Manticore had the best sense of humor
I would like to point out that Statesman, for all his virtues, has NO sense of propriety. I told him I'd explain my evil plan to him... before I killed him and in response? He oneshots me.
The world has not heard the last of Dr. Viktor Viklas, though. At the time of my choosing I shall escape and then I will Show Those Fools! Show them all! To Viktor go the spoils!

At one point last night while we were giving States our all he said
"You Villains are tough" then after a brief pause said" But not tough enough!" He then laid waste with a foot stomp that hit me for 1223 points of damage and wasted everyone who was to close.I gotta admit i fell to States at least 7 times and it was worth it.

PS. Statesman after you left i kicked a puppy for every time you killed me! It's all your fault Muahahahahahaa.
Was Operation Destiny an act of aggression against a sovereign state? Was it sanctioned by the White House or by Congress? Does Statesman's (or, for that matter, any other hero's) affiliation with the Federal Bureau of Superpowered Affairs make the US government a sponsor to or liable for his (or our) actions in the Rogue Isles?
I'd venture to say it's easy to consider the heroes state actors. They're expressly licensed by the government and given powers of law enforcement (actually powers actually surpassing those of regular police officers).
If the Swat Team posted a press release saying "We're going to invade country X," and governmental officials not only allowed it to happen but actually HELPED stage the event, providing medical support and such, I think saying it was a government act isn't too much of a stretch.

My favorite moment though was when Statesman ran. A priceless villain moment. Well, either that or it was a lousy excuse for herding. That made the whole event for me...dozens of MM minions on "attack my target" chasing in his wake (he doesn't have supression!) and villains chasing behind shouting "Coward!" That's okay, he ran into the second group coming to join us and got summarily thumped. LOL.

As we were fighting the player controlling Manticore in the end of beta event, he started letting loose some smack talk. Pretty funny. Asked who wanted the "enema arrow" and then plugged his Web of Arachnos book.
Screens of his dialog below:

Positron also did alot of smack talking. He went on about how his armor held in his power so what chance did we have of hurting it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, the funniest Positron comment was when he started calling out for Satanic Hamster. On the CoV boards, Hamster said he was going to hunt down Positron in the event. So I found the "Must ... find ... Hamster" pretty funny from him in combat.
And of course the "you guys are all grey to me --- no XP".
Towards the end of the event, we ran into a hero named Agent_Abbot. He stuck around a long time and was very tough. He kept using Nova and taking out my henchmen (grrrrr).
Who was that?

Actually, I think Resistance is something along the lines of the Giant Monster code. There was no way my level 8 Brute could consistently hit a level 50, but I managed to land a few blows nevertheless.
I could be wrong, of course.

You forgot Synnapse, when being pelted by rapid-fire global friend invites from someone whose name I won't mention:
"If you don't stop that I will ban you."
One particular Synapse conversation where he offered to "cut a deal" with the mob pummeling the tar out of him was memorably funny.
I also remember his "Statesman!!!! Whirlwind isn't working!!!!" and his "NOOOOOOOOOOO" when threatened with the nerfbat.
Wish I'd thought to take screenies

Glad you enjoyed it. After all, what is a good super-powered battle without witty banter.
If you think I've got a smart mouth, you should spend some time with Sister Psyche.

Yeah, you got that right. On our instance of Mercy Island we were street-fighting with her, and alot of the villains were trying to taunt her while the only brute that could get by her mezzes and repulsion powers was fighting her. They were saying "I'm thinking about you naked, Sister!" a few were saying "my robots will dance on you Sister Psycho". Myself when I got within five feet said something arrogant and cocky while I unloaded a machinegun burst into her.
At that moment she said "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful, hate me because I'm kicking your butts!", then with a repulsion blast she knocked the whole crowd around her ten feet away onto our backs, skipped away and soon disappeared without a trace.
She's got some attitude. I think a heard more edgy talk from her when I came across her again in another instance of the zone. Also, although the second time when she suddenly disappeared from my target radar, a few people said that she was defeated, I think that both times she had plenty of health, and that she invis-teleported away. That girl's really sneaky and evasive, and I'm sure her perception is through the roof.

How many of you losers are working for Ghost Bimbo?
I cant seem to find any minds to read around here.
The weaker the will, the easier it is to control.
Dont hate because Im beautiful, hate me because Im kicking your butt!
The teleport to the hospital is ready for departure, Im Sister Psyche and Ill be your cruise director.
After reading your mind I realized that actually is the best you can do.

Uh... You know, in her Task Force, she sounds more like the generic quasi-omnipotent seer than the generic Irish redhead... I always thought Manticore was supposed to be the wittiest. (Didn't Psyche even say as much in the comic? Or was that Aurora...?)
May be time to revisit her Task Force text.

Statesman was a coward. My mastermind, Widow, had pulled back from a large crowd to rest up a bit when out of nowhere I was hit from behind. I flew up then my robots and a few nearby villains rushed him before he ran off.
(Actually it was the highlight of my night, getting five seconds alone with him. I have to get an "I survived a pummeling by Statesman" shirt made.)
Synapse was amusing and obviously having fun letting us beat up on him. He ran around a bit when his health got low, but he stayed in the area for us to finish it.
I saw War Witch's name for half a second, but unfortunately that was all.
Agent Miraaj entertained us in Mercy 10 most of the rest of the time.
Wow! That was fast.
Thanks again. This is a great read.
Personally I have never seen anyone Fly as fast as War Witch

You've got it backwards, actually. 'Operation Destiny' is the name of /Arachnos'/ attack on Paragon City. You may have noticed that the Zig was on fire and had lots of fun holes all over it.
Arachnos attacked first. Statesman's Strike was a retaliatory attack.

Those were good, but I loved Pos, Synapse, and States' dialogue the best.
Someone: STATES IS HERE!
States: No, no - I'm over THERE
States: LET'S DO THIS!
Pos: LEEEEEROY!
Synapse: States, I'm in trouble here!
Synapse: One guy is stabbing me in the back, and the other keeps vomiting on me!

OMG, I SO wish I saw them do leeroy! That is awesome! It's official! I love these guys a lot!

My favorite beta event moment was filling my tray with revives and calling out Back Ally Brawler in global. He hit me for half damage and I broadcasted "Is that ALL YOU GOT brawler!? Bet you can't do that again!" He turned RIGHT around and sunk one into my jaw. I rezzed up, taunted him, died. Lather rinse repeat for a whole tray of revives. The few times I snuck away he was INGORING other villains just to take me out again. :P
Here's an image of Manticore's powers, LordSnake. As you can see, he has no power called Enema Arrow! I feel sort of let down.
Our Devs really do have the best sense of humor.
Here are a few screen shot I got from the Beta ending. How do you get the labels and everything else to capture?
