Exactly my thoughts. We know that we can have defensive powers with no power fx since Tough and Weave both have zero power fx. So devs., time to step up and either deliver on the no fx powerset we want or give us an option in the costume creator to turn power auras on/off. No excuses.

Why would anyone want a powerset with no F/X. I'm not being sarcastic, I really don't understand.

Cool F/X to me are one of the most important parts of me wanting to try out new powersets.

some of the defensive effects, such as Dark Armor, tend to obscure the characters. I spend lots of time working on how my characters look and I don't like the idea of all the hard work being hidden by power's visuals.

Kinda like how my Dark/regen scrapper's healthy green glow really doesn't fit with its black and red color scheme.

However, Dual Blades is friggin sexay and I think all my other characters are going to end up forsaken while I level my newest scrapper.

Whenever they showed shots of the powerset it seemed like they were activating it or it was pulsing. I want to see what the long term look of it is. Not very dramatic I'll admit, but it would be more informative to me.

Willpower is still work in progress in the closed beta, as they are adjusting the graphics still to dial them in to "looks good, not too omg turn it off! or otherwise annoying"

I think it's coming along great and I'm really enjoying playing my Dual Blade / Willpower character in Beta. We're really looking forward to opening up the beta to everyone soon, and then taking Issue 11 live not long after that!

BaB just confirmed in the Test Center forum that there will be talsorian options for katanas, BS, and Dual Blades as well

so you get your tech weapons =)

Is it just me or do the finishers look to have kinda longish animation times? Like how claws Swipe used to be.

O.o - yeaaahh.. DoD systems tend to be a tad strict (On the carrier when we were at sea they would limit us to certain websites and only in one part of the ship during a couple of hour period. During Enduring Freedom even that was stopped cold).

What ya need to do is get some fresh baked stuff and bribe a system admin - that usually works well

Why is it that whenever I click the link to "download" the video I get a "Cannot Connect to Server" screen? I've tried several browsers -Firefox, IE, Opera, Avant- but none can display the video?

Am I the only one having this problem?

Should work on various file sizes and compression. I live on DSL, and a lot of people have DSL that is nowhere near as fast as cable. I'm not even attempting to download the smallest file size you have up there.

^^Now see... That's why I slap my head whenever I don't just read through the whole thread

Vids look nice. IMO, Willpower doesn't need *that much* visual tweaking, from what I've seen in the vid. Does seem a tad bit overpowering, but I'm sure the nerf patrol will make swift work of that

Dual Blades seem way cooler than I thought they'd look. The animations look kind of silly with the insanely tall female character slicing those children-sized bad guys. Other than that, looks good.

The big disappointment (for me) out of I11 is that the Claws powerset for the scrappers doesn't get actual CLAWS!!! I'd really like for my wolf character to *Not* have <insert famous Marvel hero that has similar claws name here>'s claws and just use his bare hands.

That, and I am getting tired of having a Cat's tail on a wolf's body, but I digress.

A very nice presentation overall. Great visuals on the Blades, a pretty good idea (and verbal backup) of how Willpower won't be as flashy as some Defensive sets and a VERY clear and useful description of how Combo attacks works.

So looking forward to this I can taste it...
