PeterPeter: Your link doesn't match up with your comic. You might want to edit/repost.

Wow! Thank you so much for catching that! The link was working fine last night. Then I changed the title of the comic from "mycomicbook_4183" to "City of Statues". I didn't realize that changing the title on Hypercomics would change the link. Since I already sent the link to NCSoft, I just changed the title back to "mycomicbook_4183" so it will match. Boy, I'm really glad you told me.

I just read Not A Hero. Nice work. It reminded me of something Edgar Allan Poe once said about writing. I don't have the exact quote, but something like, "In a short story, every sentence, every word, every letter, every piece of punctuation must contribute to the emotion of the story, or it should be cut."

Updated mine by publishing from the CBC, so the pages are now higher resolution.

And if you want "moar comix", just refresh the gallery page every so often and check out the new ones. That's how I've been filling in the dull spots at work.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

W00t! Thanks Nuclear... I dug it!

I even gave it a comment, although the rating system isn't letting me do anything =/.

And yeah, I've been doing the F5 shuffle on the gallery board, but it seems like I time out more often than not. Perhaps HyperComix can't handle the strain of all us heroes and villains spamming the gallery page with refreshes?

Greetings. Here is my submission. Rainy Fridays are good for something, eh?

A lot of great stuff up there. Kinda scary.

Here's my entry, it actually covers the backstory on one of my heroes and one of my villains all at the same time.

Here's mine:

My Comic

I worked on it like a fiend for the first couple days but then lost interest. However a friend wanted me to push it through so I did. I doubt I'll be winning...the stupid Comic Book creator messed up a couple of the text boxes and the stupid me procrastinated so long I didn't really have time to fix it. Oh well...I don't think it's the most horrible thing in the word and the only audience it will likely get is the few people in this thread who want to read it. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Good work, everyone. I have liked at least one or two things about every one of the entries I've seen. There's a lot of style and, just as importantly, a lot of variety out there.

Here is my entry, "Spectral Evidence," a Thrilling Graphical Novelette in the spirit of the detective pulp magazines of the 1930's and '40's. Due to both dedication to the letter of the rules and incredible laziness, I decided to use only unmodified screenshots and the tools in the most basic version of the comic book creator. Like many others, I had trouble with the fonts once I uploaded the comic; the Comic Book Creator people should probably look into this before their next marketing push.

There's no possible way my entry can win with the competition I've already seen, but I enjoyed making it, and it gave me warm feelings about CoH and the Comic Book Creator software, so I suppose the contest served its purpose well.

Good luck to all!

Heh... I seem to like many of the ones posted here where people are like "ugh, this sucks but I made it anyway". Guess we're all our own harshest critics?

Great job everyone!

I had to run out at intermission of a play I'm in to get internet access just long enough to submit my comic. It took a lot of hard work and some long hours to capture the best shots, but I finished it. Wonderful/Knuckle, Issue #1: With Friends Like These. It tells a very abridged version of the origins of both heroes and sets up the exposition for the With Friends Like These storyline.

I've noticed a lot of people have posted their comics, and I'm sure that some might see this as a bit trite, but I'm proud of the work I did and wanted to give people a chance to see it.

So, without any further ado, enjoy Wonderful/Knuckle, Issue #1: With Friends Like These.

Comments are much appreciated

Just wanted to make a quick plug for my friend's comic, The Adventures of Johnny Rapid! It's freaking hilarious.

I'm trying to think of a way to describe the character of Johnny Rapid, but I can't do him justice. I'll just let him speak for himself:

"Ah, Paragon City! The once-chaste jewel of the Rhode Island shoreline has succumbed to the skanky vices of crime and lawlessness! Luckily, there is still one protector who remains astride her great bosom, determined to restore her virtue to innocent days of ... Hmmm...perhaps I have over-extended the metaphor a bit ..."

I tried to make a submission myself for the contest but couldn't quite get my act together. Any comments are welcome, I'll be sure to pass them along!

The Johnny Rapid comic is my favourite submission so far. (Yes, including my own!)

It's hilarious, and extremely well put together. There IS a typo on the first page, though - it's 'swarthy', not 'sworthy'.

Johnny Rapid is *quite* funny. I digs it!

Your friend has quite the gift for over-the-top dialogue. Reminds me of The Tick .

Hate to say it, though, but didn't he miss the submission deadline by four hours?
