A cool technique

I stumbled across this and thought it might be worth sharing. More videos of him are on the 'related' side. An interesting medium, and very interesting technique that had some pretty nice results, IMOHO.

I don't even know how that works! But it's still amazing.

Yea, it looks amazing but im confused as far as how he does it. I dont get how he rubs the magazin and the wateva happens. Looks cool though.

It's all based on the paints and paper that is used. The paint isn't fast-drying and the paper is glossy, kinda like photo paper. So when the magazine is pressed against it, it smudges all the layers of paint together to make it appear as it does.

We have a million and one of these artists in our city during the summer. The paintings are amazing and cost $5 to $25 Canadian depending on the size. I have a couple of them kicking around the house. I got a couple when I was in Mexico as well. There were quite a few of these artists there too.

Amazing stuff. I love watching them create them.

Really cool stuff. Amazing what you can get with some spray paint.

Ya we have a guy or two that comes down in the summer at our boardwalk... he does these and a crowd of at least 40-50 people are always there watching him. It's really amazing.

And ya as antihiro said, the paper is super glossy. It doesn't absorb paint or ink like other paper, also the paint is prolly special as well.

Gill and I bought a "space painting" from an artist who was doing a live presentation last year downtown in Dallas. Not sure if this is the same artist, but it's definitely a similar style and method. Very cool. I may have to scan and post the piece we bought later.

That's really neat. He's like the Bob Ross of spray paint.

Creativity of artists never ceases to amaze me.

Good stuff.
