Fireball - Will It Ever Hit?

Fireball indeed does have an accuracy penalty. Anyone that has ever used it can tell you that.

[/ QUOTE ]

Although geko has already confirmed it; my Blaster and Controller [read: I've used it a lot] have never noticed an acc penalty with Fireball.

Yep it appears its been a perception thing for me all this time. I guess you just see more misses when you're fireballing a crowd. I just did a test involving a 100 shots each of fireball and fireblast against even con level 2 Hellion minions unslotted. I figured it would be easy enough to see a major difference. Fireball actually landed 74% to 66% for Fireblast. Anyone have a crow pie I can borrow?

Dont feel too bad, as your not the first person to think accuracy (Or a powers accuracy) is screwy (Especially after any kind of patch).

wait a minute. didn't someone confirm a known bug with (certain?) aoe powers missing more against moving targets? i could have sworn someone was talking about this in the last day or 2, and it came out of some scrapper talk about shadowmaul. it's a cone not a sphere and all, but they're both still aoe.

I played my Fire/Fire Blaster last night and noticed no Acc issues with Fireball, even against moving targets. It hit about the same as it always does.

I believe that bug is/was for cone attacks only

For the most part, only control AoE powers have Accuracy penalties. At the moment, I cannot recall any AoE damage powers that have an accuracy penalty. Fireball, most certainly, does NOT have an accuracy penalty.

welcome back geko!!

psst... update your sig... hehe.

Yes! I'm NORMAL! What are you looking at freak!?

You mean how Cone attacks won't register all of the people within a cone? -.o

It will hit. I play all my cov to 17 without enh at all. You will noitice a huge diff when you get to DO's and especially SO's. I have a 38 rad/kin corruptor and with tactics and one acc in each attack i run my own mishs on vicious. Have pateince and save your money, training enh are a sham and arent worth using for toilet paper.
Side note. Infamy gets better but not until 30

Hence Gecko's "Accuracy has not been nerfed" sig.

People see what they want (or in the case of concern over being "gimp" ... what they don't want) to see.

I wanted to add something to say to the OP.

I have a 26 fire/therm myself with SOs in all my slots.
Instead of waiting till I had all the infamy required to get them I started running some AE arcs.

So SOs at my lvl are 75 tickets each and with a few runs with a team I was able to get over 2k in tickets allowing me to save my inf for other stuff and just use the ticket vendor for enh.

YMMV

<QR>

For Corruptors, the following powers have an accuracy penalty (meaning that the subtotal of (1 + AccSlotting) * (75% + ToHit Buffs - Defense on target) gets multiplied by the following value):
Dark Blast - Dark Pit (0.8)
Sonic Blast - Shockwave (0.9)
Sonic Blast - Siren's Song (0.9)
Storm Summoning - Gale (0.9)
Storm Summoning - Thunder Clap (0.8)
Presence - Invoke Panic (0.8)

That's it. There are no other powers available to Corruptors that have a penalty, and each and every one of those is an AoE control (counting KB as a control). This can also be checked using the in-game numbers.

The only inherent accuracy penalty is for AoE control powers, there is no accuracy penalty for a damage power simply being an AoE and anyone saying otherwise is ignorant or lying.

Does a Miss generate the same amount of aggro as a hit?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, a miss generates the same amount of base aggro as a hit does, but the extra damage that is done on a hit increases the aggro even more. The difference between attack aggro and damage aggro is pretty large, so generally you won't notice unless you're solo, or your teammates stop attacking.

You mean we're supposed to pay attention to the post dates of more than the person one post above you?

That's a pretty epic necro. (Especially ironic is the name of the poster responsible. )

Yeah, I know, what was I thinking? *slaps forehead*

I was just skimming the thread and almost missed the fact it was a necro too. It wasn't until I hit geko's post (whose name is no longer red) that I realized what happened. Sneaky!

I caught it the second the OP said that "infamy doesn't exactly flow into bank accounts", I was all like WTH?! and checked the post date. Not fair pulling a necro on us like this!!

Wow LMAO I didn't even realize that was an old post.

It is quite ironic though.
