((You do realize that Horowitz has been playing with the source of that portal, right? It could potentially have some... interesting... effects on those that pass through. I know it's going to on Horowitz, hehehe...))

((okay lets begin.))

Bladewing stared openmouthed as the two men walked through the portal which Horowitz had been tinkering with. Ordinarily such portals were absolutely benign, but this one had been tinkered with by the product of the most deranged science ever known to exist ANYWHERE, and the tinkering had already split said produt into three identical copies.

Sighing to himself, Bladewing enchanted a small crystal and sent it through the portal to see if the boys had been put in some horrible situation at the power station, or wherever the portal went.

If it was a bad situation, Bladewing intended to make it a very bad situation....for Abdul.

"Did you see that?"

She never turned away from the puzzle. Turning the outer ring several revolutions, Ceus began to see the pattern. Quickly, she spun it and and the inner ring.

A deep ka-chunk was heard from deep within the earth.

Trying not to feel to satisfied, Ceus finally turned to Noble.

"No. What's it doing?"

"There are characters being written out... in the sand."
((And, for some reason, I can not find the original post pointing this out.))

Noble watched the pattern for a bit, and then nodded.

"It's the same set of characters, repeated. 'Twould appear they are in the same language as these runes present, though I couldn't say for certain. I can read neither. I see several characters present, as on the rings... ah. This may be the solution."

Masquerade only had the twelve senses mentioned previously, and as he was touching a wall, his sense of duty and law was completely overwhelmed. It was a very solid surface, and a wall, obeying a strict set of laws that most laws obeyed and never deviating from these laws unless forced to.

So the walls were walls. Figured. Masquerade didn't really take note of the vanished Sage, and instead teleported away. He did not appear in any of the other rooms or the previous room he had visited via his last teleport.

Ceus floated over next to Noble and stared at the characters drawn in the sand.

"Moon, winter, darkness." she translated, speaking quietly. A sinking feeling creeping up her limbs to travel into the center of her torso, the proverbial weight almost lowering her to the ground.

"That's not what I just entered..." Ceus slowly spun, turning to look at the now quivering pillars. Their shaking become more and more violent.

Drawing upon the netherworld's chilling embrace, Ceus formed a faint cloud of protective energy around her.

With a push of her hand, Ceus transferred a vast amount of potential energy to Noble, it would speed up his movements and keep him from tiring.

The rings exploded in a cloud of sand as a giant ant pulled itself from the depths of the earth.

"Oops."

On the other side of the portal, at the power station, chaos reigned supreme. Horowitz stepped out of the portal... and then stepped out of the portal again... and again... and again... and again... whatever effect had caused the first three duplicates appeared to be cascading out of control as thousands of unstable Jager-duplicates poured out of the glowing hole in space in an unstoppable tidal wave of green, some randomly vanishing into thin air, others splitting into two or more copies, a handful even spontaneously bursting into flame (although this didn't seem to slow them down any).

With a roar of "VE HUNT!" that rattled windows miles away, the one-Jager show got into motion, leaving a trail of destruction so thorough that there was little left but gravel and the occasional stain.

Jack sighed "Better get going then". He walked towards the portal, then stopped before he went through. He glanced slightly towards the pillar the Jagers had been tampering with, the pillar that controlled said portal he was about to step through. He sighed again, his eyes closed deeper for a moment, then a small sphere of translucent purple-pink swirled around him. "Should keep my matter in check" he mumbled, cursing at the green oaf as he stepped through the portal.
