'm finding myself in need of funds, but I just don't have the time to do commissions (plus I still have those freebees I promised to do still) and I'm not the kind of guy to ask for or wants free hand-outs.

However, I have this t-shirt shop, Creaux Industries, that if you happen to find something you like and were to buy a shirt or whatever, it would help out greatly. All profits from the shop are currently going towards her medical expenses and my travel expenses.

    Thanks for your time.

  14. I'm having the same problem, my 4 year badge should have been awarded on the 24th. I'm wondering if the datamining/awarding for the Vigilant/Determined badge is interfering with the Vet badges....

  17. I had Sailboat's character, L'Oriflamme.

    Quote:
    L'Oriflamme

In 1789, young Chantal S'Embraser was no friend of the dissolute monarchy of France, but an historian by trade. When the revolutionaries came to the abbey of St.-Denis to destroy the artifacts there, she could not bear to let them take the Oriflamme, legendary war banner of Charlemagne. Over the centuries it had been raised to signify the Kings of France committing to war!

Unfortunately, the revolutionaries' sense of grievance outweighed their sense of history, and in the riot, Chantal was burned along with the Oriflamme.

Chantal had performed no miracles, and was not a candidate for sainthood. But the simple purity of her short life and her death in defense of history made an impression in Heaven, and she was granted a rare honor. Chantal was elevated to Angelic status, recreated as an Aspect of War.

After centuries of training, she has returned to earth -- not for vengeance, but to mete out justice with a flaming sword!

Chantal = song, S'embraser = to inflame, to rise in arms!

I really liked her backstory, so I didn't come up with a new one, I just modified the costume, focusing on the warrior angel aspect, blending in aspects of Charlemagne's Oriflamme, as seen here: http://flagspot.net/flags/fr_orif.html#ren

The sword was an approximation of a flaming sword.

  19. I haven't forgotten about these. RL has me in upheaval what with a death in the family, dealing with a new job, and being solo with my little one while the spouse has been doing the theatre thing. I haven't even had time to mow my lawn...our dog went into the back yard last week and we haven't seen him since! Probably those darn chipmunks.

Anyways, I do have some pencils down, I just need to find time to throw inks on top of them. Hoping to have said time this weekend sometime.

    In the meantime, enjoy this:
