    Not to offend.

I'd never heard of the monk nor seen the picture before; I'm not sure I like the idea of someone making a char named after the monk. I mean, this is a game, supposed to be fun ... I don't know, seems like that kind of stuff needs saved for someplace else. I wouldn't report the person; but I don't get the point of making a character in game named that. I'd think there's better ways to honor the memory if that's the point.

Plus, there's a certain amount of prestige to having your own site. Wjen I send art directors to my online art, it's just better to send them to a place where that's all they see.

Plus, for some of us DA craps out A LOT. I don't know how many times I just don't get to view some of the artwork posted here simply because DA is having one of it's crappy moments. As some one who just likes to view your guys' art, I really dislike DA.

    A New Comic

Hehe, he is REALLY swamped right now, so said he'd maybe do commissions come this spring. I've been hounding him for a while to do commissions.

    A New Comic

    <QR>

He's working on chapter 2 already and will post when it's done. He doesn't have access to this board, so will relay to him comments from here in hopes it'll spur him to want to do commissions.

Here's another of his that is a favorite of mine that I don't think is linked in his gallary http://www.skylord.com/nocturne/forest.htm .

Anyway, I'm sure he'd thank you for your kind comments.

    A New Comic

An alliance mate from games gone by has started doing a web comic of sorts. It's not really CoH related but is some great art none the less and falls into the comic book genre.

Here's Tales of the Paladin - Chapter 1

Here's a link to his gallary. I love the detail he does on his single pieces. I keep telling him he needs to offer commission pieces for mmorpgs; but he's really into doing his web comic right now and dedicating much of his time to it.

Anyway, just wanted to share his work.
  6. HA HA HA HA!!! That's great.
  7. Akimbo Pistols, is that like "Equilibrium" style of pistols?

I'm really starting to hate deviant art more and more. SO many errors when loading pages and slow.
  11. Screenshot or it didn't happen!

Kidding ofcourse, congratulations (early)! Hope all goes well!
  12. Oh no! Didn't realize he didn't have it yet. Oh well, he'll get it soon enough.

    New Costume

Very neat! I like them both.
  14. I think you are quickly becoming one of my favorite artists on this board. Very cute, love the concept of them chasing the artist. Looks like loads of work going into that, well done.
  15. Very interesting. It'd be neat to see some of our local artists do that type of thing with one of their pieces, like Graver for example.

I have worked out a response to the several posts which object to discussing trivial issues (like these boards) in conjunction with more powerful societal issues such as slavery or the civil rights struggle.

    Too.
    Bad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well then I guess that's my reply to whatever your problem is with the modding of these boards or people's willingness to accept that modding. Too. Bad. Seems to work nicely both ways. Glad we could come to this understanding.

Personally, I think comparing a posters right on this board to slavery is a HUGE insult to anyone who honestly suffered under such oppression. The comparison isn't only silly; it's disrespectful.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I agree that the scale is completely different here. But are you saying that people shouldn't be responsibly disobedient in the case of a small-scale injustice?

We could probably come up with smaller-scale and much less resonant examples of injustice if you really want. I think BBhumeBB made his point very well. Maybe his examples were in bad taste, but arguing about that will get us nowhere. Agreed? If so, let's talk about the substance of his argument.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've not seen any injustice in regards to this thread which is Lighthouse (modding in general) and rants. I have to see proof of this injustice before any kind of supposed discussion can take place.

Someone needs to point out to me the rule that is just SO oppressive; because honestly, I just don't see it.

Uh, I don't think it is fair to draw a connection between the Civil Rights movement, Slavery, and the Underground Railroad with anything on the forums. For one thing the is the matter of scale, and another the gross injustices that those laws created or movements sought to undue. I don't think any but the longest and most strained corrallation can be drawn between Forum Moderation and any of the three examples above.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So if a law is just a little unjust, it should be followed blindly under all circumstances?

BBhumeBB's examples are extreme, but why should his logic only apply to really really super bad laws? 200 years ago, those laws were not viewed as really really super bad.

Ever heard the phrase, "give an inch and they take a mile"? Just because a particular injustice is "small stuff" doesn't mean it isn't worth opposing.

  19. It's a board about a game! There's rules in place because people don't know how to behave.

I for one, am glad that things are getting locked and/or deleted. Why? Because I, as a customer, don't come here to read self proclaimed 'lords of the boards' belittle anyone and everyone who has a differing opinion. I also don't care to read everyone's little sexual innuendo. I also find childish name calling extremely boring. I consider ALL of these things to be a complete waste of my time when I am looking for specific information and have to wade through pages of crap to get to it.

I say delete it and get it out of this customers way. So, yeah, follow the rules or get deleted or locked. Seems simple to me; the only opposing view is "I want to be complete jerk and you're oppressing me if you don't let me!". That's what it sounds like to me anyway. There's no rules here to be upset about.

I think Lighthouse is doing a great job
  21. Wow, I'm sorry you're going through all this, especially at this time of year. Here's sending positive thoughts and energies your way in hopes that 2007 will begin far better than 2006 is ending.
  22. Very nice!

I had to click the 'full view" link on the left to get it to display. It just keeps getting hung up on the page load and never loads completely; but full view got it to display.

    Well done!

    A cool technique

That's really neat. He's like the Bob Ross of spray paint.
