Usually accounts created on the Test Server are playable immediately upon account creation. My understanding is that the Mac Beta is on a different server with a lower refresh rate (currently 24-48 hours). So it's a case of using stock verbiage rather than coding all new auto-messages w/ slightly tweaked info.

If you want a fast maccish way to check the server status, I threw together a COH Server Status Dashboard Widget (that click downloads it, I don't have a pretty page describing it)

The updater is annoyingly slow! I started updating around 7 or 8 PM on Thursday. Now on Friday, I'm still trying to download everything. I'd love to test out the game on a Mac, but will the download every finish??
My first day on CoH for Mac is great. Haven't been playing much, but it runs beautifully!

I had several high level characters and a lot of time invested. Will my characters still be available? Do they auto-delete after a certain amount of time?

Nope, characters are not deleted here. In some circumstances, people can have their characters lose their names, but I think that's only low-level characters.

Hmm, I wonder if it might be possible to get HeroStats working with Mono? Mono is an open-source re-implementation of the .Net runtime for Unix-like platforms (including OS X). The main development is being managed by Novell. I think the .Net API's might be somewhat limited right now for Mono, though, so not reallly sure if you could get HeroStats working, but might be worth a check?

Hey I've been downloading things with the updater all day and I still can play, can anyone tell me why this takes so long. 
Just be patient Monkeycat...took me a little over a day. There are lots of people downloading right now. But things are sliky smooth in-game
On another note...anyone know if I can copy one of my old characters from Infinity over into the Mac Beta training room?

How are the mac graphics vs windows? I haven't read anything about the change to 64 bit... Or even if it is a big one. Any feedback?
So far I've noticed that CoX runs considerably smoother on my Mac than it ever did on my PC....and I'm working with 2 GB less ram on my Mac so I can't really explain it.
I run it at the top setting and rez and it all looks beautiful.
