Glad to see you're still around Gil!

That is way more information than anyone was entitled to but ... I loved seeing the upcoming art

Ok, I know you're upset Sassy and I know Jomaro's not completely thrilled at having to air out this much "dirty laundry". In the interest of keeping things civil here could both parties take this to a more private venue? I'd rather not see the mods step in and get involved.

Gotcha hon .. I'll do the decent thing and delete that ... not that I think it is impolite, nor is it uncivil, but the problem with public conversations is just that.

Honestly I'm not actually upset personally at Jomarro. I think he's a great guy. I don't even think it is necessary to air dirty laundry. Business is simple - you make a mistake, you clean it up and move on. It is hard when that business involves personal talent like writing or illustration .. even body work (and I make money doing body work and writing and I know what it feels like if i get feedback that a client did not like the way it came out). There's no need to get personal or over informative. Keep it clean ... I screwed up, I'm sorry, what can I do to recreate trust or complete the deal?

Sad that it took the public conversation to get resolution. I don't think it sets a good precedent. The private communications should have achieved it for everyone's benefit.

Thanks for the cool objectivity Bayani. 'Preciate it ..

Ahh I see here we have a misunderstanding. I am talking about after the reboot and you are talking about a year ago. I have been available since then and the last time I spoke to TA it was about his canoeing trip and the roughs of IA. If he had any concerns he didn't share them with me then and hasn't since. The refund option became available in July when I reboot the site/service and did not in any way exclude TA and he knows that. If he wanted a refund all he had to do was ask. As I stated in my above post I will contact TA this evening in regard to this matter.

Thanks for chiming in here Gill. It's great to know that you're still around and kickin' (and cranking out the hits).

Your personal life is your own... and you deserve that. I hope my inquiries didn't lead to you divulging that info. My only hope is that ...because of previous history.. you might consider keeping all of your fans in the loop a bit more.

We all love your stuff man... and would just like to hear more from you sometimes.

Hey Juggs thanks man! As I understand it you are cranking out some hits of your own!

I think that I'm going to make MMOart a reality show so it's easy to keep up with whats going on here in the studio. Kind of like Ace of cakes on the food Network. Hey check that out if you get a chance Duff is a really talented artist.

For The_troll here is where I was on your piece before I started on this reply, and now that I’m almost done I’m going to be all over it. The large portrait will be in the back and his tattoos will be added in the coloring phase.

Troll had a real crappy couple of days this week, that made me grin like a doofus.

Thanks Jomaro

Hey Troll, sorry to hear about the crappy days, but I'm glad that brought a smile to your face. I hope the updated version will keep that smile there. Please check it out and let me know what you think. I also sent it to your email address and if you have any updates or changes let me know =D

Yes it is amazing what sending a simple "How's it going" email to him can do.

Wow, you want to continue this I guess. Should I mention the PM's I've sent? Should I talk about the emails?

Or should I just leave it alone?

I'm pretty much willing to do that and welcome Gill back to the boards. Because the truth is, I've ALWAYS been a fan of his - but being a fan, does not mean blind support - forgive me, but I ask questions on occasion.

So, do you really want to continue this with passive/aggressive swipes, or are we done?

Listen guys, basically what Monkey’s saying is that I have been available to my clients, and all lines of communication are open here. She’s a client herself and emails me like everyone else does. I don’t think she was taking a swipe, but rather letting you know that communication is a 2 way street.

Juggs, I don’t know if you are referring to Monkey or me in regard to the PMs and emails, because you and I have only recently been having a really nice convo via PM since I reactivated my account yesterday. And as for emails, I don’t recall receiving any from you at all. Not just recently, but ever lol.

This goes for everyone whether you’re a client, fan, friend, or stranger - If you have an issue or concern or just curious about something you have to contact me and let me know. I used to try and be more accessible to non-clients on various forums, IMs, on MySpace, and DA. However that significantly digs into my time. I’ll post when I have artwork to share, and that is primarily on my website or my mailing list. That’s why I appreciate Alty copying & pasting the updates from my site here on the board, as I haven’t played CoH in a few years and I generally don’t keep this account open. Perhaps when I’m done with this queue and I revamp the site, I’ll include an RSS feed or start using Twitter or something.

I use quick reply often so relax, there is no "this" to continue. Our disucssion was done when I answered your question. As my grandmother used to say "don't start none, won't be none" I'm not starting anything up with you as there isn't anything to start or continue.

My comment means that sending communication via email to Jomaro got a response and that more folks should use that method instead of relying on the forum.

I sent one for sure, and possibly two - but that may have been during part of your transition in the rebot. In fact, I seem to recall sending you one in regards to the last thread 'turning south'... but like I said man, that may have been in or around the time of your transition.

Either way, as I've said many times already - it's great to see you posting on these boards again (even if it is for a limited time). Hopefully we'll get to see you post up some pieces for x-mas

Here's an 'on-topic' question for ya Gill (and hopefully one that's drama free) - how's your 'Studio' section working out?

I loved pieces like 'The sick and the dead' but haven't seen anything similar of late. Are those still being cranked out?

Posted

Thanks, I was very happy with how that piece came out! As for the studio site we have pushed it to the back burner until I can hire some local artist to actually work side by side with me in the studio. It was quite the task trying to do it over the web, and lacked that "artistic grind tank insta-satisfactory art is life draw till your hands cramp up kinda vibe" if you know what I mean. Luckily there is a great deal of artistic talent in the DFW area due to the large number of game design studios here. So hopefully we can bring everything together and take MMOart to the next level.

I get it. ......

Perhaps there is a reason these threads exist and the simple solution has not worked in the past.

Best to put the past behind now, if possible, without any remarks that seem to infer that there has been some sort of bizarre consipracy.

I planned on making a long drawn out point by point post to answer Jomaro's but I think i am going to stop the chain here. These things have a hard time dying because we all have our points of view. Experiences. All of them different, so each person who posts is posting their own idea of what took place. Then someone else posts, and sometimes do it in such as way that another poster feels that they have been misrepresented or misunderstood.

And so they post their perspective, opinion and thoughts.

Then the next person drops something that is perceived as inferring something else and so on ...

As wise ones have been known to say:

"In the world of conflict you can either go for a result, or be right. You cannot have both."
It comes down to the laws of cause and effect.

How many threads about other artists appear like this?

I guess you have to be awesome and totally overbooked to get a thread like this.

... speaking of which, where's Darkjedi gone off to?

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

Lol Soul_Train you're nuts! Oh and very nice headshot avatar.

Here is the ink stage of JOTUNN "The Numbah one troll on Infinity" I recently have not been adding any of the hard shadows and cast shadows during the inking phase, because I find it much easier to change lighting dynamics when I move to the coloring phase.

I know there are a great deal of artists around these parts, so if anyone wants to know anything about my process, please feel free to ask. I know I have a few questions for some of you.

Glad you like it, it's a 'detail' from a John Becaro gift-art that I cannot link here. Come to think of it, there's a lot of art in my collection that I can't link here...
