I just don't see why they can't make it a Level one enemy, give it hundreds of thousands for health, 10,000% regeneration and no knockback resistance. Any character with Knockback in their powers would knock it pretty far--even a level one Blaster with Power Thrust. Some characters wouldn't have any knockback powers? Make a temp power that does little or no damage but causes only knockback and only to "Objects".
I might not be seeing the whole situation since I haven't gotten much sleep but I think that would work. It wouldn't have to consider particles, maybe just ragdoll physics. It might not roll perfectly, but I think it would be good enough.

In one zone in CoH (Talos) and one zone in CoV (Nerva) there should be a single big red ball that does absoutly nothing except when you attack it, it gets knocked back a bit. By every attack not just knockback attacks. It cant be destoryed or anything, just a Big Red Ball to hit around, thats it.
How big is big?
Well not huge. Just like 1 meter in diameter. Thats Big for a Red Ball!
The reason for just one and being in just one zone is so you dont run into it every time you log on. Maby you'll only run into it once a month or something, then youll be like "WOW! a Big Red Ball!" then you will knock it around for a few minuties laughing very hard then you will leave saying "What a cool Big Red Ball"
Whats the point?
A little extra thing like this would add tons of fun!

I think the BRB should have statesman's or lord recluses face on it depnding on wether it is the nerva ball or the talos ball
I want a big red ball in every zone of the game. No explanation. No plot arc that explains where it came from. Perhaps several plot arcs of different levels, each based on where it might have come from but there's never an actual explanation. Just conjecture. Maybe one of the BRB's might have been invented by Crey, but they're denying it, and even if they did, they didn't invent all of them. Just one of them. Maybe.
It's indestructible. It causes no destruction. Maybe it's Rikti technology. Maybe it's Kheldian. Maybe it's something else. It seems to not allow anyone to actually pick it up, but it does respond to powers. It can be targetted, and anything from a simple punch to a nova attack causes it to move, and the momentum and direction depends on how it's hit and with what.
If you manage to hit it one thousand times, you get a badge. If you manage to hit all the BRBs in the game at least once, you get a badge. Each zone has a 'goal' for the ball. If you can get the ball into that area, everybody in that zone in that instant gets a small but notable amount of influence, whether you were playing with the ball or not. That can only happen once a day, and the 'goal' spot changes from day to day and from zone to zone.
I want a big red ball. yeah.
I'd love to see this as a zone event and an arena event.
A good game of dodgeball or soccer could finally convince people to go to the arena, and one arena based mini-game could eventally lead to more...

I like to work off a little stress by making the sign over the fisherman-contact (the salty flagon or something?) in sharkhead spin around and around. A ball I could kick, punch or just bump around would be AMAZING.

I can think of several hundred other things I would like to see in this game. Brute fury fix PvP, Server Transfers for Characters, code improvements so my FPS dont vary from 40 to 10, New story arcs, new zones, new power sets, Improvements to Battle Axe damage for tankers just off the top of my head.
Fortunately the developers agree, and iirc have already said this wont happen.
