awesome, ty

not sure why I couldn't figure out how to move it before, ah well

Attache, your comic is really good. I'll spend some time looking at the others. Might even make my own at some point, just for kicks.

@Wavicle, mostly on the Justice server.

Just adding my name to those who would like to see a runner's up list or honorable mention lists at the end. Hoping enough requests like this will get REDNAMES to run the suggestion up the chain of command.

honorable mention lists at the end

An honorable mentions list sounds like a great idea.

Wonder how many submissions there would have been had Hypercomics worked for everyone...

Yes, I'm still bitter.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wonder how many they would of gotten if the comp was open to everyone and not just USA residents.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I may do an extended and corrected version on mine at some point. I just don't want to noodle with it now and end up disqualified.

Thre-three hundred?! wow. suddenly I'm not confident at all. Well, I did one and i'd love some feedback, but that max page limit was a real bummer. I had to cut about four pages so the flow got a little rough.

so anyone has a free moment a look at my first attempt would be so appreciated.

Good job Catapult. A few clipping problems but not much. I didn't notice a drop in the flow. Remember most the time the flaws seem bigger to you then the audience
All in all it was good, just not very exciting. Like it was just kinda open/close.
I did enjoy your creative use of emotes. like /cheer next to a fence to look like you're tired, very good .
Also your cliffhanger at the end worked out very well. gratz yo

Sorry about that ! http://www.hypercomics.com/comicbook...ay_heroes_4475

I read it, all decent. The hat bit was good (where Santa got upset he failed the mish) and the pumpkin was boss at the end. Nothing was bad, but I would have liked to have seen a much bigger shot of the pic when the pumpkin changed into the Jack guy.

So is the notification Wednesday or Friday? Because if it's Wednesday, I haven't gotten my winning notification email.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

I thought the contest winners were to be announced on the 25th according to the old rules. you have a little less than 24 hours wait yet.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm feeling pretty anxious here in the final moments. Can't wait to see how it all turns out. No matter what happens at the end of the day, I wanted to drop a link to my comic for you guys to check out:

www.theneighborhoodwatch.net

Just updated it with my COH submission and a new website. I've posted a few things on hypercomics, but I don't really care for their viewer. Anyway, have a look and let me know what you think!

So... instead of mourning the death of the Top Cow comics (which does really suck), how about an update on the contest? Pretty please?

Posted

Indeed. I'm pretty sure I didn't win, but I'd like to know at least what I lost to.

Ahhh....I thought the rules said the results would be posted no later than May 25th 2007...

The suspense is killing me... I'm just praying that my submission got through ok... I know it's up on hypercomics.com it's been getting a few hits on there, and I got the (automated) confermation email saying that my submission was recieved...

*bites fingernails* Who won already?! the suspense is killing us!!

It's probably taking them a lot longer than expected to read all of the submissions. Especially if they have to read them all on hypercomics. We just need to be patient (we are all soooo good at that).

Posted

I don't think a call for patience is in order. If the company self imposed a deadline of may 25th then they should have met it or sent out an update.
Based on the number of folks who are wondering if their submission even made it through I think that the whole process should have been handled better. How difficult would it have been to send out an email confirmation "yes we got your submission".

Lighthouse posted an update that the new date is June 15th (under announcements).

I think his/her complaint is that it was kind of late notice to extend the judging date on the supposed last day of the contest. While I'm not exactly in a froth about it, I do think it was a tad shoddy. If you're overwhelmed by entries, you likely know that with 2, 5, or even 10 days to go. Waiting until the day of the winner announcements to announce an extension strikes me as mildly incompetent...but I might be the only one who feels that way.

It's no great shakes but I'm not even putting this on Lighthouse's shoulders...I suspect the ball was dropped at a higher level and he's merely the messenger in this instance.

You are definitely not the the only one who feels this way!
If you look at how many people don't even know if their entry went through and the total lack of respect extended to the people who worked hard on their entries then 'shoddy' doesn't even come close to describing the way this event was run (although it does kind of rhyme with a word that does).
I also agree that if they now need an additional 3 weeks to review all the entries it's not like they discovered this at 8:00 PM on the day that they were supposed to be done. It feels like the last guy out of the shop was shutting off the lights and suddenly remembered that there was some small detail that was overlooked - hmmmmm.....

Many people put a lot of effort into this contest - it's a shame that it feels like that is not recognized.
