Blood of the Black Stream

The CCG winner's hero had a great backstory. One thing puzzles me, though. It mentions the "Blood of the Black Stream." Was the writer privy to some inside information, or did they just use the name without knowing what the BotBS really is? Can I also be privy to this inside information if it exists?

According to the winner, the CCG developers added Blood of the Black Stream to his entry.

All we do know is that it is a new Epic Archetype that is coming soon (coming soon translation = between 1 year and 20 years from now, hehe)

Yeah, and from what's said, it doesn't sound very heroic!

Exactly what I was thinking. Interesting way to give us tiny elements of information by a non-cryptic team.
By the way, the winning origin is very nice indeed. A very smart revamp of Odin's destroyer !
Congratulations, your win was well deserved.

Blood of the Nile, huh? Doesn't exactly sound like a stereotypical Egyptian villain group to me...

Ok so let me get this right. The winner wasn't chosen because his costume was good or because his story was original. They just wanted an agyptian costume and a character of egyptian origin to add this little snippet of information about the BotBS which is part of the card game.

That seems rather unfair since they didn't say that they wanted egyptian characters and it ruled out the chance of Kheldians chaacters being viable. If I'd know that I wouldn't have sent in my Warshade.

And no offense intended to the person who won but that costume is utterly terrible, dull in the extreme.

I really, really doubt it. I'd suspect it was more like

"Ok, this is the one we like the best."
"Hey, this guy's Egyptian, we can tie it in to the Blood of the Black Stream."
"Cool idea!"

Yeah, I agree, the costume's pretty bad. And if they wanted an Egyptian character I sure could have provided...but then I didn't even know about the contest until it was over.

You can blame me for tying the character more strongly into the storyline we have planned.

The character was chosen because we liked the background *and* the costume. I had the idea to tie him in to the Blood after he was chosen.

So Blood of the Black Stream will probably debut in the issue where the Egyptian zone/enemies does, which Statesman hinted at in issue 4 on the forums.
