NCNC is in the Bay Area. They have no 'seasons' there, so how could they tell?

Well, i'm told there was a similar misison last year, but i missed it, but there is another addition that the dev's dont seem to be telling us about.
There is a new contact in Atlas (behind Ms. Liberty) and one in Mercy (near the fateweaver) to steal/rescue the anniversary gifts for Manticore/Psyche.
No badge or temp power rewards, one time mission. No request to see them when you're the right level (any level i think), not mentioned in the event notes...
Yay! More recycled Snaptooth.

there is nothing new. i've done it too many times on too many toons to bother with another year. Plz include new material for those of us who feel we already pay for the content at next years valentines day event.

Logged on for the first time in a while. Used the Pocket D VIP pass. Got to the D. Thought about doing the same old thing over again. Couldn't stand the thought of it. Logged off. I am thinking I will not be doing the Fling thing and will have logged on for about 30 seconds during this event.
Yeah, this game is just the same old same old. Time to explore other options. I don't think I can wait for CHAMPS. Might move sooner.
Don't we have writers? I don't understand why they can't go to the lead writer and say "Hey, take three days next week and make a new story arc for Valentines" Recycling Snaptooth over and over and over for every holiday is not even funny anymore. I realize they have alot to do, but considering the small amount of new content (missions/storyarcs) we get in new issues....what exactly are the writers doing?
From what I've seen already V-day is a bust. Not a lot in Pocket D. Most people begging for a villian to help them out. Lucky to find one. Took forever to get to the DJ mission and its what a quick 30 secs...(fly to snaptooth kill him! fin) that was a very big disappointment. Well got the costumes on one male and one female toon. The wreath and sandles are pretty good. The heart overlay isn't worth the run imho. The toga doesnt allow the roman or valkyrie chest piece so you cant look like some of the roman guards with the cloth skirt but armor on top bummer.
Did the find the presents mission... really its just another blinky crate same as random radio mission. Really dropped the ball there. Nothing for the end either?!!
Really dont feel like doing the missions again for any more toons. But might make a throw a way villian just so the sg can do all the missions this weekend.
After the great Halloween and X-mas this is so disapointing. Can you at least open the ski slopes back up?

Roses to give to people like X-mas present.
Already said in thread boxers with hearts.. you already have boxing truncks just reskin them.
Co-op mission where you need a female toon and a male toon duo to do the mission.

these are left over from the valentines event last year from the wedding event. thats probably why the devs didn't mention it. the missions only make sense during the wedding event from last year.

Honestly, I could care less if they drafted new stories etc because they would likely use the exact same maps or tile sets. No thanks. I cannot stand that and it happens all the time with this game...it makes me puke.
As I said ingame tonight to my one team, I have a theory as to why this year's event is a carbon copy of last year. I feel that the devs put so much effort into Issue 13 - both the issue itself and all the patches and re-patches needed to try and save it from the crapper - that there was no time left to put something new together for Spring Fling.
And before anyone says anything, I am glad that the devs have such grand plans for this game, really I do. It's just that time and again they seem to be blind to the little details that enivitably trip them up.

I'm in agreement that them focusing on i14 rather than sweating V-Day is a good thing, although I'd love a "shots" emote so you can sit at the bar at D and express your feelings towards the holiday ;P
Oh, and am I the only one who's displeased with the fact that you can't give inspirations to your oposite side for the missions? Not being able to give a wakie is a real pain, especially when you can't rez.
For the most part all I've read are people complaining there's nothing new.
While that's almost a valid complaint (anything is better than nothing... I see Events as a bonus on top of your original game cost. If you're really playing for the events, why not cancel your account on the months there are none?), here's a better question:
For someone who hasn't played in any of the valentine's/spring fling events before, what IS there for us to get and how?
too bad there wasn't even a badge for logging in. No biggie, I still need to get around to the bajillion zombie and rikti invasions that go on each night.

We'll see how you feel about in four years when your playing the same Snaptooth mission for the thousandth time.
I don't have a problem with running the same missions over again, as I have plenty of alts that I want to get the goodies for that I had to ignore the last two years.
What I am peeved at tonight was the inordinate number of players who were insisting that they were doing the mishs for xp, and if you were too low you would be sidekicked. I felt like going on Broadcast and saying, "Hey, if you want xp, then go do regular mishs, a lot of players just want to get the event goodies, or help lowbie players get them easily."
Heck, I've been on both sides on that one. I've gotten mishs on a lowbie toon for mid- to high-level toons to blow through, and I've brought in my upper-teen/low-twenties toons to blaze through a level 2's mish. (There were times during the winter event when my toon had the needed badges and canes, but kept doing the mish until everyone on the team got what they needed.)

I was hoping for some changes to this like they did Winter. Even adding in more things we could get and purchase.
I was hoping for a tie in with last year's Manitcore and Sister Psyche wedding.
On the bright side I am enjoying doing the mishes with my wife.
I went on the other night and I found the new V-Day contact in Atlas just by Ms. Liberty. I ran the mission solo just to see what it was.
Did anybody else bother to read the 'clues' as you were running the mission? I got the impression that the developers were dropping a fairly large hint in one of them. Did anybody else feel that way?
Oh, you mean the tickets to Moonbase Alpha? The Luna Zone has been discussed for well over a year here, and still no results. In fact, there was speculation that the construction in Port Oakes just west of the ferry to Mercy Island was an intended connection to the zone red-side.
BTW, that mish is exactly like last year's, save for the change of one word in both one clue and the contact's plea. (They changed 'wedding gifts' and 'wedding night outfit' to 'annversary gifts' and 'anniversary night outfit'. Mind you, why anyone would keep a gag gift from a bachelorette party for over a year is beyond me.)

Okay, I'd like to know when - if ever - people are on? I still have 7 alts on Infinity that I have to try and get all this done by Sunday. (And I'm about ready to give up on Weed Whacker and/or Coldblooded for the rest of them if things keep going at the pace they are.)
I just left Pocket D right now, totally disgusted - and I think there was a massive server-side problem, as me and another team member both DC'd at the same time - due to a complete lack of teams or willingness to run the mishs.
Ex, up until now I've been one of those who have been saying that it's okay that there's nothing new. But now I'm starting to wonder if it would have hurt so much to have put is a small token NEW content just to keep people's interest?

People are always on Virtue.
I actually don't mind nothing new this year. It'll allow me to get the badges/costumes for the few alts I care about, and then not worry about it. I have to admit, all I really want is the badge/costume unlocks. I've grown tired of the missions themselves.
My wife and I usually just pair a low lvl villain with high hero, or vice versa, and just rip through them as fast as possible.
