I was planning my kin def since she doesn't have the badges yet for the STF. I do have emp def and D3 def - which may be a bit more needed here for the debuffing than a kin def. If anything else, got a grav/ff control that can bring some more def and force bubble on the bane spawn at end.

GP - Just FYI, in the guide section, there are MSTF guides and such, so if you more detailed info, they will have it.

I had two questions since we are discussing this.

For LR and damage auras. My understanding was that if LR is damaged by these aura, he will spawn his banes. I assume a damage aura can be turned off and keep your def/res up? (and I don't know fire tanks at all, only got an ice tank)

And second, in my experience, when LR is taunted at range and by a flyer, he only uses his ranged attack. This makes it a little hard if the healer can't fly. But if concern for the KB, shouldn't hover/fly provide the needed help?

Hover/fly doesn't provide KB protection like it use to; they changed it to where you'll flip in the air and can't activate any powers during this time and can't fly away while flipping. It's kind of annoying.

Not sure if this is the case if you have KB protection greater than the KB power used on you and are still hovering.

I really doubt this'll be a MSTF run. I actually haven't done the STF in....well a long time now. Not sure if anything has been altered any.

Interesting. Crazy after all the time playing, I don't have hover on any toon, never used fly for KB protection if it was possible.

PS - Pol, was j/k earlier about my emp def retiring.

I ignored your emp reference because you lumped me in with those others. That's just inconceivable!

I hope it's not an MSTF run... first off, this is GP's first try, and secondly, my MA/DA Scrapper is a little squishy.

True, of course.

I might be busy at this time

Hover still works well for KB protection. You just get flipped, not thrown back, so the time where you are "knocked back" is a lot shorter than it would be. Also, if you're mezzed, you continue hovering. So you don't fall into melee range of anything nasty like a Rikti boss any more, which is handy.

As for the KB, well, this is why it's retarded that Dark and Fire Tanks don't have -KB resistance. The -KB in the other sets just dwarfs Acrobatics as well as the -KB IOs, and it makes overpowered things like this just harder to tank. Fire already has less resists, etc. so adding the kb on top of it is stupid. I have 2 -KB recipes on Grey and am working towards a third via merits or inf, whatever comes first, but it doesn't sound like a third will help anyways. Oh well.

While this is certainly not a Master run, it's nice to know all the tricks so maybe I can do one at some point with Grey, so this will be interesting.

I am still running Acro on my Fire/SS, with one IO slotting in Temp Protection for a bit extra coverage.

No, this will not be a MSTF run.

Looking to start at 9.

I searched everywhere and can't find it but someone, I think on Champion, does a quick STF where they pull GW, Sirrocco, Mako and BS all at once. They also do this as a Master of, but they said with Nukes and Shivans all 4 go down in about 30 seconds. There's a video somewhere and it is just amazing. They target GW first then Mako because he will elude or run.

Anyway, gl to everyone.

Isn't that group mostly Rad/* Defenders? With sufficient debuffs, such heroics are possible, but in a regular team with representatives from every AT it's more difficult.

Eh, I have seen it done on an MSTF run. Rad/ def, cold/ def, /therm contr, /kin contr, 2 blasters, 1 scrapper, 1 tank.

Personally, I favor pulling the patrons at once since I think it is easier - in short there is no "what if" problems. You just plan for the worst and then go get it. I like Scir, GW, Mako, BS order since Scir has those nasty AOEs. As long as the tank has the aggro and the group focuses on the called AV, we should be fine.

I'll amend my statement: With sufficient debuffs and buffs, such heroics are possible.

Yes, Penny had it. 3 debuffers, 2 damage, tank and two others along for the ride.

Yup. It took long enough, but I finally learned that balanced teams make things way easier.

Update: we are doing the STF tomorrow night, no, it will not be a MSTF run, we're just going to have fun. Let's try not to have too many deaths though, ok?

thought you were shooting for 9?

Should be there for 930.

Well, let's get people to reply which would be better for them. I don't really care one way or another.

Fine either time. I will be just collecting some merits or XP, depending on the toon. I will watch VF channel for any changes or if you are starting to form up.

I'd prefer 9:30 but I can do either time.

9:30 Eastern should be fine by me, but I'd be fine with 9 PM as well, so it doesn't go as late.

Congrats to Grey for a very good first run! Good job to everyone, it was very smooth!

Wow, that was quite fun. Also kind of funny that fighting three of the Patrons at once was easier than Dr. Aeon (though we aggro'd Aeon before we were ready, I know. Probably would have been okay still if I had used an inspiration or two, so sorry about that). Heh, and finding the Security Chief took longer than Aeon!

Having your defense up to 75% is very much needed against Recluse, you guys weren't kidding. At one point I had lost track of my defense numbers, and didn't fire off a new purple when I should have. He hit me regularly when I was at about 48% defense then, and that hurt. Even at 75%, we had a couple hairy moments with the red tower up, where he somehow got a hit or two in. *shakes head* Thanks for the buffs again, it helped a lot.

Where were all those unique bosses in the Thorn Tree mission? Did we teleport past them? I thought they were in the Tree room itself, but I guess that's wrong?

I thought GW's heal was longer range, so sorry I was running around so much. Anyone know about how long they are? 20 feet? She was fairly close and not using it. Having SB was very nice for going against all 3 AVs... I had to cycle it between Scirocco and GW, or they'd move to the team... Scorpion was happy hitting me from range, for some reason. Focused guy, eh?

Thanks for showing me the ropes, all. It was great fun, and I think I could join an MSTF just fine in the future (or another States run, which I would love- fun stuff!).
