Archmage Tarixus Unlock Badge???

So, if you've been to sharkhead and done the missions for Crash Cage, she sends you to a level 25-30 contact named Diviner Maros. He in turn sends you to a guy named Archmage Tarixus as part of a mission (doesn't unlock him there). Now, I've figured out that Tarixus is one of the new-fangled contacts who only speak to you once you have a certain badge (Veluta Lunata in Port oakes is another of these).

So, I spent several hours getting Soul Binder, thinking that would prove to him that I hated the Circle. Aaaaaand guess what happened. NOTHING. And therein lies the problem.

So, does anybody know how to unlock this guy?? I'd normally just skip such a pain in my posterior, but he gives the second badge mission for the 25-30 range....and I'm a badge [censored].

Help me please!!!!

might be the weed whacker badge that you can only get for taking out just the bosses,not mages in general. just guessing here.

I'm thinking you could be right.....and on that chance I've spent the last 8 hours wandering around Sharkhead killing Agony Mages (since they spawn pretty often around that SW island when you're solo). I counted, ended killing about 110 of them. No badge. So either I've been killing the wrong CoT bosses for the past 8 hours, or it takes more than 110 of them to get the badge. Which really blows, because I'm already 2 bubbles into 29 from this crap.

I just want my badge mission dag nammit!!!!

Considering the story arc he gives, it should be died to some of the slag golem badges. I received both and the gladiator at the same time, from a mission from the Lorenzo guy, AFTER I beat all the missions he wanted to give me, which is kinda odd.

Is it possible he's a SG contact that will only talk to you after getting the SG badge?

Anything is possible. To be truthful, I don't really know that he's the second badge mission contact for the 25-30 range. My guess is based only on the fact that I've done the other contacts for that range (Operative Kirkland, Diviner Maros, Darla Mavis, Lt. Demitrovich, Shadowy Figure) and they've stopped giving out missions......so Tarixus is my last hope. Also, on vidiotmaps.com if you go to the 'Accomplishment' section and scroll down to the 'Soul Taker' badge the description says something like this: "The wizard Taraxis taught you dark secrets of the infernal realms in this mission."

It's a minor spelling issue, but to me it's clear that we're talking about the same person.

Still, I just hope I actually get a response from Positron today....

its gotta be weed wacker that opens him up, problem is i dont een think that badge is working atm. cause he more or less gives the same text as henri doumont gives, who wants the strike buster badge.

It's "Weed Whacker". I am checking right now that this badge is attainable for the appropriate level characters so they can do Tarixus' content.

I'm just wondering - if Posi can't take a leak without leveling a city block, which city did we lose when THAT happened?

One of my COV villains is named "Weed Whacker" (both in Beta and now live). Characters don't risk getting wiped because they share a name with a badge, do they?

I'm 99.9% sure the answer is no but thought I'd better ask.

I just got him, after doing reading this post. I went around sharkhead isle via vidiotmaps.com talking to all the contacts and i was able to get him.

I'm a lvl 29 dm/ea brute.

I unlocked the sg badges here.

You can get the Sweet Tooth badge in Cap Au Diable. But it requires using a hole in the terrain and having the ability to fly. You can use a rocket pack, or the pool powers to get to it.

Hopefully that badge will be moved in an upcoming patch and the big hole in the terrain fixed.

I've got almost the exact same badges, plus a few. And I've got all the contacts completely filled. He gets referred by Diviner Maros as an errand mission, but that doesn't unlock him.



So he's really giving you missions???

Calm down, probably a bug. Go hunt some more Thorns and keep count for the rest of us. It's very apprecated.

The Weed Whacker badge is for CoT Bosses that are CoV-ONLY (otherwise those stinkin' Heroes could get the badge!).

Unfortunately, most of those bosses are level 30+, not a good requirement for a contact that is only level 25 to 29.

So we are changing the badge required to unlock him to something that is attainable once you get into Sharkhead. The badge will no longer be Weed Whacker to unlock him.

This is in a build being made today, so it will be a week or so before it gets to the Live servers.
