SG mode and Prestige
Is this a bug ?
When you complete an arc and check back with the contact, you get a nice XP bonus and an SO. If you are in SG mode, you get neither influence nor prestige, surely you should get one of them. Having noticed this I'm popping out of SG mode before talking to the contact to pocket the cash then going back in to SG mode. (this was CoH not CoV if it matters and it was the Steven Sheridan 35-40 rikti arc)
I would have thought completing an arc should be worth a lot of prestige as it is the voiding of a threat to the city (or the completion of a diabolical scheme).

It's not a bug, as far as the General Populace can tell. The Dev's seem quite happy with those numbers. Apparently they don't want anyone actually USING a base anytime in the next few months. THere must be some Kinks that need working out. ;-)

Ah, but there is an excuse - they don't get influence past 35. Big deal? Yes, it is a big deal to some. Specifically - it is a big deal to me.

Wait wait wait, if you're in SG mode you don't earn xp after level 35? Are you kidding me? In addition to having to tweak the SG settings for each freakin' costume change, you don't earn xp? WHY IS THAT NOT IN THE PATCH NOTES?
Man I gotta start coming to the boards more often to find out how this game really works.

Edit: I said "xp" but I meant "influence". I was so freaked out I couldn't do it right.
They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Yep.
This is also why any SG that tries to peer pressure me into running in SG mode can go [censored] [censored] their [censored] while [censored] [censored] a [censored] [censored] unless they're going to be reimburse me the influence. Since neither of the SGs I happen to be in at the moment can do that for me, [censored] [censored] Prestige.
One of the things I've noticed about prestige is that if there are multiple people in your team in SG mode the prestige goes down per person. That may be why you are only seeing 3 prestige earned. However, my friend and I started up an SG yesterday evening. We played for a few minutes after forming up and choosing our colors. I think we did 2 missions. One was a street sweep and one was a door mission. Level 12. Default difficulty. We earned, duoed, about 2k. I think we played for all of 20 minutes. (Thats combat time, I'm not including travel time to that)
Now, I also have a problem with the SG spamming. I rarely saw that much spamming except in PI for PLs. Now its across almost every zone. I know one SG that sent me a blind SG invite everytime I entered a new zone. I actually stopped to talk to one of the senders and he told me that they had a rep in almost every major zone to pad their numbers.
Look people, an SG is work. If you have a solid SG, you shouldn't NEED a base. A close knit group of friends that are always on at the same time and always group together is a much better SG than the 75 member SG with 80 rooms in their base. For fun, on a whim, I accepted his invitation. Then I left when I looked at the SG roster and saw that there had been about 75% of the roster absent for at least 8 days. Thats not an SG. Its an elitest club. A few specific people will benefit from the prestige that the whole will gather. It is a group that lacks leadership, direction, and any benefit.
When I get these blind SG invites, I'm constantly startled by the responses I get from the sender when I ask questions. "What does your SG offer? What are the benefits of joining? What is your rank structure? What does it take to get promoted? Do you schedule events for all members? Badge hunts? Do you ensure that everyone gets Accolades? What about influence? What does the SG expect from me? What are my duties as a low ranking member?
I have yet to get satisfactory answers to these questions. There is a horde of SGs out there but none are really good. There are a few above average groups out there, but too many of them are now worried about prestige and so they seek to pad their numbers. I gauruntee you this. If you have a close knit group of friend who always group together and hang out in SG mode you will never be hurting for prestige. I know I have gone a little off topic but you have to admit that the blind SG invites are almost as bad as the stealth PL invites.
I have 2 Supergroups in the Victory server one in CoH and one in CoV. It is sad that you have to ask people to help earn PRESTIGE for the supergroup but if you want a good base it had to be done. Our rules are mild compare to some in Victory and the other servers. Players had to be in SG Mode within the 1st 10 days of joining and stay in it and inactive players for 25 days would get bumped too. Colors and Symbols were optional in SG Mode that allow player to keep what they like. All member can invite people they like to our sgs too. I wanted our sgs to be fun to play and not super hungry for PRESTIGE and follow crazy rules. Our Hero SG took a while but its in the Top 100 on the server and has an Excellent Base too thanks to our loyal membership. Our Villain SG had help from our players from my Hero SG too and made that a great base also. Our rules were even more flexible in our CoV sg. What really helped all SGs was the Rent changes that freed up PRESTIGE for more base building that helped save our Villain SG too as well as new Supergroups.
Both of my sgs are happy and has a strong following of members they are greatly appreciated for all their help. I allow them access to all bins at level 20 in our CoH sg and from the beginning in our CoV sg. We also added for our loyal members and those who reach Level 50 soon PERSONAL ROOMS for all 50s in our BASEs. (PRESTIGE IS APPRECIATED HERE)
What drives me crazy is the hungry sgs that not only want to be number one but want it on all servers. I have played across the servers and found it sad on how BAD and HUNGRY some Supergroups are for PRESTIGE. There is one on the Victory server that recruits and bumps all the time to keep a 75 member sg playing all the time to get to the top and run away with it too. This is done to take the PRESTIGE they earn from them for their own goals. I HATE USERS
The game was designed to be fun for all and yes the PRESTIGE has to be earned. I think a good Prestige System would be to take with you the PRESTIGE you earned so the users don't take advantage of you and BUMP you.

Just sell all your invention stuff, you'll get plenty of inf.
Oh wait you wanna use the invention stuff.
Sell all the useless drops you get...
Oh wait we dont have them anymore.

No, the comment about 3 was not a joke. You earn less and less prestige as you gain lvls. By lvl 37 even, im only getting between 3 and 20 per mob unless it's a boss several levels higher than me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm. That seems a bit silly. The amount you get should stay the same as you level, as long as you are fighting bad guys that are conning the same to you. I really haven't done much with Prestige yet. I knew that you stop getting inf at 35, and only get Prestige, but that seems like an even bigger reason that you should be gaining the same prestige, if not MORE, at the higher levels. You are getting Prestige because of your deeds as a super hero. At the higher levels, you are stopping much bigger bad guys, so you should get more Prestige. To give less Prestige as you level, PLUS not being able to earn Influence while in SG mode sounds a bit harsh.
