Cupid - > Roman name for Eros.
Eros - > Greek godling of Love (son of Aphrodite/Venus).
Cupid is sometimes depicted as a youth in a toga with bow and arrow, not always as a flying cherub.

I never consciously put two-and-two together with Togas and V-Day, but something just sorta clicked when I read about them as an unlock.
Toga's? whit kin' ay cheil wears a toga. Min', th' romans cooldnae make a gang ay it in these blessed isles, a real cheil needs a Kilt!

Devs, please stop discriminating against the tailed folk. 
For those wanting kilts, weren't formal kilts worn as the skirt and a chest piece much like the top of a toga that matched. I swear in Braveheart they had that on shoulder thing jusat like a Toga. Make it green and you're good to go...all they have to do now is allow you to make it plaid.

Yeah, I'm definitely guilty of using the toga as a tunic. Call me crazy, but I think it makes a pretty good fancy tunic.
Now, I've never had the best taste, but I came up with this. You can't really see the golden body sparkles in the picture, but they're there.

I don't understand why people keep saying/wondering if they are going away. The santa hats are still around arnt' they. Seems to me that if the Devs take the costume options away, it wouldl just cause problems for people currently using them (ie, what would be put in it's place, would there be even more free tailoring sessions, etc).

The characters that have already claimed them will keep them, but after a certain date, no new characters will get it. And, after that date, if your character hasn't logged on you won't it.
