i agree, before the well neither states nor rec was a hero in any sorts. they were gang members if i remember right. states learned the error of his ways and rec became more embittered.
i want coralax for villains and BotBS for heroes now.
From everything that has been inplicated by both the Coralax and the BotBS, they seem to be villains. But as I said that's no more than speculation.

This is indeed correct. In the books, they both are criminals...recluse just decides afterwards to send the world toward a "technocracy" and states decided to avenge his brother's death to Nemesis.

Perhaps the Avilians haven't been scrapped, but perhaps it's just that the fancy-pants art for their wings were finished before the AT's powersets (and backgrounds, and missions, and whatever else comes with them) arent' nearly done.
So they take what they have (two types of wings) and offer them with the Vet Rewards, since we've been bugging them for it since the beginning, and when "the story" hits the part that would introduce the Avilians, we'll get to see them.
... assuming they managed to finish the powersets, storyarcs, etc. >_>

Anyway, unfortunately, no updates. The devs are really keeping quiet with the EATs. I'm sure it's because they either don't want to spoil anything (if there is one coming during the I8-I11 storyline) or they just haven't worked on any of them due to the I8-I11 storyline.
Well, either way, we seem to be absolutely horrible at this speculation stuff
The thing "lurking in the water" in Overbrook turned out to be nothing more than the tentacles of the Hydra.../em cry
But, as far as I can remember, the box expansion was supposed to have an EAT attached. Here's to hoping we get one (or two, if Nictus arrive in CoV) within the next year! 
And about their story-line....I'm not gonna bring in any speculation about the multi-issue story-line, the new zone accompanying it, but go to Port Oakes and look at what they're building and listen to what the NPCs say...go to Steel Canyon's Northeasternmost side and look at the construction and then look at the GvE map....hee, hee. And just for a little extra, read about this
Edit: I just made a trip to the construction site at the NE corner of Steel Canyon and the workers there mentioned that the war walls were coming down. Obviously, this NE corner is to be the first of many War Wall removal sites. yay!

The EAT's name wasn't announced, so it could be any of the four (Avilans, BotBS, Coralax, Incarnates) or something completely new. Some might think Incarnates because that was the last EAT talked about, but honestly, the question was in favor of the Incarnates (during a radio interview.) Were the question to be about another EAT, the circumstances would have turned out different.

In conjunction with what he said earlier, it's more likely that it might be the Incarnates, but as you and other nitpicker here on the forums might notice, in the W00T interview, he said "probably", and in the recent interview, he said "discussing" which are both key words, meaning nothing's still definite, but like I said, the Incarnates are more likely to get picked compared to the others.

That's not a very good assumption. Mainly because wings are different from an Epic Archetype. Also, there hasn't been any announcements regaurding the Avilans' cancellation. Unless the devs says so, it's not true - just a reminder for everyone.
Another thing to ponder upon is that everyone thinks the Avilans were cancelled just because the wings are coming. Well, hasn't anyone ever taken into consideration that the reason the devs are giving everyone wings is because they don't want wings to be limited to an EAT (so people won't complain "why do I have to be an Avilan?!#$!")?

On September 1, I PMed Castle, Positron and Statesman with the same comments and questions. The basic question was, "Have Avilans been scrapped now that wings are coming out?"
A read-reciept was requested on each one.
On September 5, Castle read it and replied: "I cannot comment on this."
On September 15, Positron read it and did not reply.
To date, Statesman has not read it.
