Damn it. Who's left running the show?
Add Vyvyan to the list too but she left ( I think she was taking care of costume and body parts ) . She replied to me twice about costume questions a long time ago .
I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
Voltaire
Vyvyane was promoted to QA lead for Lineage 2, as I recall. Or something important and techy for Lineage 2, anyway.
(Also: Lineage is a promotion? 0_o)

What happened to Geko, swinger of the nerf bat? I mean, he doesn't answer PMs or actually post, but I think he's still around.
*em glances over shoulder*
AH! REGEN NERF!
[/ QUOTE ]
Geko remains isolated in his arcane cave o' nerf. Jonyu and Castle feed him a Regen or Invul every once in awhile to sate his thirst.
[/ QUOTE ]
Should only need to feed him one regen ever... for obvious reasons unless his eating rate is greater than the regen rate.
Virtue: multiple characters.
CoH/V: Woot! Maybe Fun is to be had once again.
Ack! RUN! Regen is glowing mean & green!
If it reduces you, it's a nerf.
If it buffs the mobs, it's challenge.
They are not the same.
Yeah Weaver_One is/was a cool cat, wish he would post more on how all the costume stuff is going. He was always a good read.

[ QUOTE ]
Add Weaver_one to that list as well...though I haven't seen him post since CoV Beta.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but Weaver's an art guy. He's probably shackled to a 3d rendering program or something. Either that or he's busy playing with the Orbital Doom Laser.
[/ QUOTE ]
"if I am guilty for what goes on in my mind, than give me the electric chair for all my future crimes"
Also add Loki, CEO Cryptic Studios.
I have this from his red-name posts in mid-2005. Search the forum, they're still there. Don't know if he's still around or not.
I noticed right away, considering the name.
I'm such a geek. Some of my heroes have journals.
Yeah but I don't see what they need a "CEO" for. I'd think the Executive Producer title would be sufficient enough for most smaller Studios. ...I mean they don't even have a permanent HR director right now(If their website is anything to go off of)
A name I'm suprised I haven't seen yet is Poz and Pohsyb... both Programmers and likely the people most impacted by whatever feature-creep and bug issues rear their heads and make up a majority of gameplay discussion on these forums.
[ QUOTE ]
FYI, we've got a LOT more folks here at Cryptic working on things. the vast majority of people here don't post, though. I was here for almost a year before I got 'Red Named.'
As for why I use _Castle_ instead of Castle, someone else has Castle has a board posting name.
[/ QUOTE ]
You should use your mighty Red-Name powers and steal "Castle" from that other fellow.
Rough him up, while you are at it.
Hey you got a problem with double Underscores, pal?

Now look, I could point to how ForumAddict#1 and ForumAddict#2 registered after me but have several thousands more posts... but all I want to point out is how we should compare things on their individual merits and not let Nostalgia into the equation. There's always room for improvement on an original even if we don't always agree with the direction it goes in.
Example: Say friggin Nickelback or LinkinPark or somethin' gawdawful covered Thick as a Brick ...it would be a travesty for some of us, but it would still endear the original intent of the peice to a whole new generation. I think Game-Theory is the same way and applying some habbit learned in D&D GM'ing or whatever -- to a 3D real-time simulation simply for the Nostalgia of it all makes no sense either. ...kinda like old geezers sittin round all day talkin bout how it should be when they ought to be askin what they can do to help the new generation focus on something fresh.

::shudder::
Didn't I just post The List a little whiles ago? At any rate, judging from the number and type of people who have posted, there are quite a few that just don't have red names as Castle mentioned. Most notable being the animation/art dept who have never posted. But only a handful of programmers have posted (3-5); chances are, they have a couple more than that. Only one person from their system/engineering dept has posted and there's probably one or two other system guys/girls. Quite a few (relatively speaking) designers have posted, but even in this case, these designers have generally been from various sub depts (zone design, system design, etc) so there's likely at least one or two others in those depts. And of course only Loki has posted from the business/high end side of things. Statesman and Manticore come close, being both designers and business (both in charge of various aspects of the franchise). And that's not considering people that may be involved in smaller ways such as internal testers and such. There's probably at least twice as many people who directly work on the game at Cryptic as have posted and a bunch more who are somehow involved with the company.
And of course there's also the company that Cryptic outsources their CGI videos too, if you want to count them. :P

It's an old list that hasn't really been updated recently. Valdermic is NCsoft QA or Community I believe and "that chap" would be Brigader (or something along those lines).

Can you believe I used to have that "CD" on "8-Track"?
I have actually owned it on vinyl, and cassette too...
(This is despite the bad mastering, the snares are to hot for the first few tracks)
Just Lucky that way...
Hey there boys & girls! Just dropped by to say howdy. Yep, still around, still with NCsoft. As some of you may know, I'm working on Tabula Rasa. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to work with Lord British? Anyway, I miss all of you (well, okay, most of you). Oh, hell, some of you...
Hey, things change in this business. Projects come up and interesting opportunities present themselves. But despite all the shifting and shuffling, know that CoH/CoV is in good hands and will remain that way. So no fear.
Keep having fun.

"You work, and you slave, and you steal just enough for a sweet lick of that shiny brass ring... don't I get a lick? Doesn't Gil get a lick?"
While it really is none of our buisness. I would love to know of Arctic and Alexa are still with Cryptic/PlayNC or if they've totally left the company.
My gut feeling tells me that they too are now with Tabula Rasa, which is great. When beta testing comes around I'll be there. Just like I'm there with AA now.
But I'd also be lying if it doesnt worry me about the thinning of staff for CoX The game got twice as big and the staff is getting smaller. So either they're running things alot more efficient, or it's a bad omen.

TR is looking very interesting, but I'm thinking they increased staff for the development and launch of CoV and are just going back to normal now.
Since it's doubtful they'll tell us, it's all speculative.
