Yes, as of i12 /ignore and /gignore do the same thing. Used to they would do different things. The default one where you right clicked somebody and picked ignore did /ignore which only ignored that one character. You could also type /gignore to ignore a global.
/gignore also had the interesting feature that when used on a local player name without an @, it would ignore the global associated with that player. In the process it also told you what the global name was. So a quick /gignore, /gunignore was a way to get someone's global name.
Now both of them globally ignore the player, *i think*. I'm not sure if the non-global ignore list still exists in some form and is just hidden or if it's gone completely. Haven't played with it in depth yet but I'm sure some of the people around here have

I never have understood the whole freespec/respec thing. Can someone explain to me (like i'm a noob) exactly what happens if I have, let's say, made a respec recipe but haven't used it; what happens to that? Do I lose it or do I have 2 respec's available. Also, same question for respec trials if I claimed the respec.

OK...here goes...there are 2 types of respecs in the game, earned and free. Earned respecs stack, you get them from the respec trials, vet rewards, respec recipes and from the 1st Patron arc for villains. They are all redeemed the same way, by visiting a contact in Galaxy (heroes) or Nerva (villains).
Free respecs are granted by the devs for various reasons: major power changes or anniversary celebrations are the most common. They do NOT stack, think of the free respec as a toggle on your character...it's either on or off. The grant sets everyone's toggle to on...if yours was on already, then nothing happens. You claim this respec by either typing /respec or visiting the above contacts.

As a note, never try to claim a freespec via the contact IF you have a earned respec and only want to use the freespec. Use /respec, as the earned ones tend to be used first (or maybe it's order of earning, not sure) instead of the freespec at the NPCS.

They also have the rename because of how the names are assigned, and were initially assigned.
Also, they recognized the fact that people /change/. Which is probably why they are resetting the toggle.

Okay here is a question I have been meaning to ask since I have several respecs saved up from veteran badges. I have done a few respecs before but it always just takes me back to the lowest power set. are their any respecs that allow you to change your primary and secondary power set?
I ask because I have a mastermind and I would like to try the new power proliferation without having to create a new alt to go with my many others rofl.
It has been a while since I claimed a respec so maybe I'm not remembering it correctly. Can any one enlighten a poor lost noob?

As far as cosmetic stuff goes, all the VEAT widows want butt-capes, and I agree. Also, a crab backpack that doesn't hang off so precariously would be nice, as well as trenchcoats that work with it... should crab packs work with a cape, anyways?
Hmm logged in both my accounts (the second I want to change to mirror my first) and I'm not seeing any option to rename. What am I missing?

I have a question. I am not a fellow who runs on the forums enough - I actually can't stop playing long enough...
Luckily, there is a long update running atm and I've decided to finally ask this:
Why can we not have indication of when the last time our Global friends have actually logged in - some counter in the same mold as the SG counter maybe? I have multiple accounts and a few 50's, I'm an altaholic who likes to global fun team mates; therefore, I load up my globals and two of my accounts have been full at most times.
Please let me know why you can't do this.

Global Handle changes pwn, if I can just think of a good name I can shake off my currently [censored] one as well as the ###### reputation it implies, isn't that hawt.
Is there any way to know if the respecs I have are the ones given out because on all my toons when I log on it will either say I have 1 or 2 respecs available as well as the veteran ones that I am sure I need to activate before using?
Also if I never used my original chat handle change option, will I have 2?

My global is mad hatter man, because of copy write laws my toon named the same thing was changed to Generic hero blah blah blah, he had a name in latin that meant peak of hate for a while till name character name changes came out then was named Hatter, when they nerfed his name i renamed it to Hatter Zero for a while then they had the last global name reset so i changed it back to Mad Hatter Man, but now that his name is just Hatter, i plan on changing it to that if its not taken

OK, two things.
One: This is a Global Name rename, not a Character Rename. you'll have to buy a Character Rename Token to change that.
Two: Before you go spend the ten bucks to rename your character, keep in mind that if you had the name changed to GenericWhatever-00000000 due to a copyright/trademark infringement, it's VERY unlikely that 'name' will be freed up now. It was probably locked when yours was changed, and will stay that way to prevent you (or anyone else) from using it again.

As someone who managed to mangle his toon w/ I12 respec, I am curious exactly what prompted the additional free respec. I'm not ungrateful, I am simply curious.

Is there any reason to limit the Global Name renames? My kids play on the account as well, and the one figured out how to rename it. I certainly would not want to known forever by what he changed it to. I appreciate the second chance rename, but why not allow a periodic name change?

During peak hours, you may experience problems. If the transaction doesn't go through, I would recommend that you try again or make an attempt during non-peak (i.e. morning) hours.
I was just able to complete a transaction at 9:37PM PST (after about 5-6 tries). And I'm not using any special privileged connection to make that transaction.
We're monitoring it, and working to resolve it. I don't have an ETA for a long-term fix, but we've been nudging a couple of cogs in the background. The good news is that other players have been able to complete transactions as well.

I did just that! I waited until the end of my play session which was about 1am PST and then made the purchase. It went through just fine, no hiccups.
