(Base To Hit + To Hit Buffs - To Hit Debuffs – Defense capped at 5% or 95%) * Accuracy capped at 5% or 95% again

    [/ QUOTE ]

For those questioning when are the caps applied, from above the cap is processesed twice. Once after the overall To Hit has been calculated:

Base To Hit + To Hit Buffs - To Hit Debuffs – Defense = Overall To Hit (capped)

Note that the Defense value will include any debuff's applied to the player.
And again once the Accuracy modifier has been applied:

Overall To Hit * Accuracy = Attack chance (capped)

NB: correction in the qoute, added brackets to indicate precedence
  2. I have a simple idea to make the resistance from the passives more fair. As it stands at the moment (so I understand) if you have HP below a certain level then you get a certain amount of damage resistance, dependent on how low your HP really is.

The problem with this is if you get hit with sufficient damage to eat a large chunk your HP in one shot then you get little or no damage resistance applied to that value, and that shot can easily kill you. The effect is that the biggest single strike damage (that hits) totally undoes any benefit from the resistance that was added.

My suggestion is to apply incremental resistance on incomming damage. For example:

    1. Divide the scrappers HP in to quarters.

    2. Scrapper is at full health and gets hit with a big strike.

    3. Apply no resistance to the quantity of damage that takes the HP down to 3/4.

    4. Apply some small resistance for damage passing through to 1/2 HP.

    5. Bigger resistance to 1/4 HP... etc... you get the picture.

It doesn't have to be quarters, that was just my example. Finer increments are easy enough, and it should provide a bigger chance of survivability with big heavy damagers, i.e. most AV's and Monsters, Hewer Elite's, and so on.

Sorry if this has already been considered and rejected.
  3. I have to wonder if the outcome would be the same if the ingame versions (if they all exist) were to do the same?

All these reasons are why they are worth more XP than normal.

But surely, when you hit level 40 you don't get xp anymore (until lev 50 boost arrives)

Ballista is a Toggle Dropping *******!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, he is. He was designed to be as close to a Player Hero as we could make him. How do you guys like the Toggle Drop on him? Is it too nasty or does it add a nice challenge?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would only be fair if we can perform toggle drop on them just as easily.

Keep doing that and you'll go blind.
  9. So far I only use the number 1 to 5 for my primary attacks, and click everything else to use it. It just too cumbersome to start doing keboard gymnastics for the rest.

I agree with the changes suggested, after all if anyone wants something different they could just keybind it. Would suggest an up to date and improved keybinding help section for this to help out those that want it.

The main ability I think that will help me most is just being able to display a third tray.

On a related note, could you make it possible to have the same power visible on multiple trays (if it isn't already possible). What a person could then do is create more than one power layout on different trays, and shift between them as the need arrises. Say for example a combat tray, a travel tray, a fun tray, etc... whatever takes thier fancy.

No critisism or flame here. Devs keep up the good work and have fun, because I am .
  11. I actualy wrote a guide about this kind of thing, mostly with the Hollows in mind. Here it is: How to travel without dying.

Now I realise that there are some errors in the text, but I've not posted an update as of yet, but all the ideas in it are sound. Hope this helps those of you who are finding some travel difficult.
  12. Thought I'd post a link here to another guide I've noticed about a particular kinetic/psychic build.

    Kinetic/Psychic Offender

From the looks of things the full function of this build only comes above level 32, but I believe that Kinetics is one of the few defender builds that can hope to compare to blaster damage.

As for the mental blast debate, depending on how dedicated to your primaries you are in the first 10-20 levels it may be one of your few attacks, so it'll benefit from slots, but you can always respec them out when you hit 24.

Personally mental blast will be my only attack until level 22. I play a primarily team defender and wanted to take all of my primaries. Being Kinetic meant that I didn't even need a travel power. There was just enough room in the build to have all low level primaries, hasten and stamina by level 20.
  13. Top 10 is good, but why not a top 100!

My contribution: Slow and steady saves debt. Fools rush in where Heroes fear to tread. You can play a good tactical team of 3/4 (and get better xp) where a bad team of 8 would die everytime.
