That works too.
And yeah... a lot of those folks are probably WoW or GW or even AoC players.
....which means THEIR artist communities have to pick up the ball.

I just wanted to chime in my "You gals/guys are awsome" for doing what you do. If I had any artistic talent I wish I could help out too, but in stead I'll just cheer vosotros on from here. =^.^=
If everyone on TA's list will send me links to the work to be done, I'll edit TA's list and put all the links to character images and information for the artists together and post so they can easily access the reference images.
I feel I should pitch in somehow--can't draw a straight line with a t-square and a triangle--but simple code--I can do that. PM me with info and I'll start creating the post--the faster I get them the faster I can put it up--since I lose edit privileges after a short while I can't just build it as I go--unless I put a single link here and update it on my web space--that may be the thing to do.
In any event PM you links, names, etc and I'll build a simple list for the artists to reference your references.
You da man, Gryph.

Wasn't this one of the last pieces done, or did Synchotron have two in the queue?
I actually saved it to my desktop because it was so awesome, but here it is for reference.
Someone send me the proper info so I can contribute. I'll do one peice inked and colored. I'd promise more....but that's all I can promise 100% for now. So....who's it gonna be?

Anyone need proof from me since my characters name isn't on the queue list for MMO Art? If so let me know and I can provide a copy of my PayPal receipt.
No biggie.
Ok, I have two characters I was going to have done eventually by Gil so I'll leave it up to the artists to choose from the screenies below which they would like to do for me.
SlaveDawg I'll leave it to you to choose which you would rather work on;
Zal-El
or
Darque Fyre
Zal-El is my WP/SS Tank (think Superman) and Darque is my Fire/Dark Corruptor.
Feel free to pick the one that inspires you the most to work on and we can iron out the details.
[/ QUOTE ]
I will do Zal-El. If you could send me the information I asked about in the PM then I can get started. Also, if you need to send anything to me, like screen shots or other material, I can PM you my e-mail address (or you can find it on my DA page).
lol, I am looking forward to doing this Should be fun!

Synchrotron was the last one from MMOArt, yes.
Buckeyestar put one up for Invinvibelle from Redlightstudios. One of two that I've seen from that venue (the other was Nadya.)

And speaking of Buck:

I just wanted to take this opportunity to applaud certain members of this community. Over 2 years ago, I first contracted an artist who was well known to the City of Heroes community to do some work for me. I knew his queue was long, but his work was simply stunning so I ponied up for his depsosit. I suppose I should have been more wary of having to pay a deposit on work that would take a couple of months to even begin. I bit the bullet and I wound up paying for 2 full pieces in advance and in full. That was March 2006. The queue just got longer. The artist while promising to clear it, continued to take new customers. I grew weary of waiting and made many changes to the composition due to such long periods of no contact and no results. In January of 2008, he offered to refund anyone who no longer wanted to wait. I took him up on this offer since my enthusiasm had died over such a long wait. By late April, I STILL had not received a refund. I contacted him again and offered to give him a second chance to make good. Over a 2 week period, he whipped out the stunning Black Siren piece that now resides in my gallery. But I was still owed another. My enthusiasm was rekindled with viewing this first piece, but it ended there. Now, all emails sent to him are getting returned or ignored and his home phone (according to people who have the number) has been disconnected. All appearances seem to point to him bailing on dozens of people after taking a minimum 50% deposit just to get on the queue. I know of one person who lost over $1K in paid in full artwork that he never received.
Things were looking pretty gloomy and nerves were quite frayed over on the CoH boards. Then certain artists began to step up. Many of them have accounts here as well, and one by one they began to offer to pick up the slack and finish one of those pieces of art that were lingering in queue limbo. It began with one, then another. Then several more stepped forward. I was touched at the tremendous groundswell of generosity that came forth from what was becoming an ugly situation. I want to publicly applaud these individuals, most of whom are Deviants here. I cannot post on the CoH forums currently, but I know there's a chance they might see this. To all of those generous souls . . . you are true heart and soul of the art community. My hat is off to you all. I would join in if I had a shred of artistic talent (hell, if I could draw then I wouldn't have commissioned work in the first place ;p ). I am so happy that some folks will get some relief from and hopefully will not feel that there good faith money was squandered. Bravo to you all.

Buck's right. You all rock.

This is 9 pages in at this point, and I don't know if anyone from the lists will see it...however.
I am an artist who has been looking to get back into the swing of things, and this seems like a good way to do so. Now, a couple caveats, I work as a bank officer, and my time is limited for at least the next two weeks, but, if someone is willing to wait a bit (on top of the big long wait from the original queue, heh), I will get a piece finished as soon as the craziness dies down.
My DA gallery in my sig has a link to the only CoH art I've done for Thor's Assassin, but the scraps are filled with quick doodles, pose studies, etc. If anyone from the list reads this and likes my style, let me know.
I'm going to take this one at a time, so first come first serve, as it were.
I gotta say, too, this right here is the reason that this is the only board I watch any more. A bunch of people doing what they love and a bunch of people loving each other's work. That's actually a sort of rare community in the interwebs.

Oh, and it's come to my attention that the very cool Brandon McKinney is wanting to lend a hand here as well. If you're on DA, and you've had recent trobles with a commish *cough - he's looking to do up a piece.
So again, anyone who's still waiting on "that list", post up your screenies here and let some other artist have a crack at 'cha.
No artistic talent here (though if someone wants some stick figures...) and I'm certainly not on the queue, but this is great to see.
Yes, Synch may have been the last one out the door, which makes me both happy, and a little guilty that I got mine at long last when others didn't. I only had the one in the queue. Kudos to the artists trying to make things better for the people who got disappointed - it's a really grand gesture.
I did finally get the print today (7/10), so perhaps there's hope for some of the remaining artwork.

The English language does not contain words that can adequately describe how awesome this entire thread is. I can't draw. Like, at all. Nevertheless, I am prouder now to be a member of this community than I ever have before.
your = Belonging to you.
you're = Contraction meaning "You are."
Ur = The name of an ancient Mesopotamian city.
ur = This is not a word.

If anyone in the queue have commissioned a pencil drawing, and don't mind my messy style, feel free to send me a PM.
Cheers

Cool looking toon. If none on the 2D guys can pick him up and finish the piece, I can take a crack at him in 3D if you like. I do need more practice with male characters. Their lack of boobage really handicaps them when I prioritize....
I hate this community. Buncha friggin' carebears.
Do we have a running tally of who is done and spoken for?
This is really frigging awesome. I can't draw that well, so I can't help clear the queue, but I can help kick something back to the great people donating their time they could be getting paid for. If you trust me, and want to help out too, here:
http://kai.blackboxchaos.com/artkickback.html
I'll cover the fees so 100% of what you want to pitch in goes back to the artists. If you do a piece, PM me your Paypal info, or physical address if you need a check, for now I'll say I'll split whatever money comes in on August 9 and send it back out, and we'll go from there. I'll update you guys with totals weekly.
Soul, here's the thing - I don't know if we'll ever actually clear the lists. I think it'd be great if we could, but not all of them are going to be coming by these forums.
Instead, I'm more focused on taking one at a time (yours being done in the next day or so).
