I got a purple drop just now while I had this thread open. Not helpful I know, but I thought it was amusing.

My Grav/FF feels like the most control-oriented controller I have, if you count knockdowns and the occasional Phase Shift (and a controller pet!).

Wow thanks that is the exact problem I was having, off to get Service Pack 3 now

Hello, the launcher says the game updated fine, however when I try to play the game I get the following error message:
The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll
I've tried the repair option a few times but it does not seem to be doing anything useful. Anyone have any idea what this means or what I could try next? Thanks! -
I noticed lad night that my Stealth IO in Hover does not seem to be lasting the 2 min after I switch Hover off. Has that changed recently or am I merely unobservant?

My Emp/Energy doesn't have any Fitness powers so it will be a big boon for her! I will pick up the teleport pool for sure.
For my Rad/Rad def it is gonna be tough. I think I will pick some powers that do well with single slots - TP Friend, maybe a couple of Concealment powers. Same for my Fire/Dark corruptor. -

Last night I actually had an NPC run away, lose aggro, come back and start running away again when he saw me. Scary Defender is SCARY!
I think it might be the acid mortar as I have noticed some NPCs flip out and run right after they take the DoT acid damage.
edit: I should note I have only noticed this so far with mobs in Praetoria. -
Playing a Traps/Dual Pistols in Praetoria and it seems like my caltrops are causing an unusual amount of OHMYGODRUUUN! on the Resistance NPCs. As in, they run out of the caltrops, down the hall, up the stairs... back to the mission door, and reset/lose aggro. I'm reasonably sure it is caltrops causing this and not acid mortar. Have to tes more but I am only lvl 8 so far. Has anyone else experienced this?

If I play an arc that I really enjoyed is there a way I can add it or the author to a "global favorites" sort of list so I can find it again on other characters? It'd be nice if I could add notes on it too (like "good for grouping" or "try this one with so-and-so"). Does this exist or is it a wishlist thing?

Quote:Wow thanks, that explains why my Jack Frost is slow as molassey again. Ugh.speed boost no longer effects the recharge of pets, so the imps don't attack as fast as they once did for a fire/kin that boosted their pets. They still get the movement and end recovery just not the recharge boost anymore.

Hi all. I just came back to playing after a year or so. Is there an overflow channel for VirtueUnited (its full)? The last one I was in is VU2009. Thanks!

You can earn them from merits, I recieved a Apoc Chance for dmg (lethal IIRC) from the 46-50 Random Trial Reward.
Nothing like a cool 100mil to beef up my NW

Does lying on a message board make you feel good?

Well to be fair he could have had it drop for him some time before and not noticed it until he took a random merit roll. -

Placate is broke again on live, the demoralize from AS and some other status effects cause PvE (And PvP) targets to ignore the placate and continue smacking you around (Things like the -recov from elec melee, darks -tohit, etc.)
Just found that on live after the new patch with my elec/Regen

I have never experienced this bug on my claws/SR stalker. When the target has the defense debuff from Slash on it, or the Fear effect from an assassin strike, Placate works without a problem. I have been un-hidden when I placate the target as it is attacking me (and hits) but even then it does not target me. Am I just lucky??
edit: PvE only -

wait a minute. didn't someone confirm a known bug with (certain?) aoe powers missing more against moving targets? i could have sworn someone was talking about this in the last day or 2, and it came out of some scrapper talk about shadowmaul. it's a cone not a sphere and all, but they're both still aoe.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe that bug is/was for cone attacks only -

I have also tossed a Fireball into a group of 8 or more hoping it would miss most, and it hit the vast majority of them.

Does a Miss generate the same amount of aggro as a hit? -
At 44 I was getting something like 14 prestige and 0 influence; so you might need to switch out of SG mode on occasion to get some influence for costumes or enhancements.

Honestly the only time I have ever lost the trial was when we tried to do it with my rad defender and 3 blasters. We even made it to the reactor room, just got overwhelmed a couple times and the reactor ran out of health on the last wave.
The main problems that are going to make it more likely that you will fail are an unbalanced team makeup (like mine above) and people who do not listen or have any tactics. It is a tough mission but it seems comparable to every task force I have done. I am sorry to hear you have been unable to complete it so far, here are a few things I try to do to ensure a successful trial:
- Keep everyone within 2-3 lvls of each other. If you have one lvl 26 and 5 lvl 23s, the mission will set for the lvl 26 and you will likely be in for a very rough ride.
- Make sure the group is willing to stick together. One dimbulb running around aggroing multiple groups and setting off proximity bombs or just doing his own thing playing cowboy is more trouble than he is worth
- Make sure your teammates know how they will work together, and take a few minutes to cover tactics. i.e. Let the tanker go in first, try to kill debuffed mob last, I can do this to disorient the minion, you need to be close to me for heals, try to stay within the bubble, whatever. Sometimes it is better to cover stuff that is simple or obvious to you just to make sure everyone is on the same page
- balancing team, it's good to try and have a variety of archetypes, all of my successful teams have had at least 3 different ATs.
Anyway I hope this advice was helpful to some, best of luck on a successful respec
