SG mode and Prestige
Well, at level 33 it's still better for me to stay in SG mode - a +2 headman gunman gave me 1100influence outside SG mode, or 100inf and 49 prestige in SG mode.
But yeah, influence rewards increase as you level while prestige rewards stay pretty much the same, so I can see the upper levels being more rewarding if you go via influence rather than raw prestige.
One thing to note though is that you won't get any salvage if you go the purchasing route, so depending on your goals you may have to go for the lower prestige rate anyway.
The idea is for it to ALWAYS be more viable to stay in SG mode. It just gives us 50s something to plug our Inf into.

Good point!
I suppose one way of doing things, if you can't afford the inf loss, is to have your hero/villain exemplar down, or enter a PvP zone that's lower than your level to be auto-exemplared down, and do stuff that way in SG mode.
Still rack up prestige and salvage, but you won't be earning xp before you get enough inf to buy enhancements.

I see that while in SG mode you get Prestige instead of influence. However, if you go to the lady in Atlas Park (who you setup the SG and base with) she will sell you prestige for 2000 every 100000 influence. Note thats 50 influence to 1 prestige.
However, at level 40, I get like 17 prestige or 1200 influence. But I can 'buy' 24 prestige for 1200 influence. So, even if I want prestige, I'll do better staying out of SG mode since I can buy more prestige with the influence I get out of SG mode than I get as pure prestige in SG mode per defeat.
Of course this is based on like 2 hours of play, so there may be lots of details I'm not aware of (yet)...

Check your decimal places.
It's 2000p for 1,000,000 inf. (1 per 500, not 1 per 50).

Ahhhh, I see...hehe
Might be a good idea to have those kind of numbers include the commas in the text, it looked like 100,000 to me...
BTW, very clever that the abrevaition for both 'influence' and 'infamy' is 'inf.'...
Now, on the other hand, you can pay your team mates to stay in SG mode by sharing the excess influence ou have at the much higher level so they can function, and your SG can get the prestige it needs...

It's too bad that I can't give my poor villain some of my rich hero's inf.
Think of it this way, even families sometimes support a person that others consider bad. You're family, you protect each other.

Sometimes, I impress my boss. Sometimes, I impress myself. The rest of the time, I scare people. I can live with that.

Ok with that being said... When are the building prices going to drop???!!! The price for rooms kill what prestige is available.
"Sorry team, we got lots or rooms, but we have to wait 6 months to place anything cool in them! Keep working on getting that 3 prestige for a defeat! If we push hard enough, we could afford a generator is about 2 months!"
Sorry, but I don't want to have to say that to my SG.... I have been running this group for over a year now, we have 30-45 members, and we only get prestige for 15 of those??? Gimme a break.
I am not trying to start a flame war, but they promote the bases so hard, but we cannot build a decent one for about 8 months now.
*sigh* I know this will fall on deaf ears, or will get shoved aside with "well, that's how it is SUPPOSED to work.."
Oh well.
Another thing the insane prices do is discourage small, exclusive SG's. It kinda forces spamming advertisments and blindly recruiting as many people as possible. You need a gigantic group of active players to really be able to afford anything good, and even if you manage to save up for it otherwise, the upkeep will kill you.

Amen...
But it still does not affect the 20k per member and only up to 15 members... 300k will not even allow you to add a studio room onto the base.....
Thing is, the villain group I'm in will skew the numbers. We only have 10 people in the group so far and we've managed to buy two rooms (nothing in them yet) over the course of the weekend. At the rate we are going, I'll be able to drop a room per day into the base and start populating the base the with room contents by next weekend. Even going by piecemeal.
Alone, I've amassed more prestige than the next 3 people in the villain group and they aren't slouches either. Thing is, you need to start in SG mode early like level 1 or 2 kind of early especially since you don't start losing Infamy until level 25. Sure, once I hit 25, I'll need to make sure that I have enough infamy to upgrade enhancements at 27/28. But other than that, I'll live in SG mode while I'm out earning xp.

They are not the same.
If your SG is having issues with being in SG mode then they probably arent worth having in the SG anyways. Especially as they can have all their normal costume colors AND they don't have to wear the chest logo if they opt not too and they still remain in SG-mode. There is no excuse for SG members not to be in SG mode now other than they dont want to be a part of the SG.
At 44 I was getting something like 14 prestige and 0 influence; so you might need to switch out of SG mode on occasion to get some influence for costumes or enhancements.

Ah, but there is an excuse - they don't get influence past 35. Big deal? Yes, it is a big deal to some. Specifically - it is a big deal to me.

Something that I noticed for prestige vs. influence:
When you finish a story arc, you will get an enhancement reward. Also, you will get experience and influence, if you are in normal mode.
However, if you are in SG mode when you finish the story arc (not finishing the last mission in the arc, but actually talking to the contact and choosing your enhancement reward), you will get experience, but no influence or prestige.
That's right. If you're wearing SG colours when finishing the story arc, you'll be getting an enhancement and experience, and nothing else.
I noticed this on the first day of I6 on Live, but my one character in an SG hasn't had a chance to test this again recently, so I'm not sure if this is a bug (that may or may not have been fixed), or if it is intended.

I think if you can't get your SG members to wear their SG costume..then maybe they are not cut out for an SG. I mean....I earned 3k prestige just last night doing a few missions...many people in my SG have around 10k now.
I haven't tested this out myself but I wholly imagine that it is a bug and not intentional. The devs KNOW people need influence to buy enhancements and SOs are VERY expensive. I expect to see this issue patched very soon.

They don't even have to change their costume colors if they don't want to. After all, the player chooses which parts of their costume to recolor for SG mode. I have a toon where the only difference between her regular and SG costumes is the symbol on her chest.

I am not trying to nitpick, but I hope the 3 Prestige comment was meant as an exageration. On my 23 Kat/Reg, I was getting 11 for all the whites I was fighting, and a minimum of 50 for yellow lietenants, and 250 for an orange boss. I don't know how much I actually gained yesterday, but it was several thousand doing just 2 missions solo on the lowest reputation setting. Plus 4 pieces of salvage.

No, the comment about 3 was not a joke. You earn less and less prestige as you gain lvls. By lvl 37 even, im only getting between 3 and 20 per mob unless it's a boss several levels higher than me.
