Sort of, but not exactly. If you link to deviant art, and I log into it, and there are either icons or a featured picture that is NSFW, then I'm going to yank it down. However if I have to go in and look in your gallery to find it, I will probably leave it up. It also depends on the nature of the NSFW. There is NSFW, and then there is N S F W. If you catch the meaning. And I think almost all of you know the difference.

huh? If you have to log into DA then you've already bypassed DA's own adult content check. Shouldn't it be perfectly okay as long as you can't see it while not logged into DA?

I have my login to DA saved, so when i log in, it's already in my face without the chance to work around it.

About that - you are unable to see any pieces listed as mature or adult unless you've registered, listed your age, and consented to the DA rules. I'm not so sure that being able to see stuff there when you're registered and of age is the way to judge that.

The issue is not whether I want to see I choose to see it or not, nor whether it is allowed by DA's policies or not. The issue is if it is visible by clicking from these boards, and that is not permitted. I'm sorry if I am coming off hardcore about this, but that's the way of it.

Actually, I'm constantly reporting underage nudity, underage users, underage everything... and you can only imagine what I find in their favorites, and a lot of them don't have the mature content warning that they should have... Policies and rules really don't mean much on DA.

I don't want to argue about this because I'd obviously lose, but the only reason that it is visible by clicking one link from these boards is because that's how you have set up your own DA account. Are you saying that if you had an add-on to your browser that automatically looked for any link on a page with certain keywords and opened that link and that link contained NSFW material, it would get pulled? Even though that would be a very unique add-on that basically no one else would have. An average user who clicks a link in this forum while at work would most likely not have their log-in saved and would have to do multiple clicks if they really wanted to view NSFW material. And if people are logged in automatically at home and it's an issue of it being too easy for younglings to find inappropriate material, then that's why DA has the consent forms and such. It's really out of your collective hands. If a user chooses to have it take only one click, then that falls on them, not on you to enforce.

example following Kos explanation is simply uploading the pic to your DA page under scraps and linking to your page in general
lets not waste too much time trying to pin down the mods on an imaginary line as as they can move it in either direction in regards to the rules :P
also kos does vanity checks so lets not use his name instead let us refer to him as gimpy squid boy
We should all just totally STOP getting NSFW pics anyway! Then we won't have to worry about this issue at all wold we?

Sooooo gents and ladys use your best judgement when posting direct links and when in doubt either post a link to the artists site with a vauge "hey nifty artist here , there may be a pic of Dragonberry here somewhere <gasp> " or drop our local mod a pm and get their oponion on weather you should post or not post it or how best to post so as not to get a red X branded on your head
The rules are vauge and can shift at a moments notice but for now kidlets its bussiness as usual

First off, these rules haven't really changed that much. A number of them have been clarified and condensed, but at their core, they are still the same rules. Previously the forum rules were a mix of two or three sections, this is just a more clear list of what they are to help not only enforcement, but understanding of these rules.
PWNZ, Forum Games, S&I and 'For Fun' and NSFW content in the Art section. and Server Forums.
What happens in those sections, for the most part, as long as it stays in those sections, we will allow it, to a point.
We have some very basic rules, like those in our Zero Tolerance Policy, as well as a few others that we will enforce even in those sections, but as long as the actions in those places do not bleed out into the rest of the forum sections, it will be permitted.

I would also remind that we allow or remove posts at our discretion. However that does not mean the community does not has a voice. As I have mentioned previously, if you have issue with say an Image, or link. Use the notify moderator button and even PM one of us to look at it. If, within our discretion, we find it in violation of our rules or inappropriate for the forums, we will remove it.
