The Squirrel Tree - My new home!
I like the latest update, and really liked this one from your photobucket.
YAY!
*huggles squirrel*
Very nice.
Alas, regardless of their doom, the little victims play! - Thomas Gray
Thanks hehe <^-^> appreciate the compliments, both of you! <^o^>m Hopefully I can keep getting better! >_< (I was afraid for awhile I was starting to stagnate <x.x>
Decided to post something I'm working on... not sure if I'll finish it or not but; its a coloration of a pic I did (I think the second?) When I first came to the Screenshots and Fan Art section.
Yumii - Grrrr (Unfinished)
Its not that great - I'm having a seriously weird problem with photoshop in that - I can't seem to 'let up'; if I stop holding the paintbrush down for one second; when I come back over that area, it'll overlap the previous colors and make it darker, which would be fine when I go to add shading - but its terrible when I'm trying to put in the flat color. Its weird. Trying to figure it out though.
Anyways; I know its not that great but, if anyone's got an opinion, especially constructive criticism, I'm happy to hear it. The lineart isn't the greatest either (the original lineart is in my photobucket if anyone's interested); that's why the sword is so 'off'; but I just wanted to get some coloring practice in.
Anyways, yeah hehe, that's it.
Your colors flow and blend very well. Keep it up.

Check your tool settings... where those are would depend on what version of photoshop you're using. If the brush isn't set to 100% opacity or if the airbrush option is turned on, it'll do that.
<;.;> odd, my opacity is at 100%... and I'm just using the normal paintbrush for most of it (the vest was airbrushed though).
<~.~> I'm prolly missing something simple aren't I?
(Using 6.0 <~.~>
Thanks for the feedback!

Make sure your paintbrush settings have Opacity at 100% when you're doing flat colors. (It's up top)

The layer opacity needs to be set for 100% also. And you should have the airbrush button checked off. (Photoshop SIX? Im not sure I even remember that one.)
Layer opacity... didn't see that >.> I shall give it a shot; airbrush is a tool for me; seperate from paintbrush; am I missing something there? <~.~> (Thanks for the help >.<; this is slightly frustrating hehe <;.;>
Layer opacity's great for fooling around with effects and shading.
Well... I've been messing with Layer Opacity all afternoon... and... nadda... its still doing it <_ _>; gah
He was actually meaning brush opacity. If you are using airbrush, you can chage it's opacity and you won't have to worry that much about heavy overlap.
BTW, you using a mouse or pen?
Mouse... and thats odd <;.;> my brush opacity is also 100% I definitely must have something set funny... I tried setting layer opacity, brush opacity, turning on and off "wet edges"; every different type of brush mode and shape <~.~> both paintbrush and airbrush
**Edit** Thanks a ton everyone; for trying to help me with this; I really appreciate it <_ _> It sucks not knowing what I'm doing wrong; cause I'm enjoying coloring stuff for a change and I know I could do better if I could figure this out.

I was meaning both, actually. Brush Opacity first, when that wasn't the problem, layer opacity.
An UPDATE?! HERE!? ZOMG!
The world has ended.
Ok not quite >.>
I've been putting my bits of spare time together and working on this for a couple weeks; just a little at a time. Its not as good as I'd hoped (for one I can't find a way to make the shadows "blend" together; so they're a tad flat /sigh) - still; its only my third color piece and imho the best of the three (Also the only one remotely finished).
I'd planned to add a background (hell, maybe I will yet); but for now I just left it. Spent too much time with the piece atm <X_X>;;; Anyway, this is the moment nobody's been waiting for! I give you - Ayanei
Who, for the sake of lawsuit avoidance, is not a CoH character really >.> I made her once in CoX with a much different look; but this is the 'real' version; from a manga script I wrote a couple years back (and am probably going to do some heavy editting on).
/sigh I should probably do some 'real' CoX artwork or move to a different site... but this place is too comfy <~.~>; Likely do my kheldian soon though; so I guess that'll make up for things >.>
Sorry for rambling uhh... squirrel hasn't slept in 2 and a half days <X-x> (and only part of that's because of the double xp weekend <,<
Anyways, as usual; lemee know what you think - likes? Dislikes? Monkies? We don't do monkies around here really... but...
Err... <passes out> <X_X>b
I can't help you in the coloring regard (I've only colored one piece back in high school, so at least 5-6 years ago), but I do have one critique on the line-art for ya. I think that she should have an ear visible somewhere around her hair line.
Keep at it! Practice makes perfect. Though I'm one to talk, you can see how much I've been practicing since my last post. D'oh.
Hehe >.< I'd thought about adding an ear... I forgot though; since I usually do catgirls <x-x> /sigh
Thanks Sarrate hehe >.<
An unfinished piece - Working on it as we speak: (Gasp - actually based on CoX too! <,<
I give you my first ever 'landscape' albiet... its not a painting, nor a real landscape of any variety but...
Nemesis Mountains - WIP
The idea for this came from a thread a month or so ago where someone wanted a pic of "Nemesis' Flying Steam City"
Well... Aaron 123 beat me to that goal <^,~>m (I was far too busy at the time to have even tried it - and I rather liked what he came up with too!); So I decided "Well... what would a mountain range under Nemesis' direct control look like?"
And that's where I got the idea <@_@>
I may add more detail... not sure... the idea is that Nemesis has turned these mountains into a base/factory complex, you can't see it, but its a ravine with a river cutting through the bottom of it - thus all the Nemesis stuff is on the hills.
I intend to color and shade it >.> so this is just the pencils. I may ink it by hand like I did my last pic too... I rather enjoyed how that one came out.
Just a quick sketch me did tonight >.> I'm not sure if I want to finish it in pencils, or go to inks and colors...
What do you all think of this? <~_~> I'm proud of it since it was only 30 minutes of drawing fury (sorry its so light >.> its done in 2h pencil)
Yumii - Possible Avatar?
This version is one that the CoX community has only seen from the back - ie: its based on the novel version of the character; rather than the CoX version >.> (Hence the scar on her face and the old clothes)
Anyways <@.@> lemee know whatcha thinkies!
Awww. Sad kitty.
It looks good, though!
does this mean I can post in here too?

Hehe <,< I didn't expect to find another squirrel about
RAWR! <^_^> Ink version of my latest pencils! I'm pretty proud of it; though I'm a little annoyed at the eyes <;.;> They're drawn 'ok'; but they're too low and too small... not totally happy with their shape either.
But I'll let everyone else tell me what they think <,< When I finish; the color version will get its own thread.
Yumii - Inked!
<sigh> more I look at those eyes the more I wish I'd noticed the trouble before I inked <~.~> too late now I guess. I don't have any idea how I'd modify em enough in Photoshop; and barring using Whiteout (which I don't know how well that'd work) >.< blagh
On the advice of Katfood >.> I am creating this as a sketchdump for myself <,< so any squirrely pictures may be found here from now on <@o@> The exception is for people who are listed in my "Practice Time" thread, I'll still post their pictures in that thread when I get back to them.
I shall be including a link to my Photobucket, just for kicks... *warning* Its kinda messy (don't mind the dust!) <,< And some of the pics there need re-sized <'x'> The main focus is newer work, but feel free to comment on anything at all <@,@>
Anyways - to innaugurate this tree <. .>
Scars (Updated!)
Its not "done" yet >< but I'm struggling with the background at present; and I wanted opinions on what I've done so-far >,< (Thanks a *TON* to The_PMD for explaining photoshop to me >_< helped alot!)
My Photobucket - This is mostly older work, but its an archive of some of my stuff; I may upload some of my much older work at some point just so people can see my full progression (because I'm an attention [censored] like that <,< but for now, its just a couple pages mostly of B&W Sketches.
Well <. .> Thanks for looking all! <^o^> <finishes unpacking>
