Red Tomax's Guide to CoH
KHAAAAAAN!!
Sorry to hear that Red. Hope it's back soon. One of the best gorram sites out there.

Here's hoping from me too. Not only have I used NoFuture for story arc info, it's an excellent resource for on the quick powerset info for both players and mobs.

I always refer new players to your site, too, since it has so much stuff there.
Plus, whenever I'm about to start a TF, somebody in it always has your site up, so that we know just how many friggin' missions are left in this thing.

Thank you Red. I love your Villian site too btw.

P.S. Did you notice that now when you hover over a story link the tooltip popup will tell you the mission accept text of the first mission for that story.
Sometimes I found I couldn't match a story to the mission in game, so I added that in over the weekend to help in those cirumstances ... Example
Edit: Yikes, it's nealy 2 am now. Must sleep, got to conserve my energy for the double XP weekend after-all

Server Upgrade
As you prob know, the site's had some reliability problems over the Summer -- long story short -- the site is moving to a new, faster, more reliable, more professionaly run, more expensive home and it's happening already.
This coming weekend the existing site will be frozen and data migrated to the new machine. By the 19th of August the new site will replace the frozen site and hopefully everything will be working nicely from the off.
Please bear with me, hopefully everything will go smoothly (as if) and you won't notice any problems at all!
See you on the other side.
Ooh, upgrades for NoFuture? Yay! =^_^=
At least we can still see the site, even if it won't be updated until next week or so.

For anyone wondering what's up wth the site, Register.com's DNS services are currently offline and there's nothing I can do about it, there's no problem with the site itself, you just won't be able to get to it (and thousands of other websites) until Register.com's outage is resolved.
Can we use a direct IP address for your site?
It seems to be working now.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Why thank you! I planned to, but forgot
Keep an eye out for a major overhaul of the site sometime in the coming months. The City of ... section has completely taken over my website over the past few years so I plan to split it off onto it's on site dedicated to the game -- I just need a good name for it!
indeed!
Some Updates:
- Completely revamped the entire site. Hopefully you'll find it a lot cleaner & easier to use now it has been split off to dedicated coh/cov sites.
- City of Data brought into the main site, replacing the existing Powers database
- Currently finishing off the level 45-50 villain content -- only half a bar 'til level 50 now!
- Begun work on what will hopefully be a comprehensive crafting/empowerment/salvage guide.
For anyone that was linking to the site the following info may be useful post-update:
Contacts
There is now a universal contacts database, all villain contacts id's are now +181 to whatever they were previously, hero contacts retain the same id.
Story Arcs/Missions
There is now a universal Story Arcs/Mission database, all villain story id's are now +282 to whatever they were previously.
Link to coh content through coh.nofuture.org.uk, and cov through cov.nofuture.org.uk -- the subdomian determines the game that the data is looked up for so you will get odd results if you link through the wrong domain.
Tho the new changes are awesome, I miss the contacts page for CoH. Not that I can't find what I'm looking for, but the old page was a lot better when you don't know the lvl of the contact your looking for.
Keep up the great work!!
Hi Red.. Just wanted to say I love your site. I keep it running in the background so I can refer to it for info on the next mission and its been very, very, very helpful.
Can I make a small suggestion? IF at all possibly can you some how rate the AV we face at higher levels so we know how to prepare for them. I'm just starting to run the Praetor Story Arc on my main after finishing up the Crey and Nemesis ones. I soloed Countess Crey with no problem and Nemesis turned out to be a huge wimp that went down faster than Countess Crey.
Then I took on the Clockwork King in "Another Dimension" ... LOL I got in one shot, mainly because I caught him from behind, before he took me out with 1 of his own. After I rezzed in the hospital I regrouped, invited a friend with a controller to join me, reset mission, and had no problem. But a list outlining what powers those AVs have would be very useful in planning for missions.

Taken into account. Keep 'em peeled.
First off, great job David!
I do like the way the Contacts are now accessed. Maybe people are confused the "Contacts" option isn't in the drop-down box (have to click it in the menu bar across the top).
Seems cleaner than before, perhaps you can even add icons or notes to each contact that can possibly give a temp-power and badge mission.
Something like a little "B" and "T" or something. Just enough so players can easily, at a glance, see who gives those special missions for temps and/or badges.
Nice work man, time to break out the old PayPal donation again!

Once again, the best site for CoH info! =^_^=

Aw, man, I miss that overview page too. I really liked the old tabular format. I especially appreciated the description info about how the contact matrix actually worked.

Old style contacts page restored. Tried something different, didn't particularly like it myself either, back to the drawing board on that one once I've finished the Salvage section I think.
Another pretty hefty update today:
Added The Cookbook -- Pretty much everything you could possibly need to know when it comes to the City of's Salvage and Crafting system.
Revamped the Powersets & Powers guide to make it faster & more usuable
Does anyone know of a site that already has good quality images of the various base items that I can borrow for the cookbook? Save me trying to find them all in coalition bases ...
Just a cursory look, but:
Cook book = WIN!
I've already forgotten about most of you

As you probably know nofuture.org.uk has had a troublesome few months with hardware failure, overheating problems and generally too much fracking downtime.
In light of all this nofuture is moving to a new home as soon as possible. In the meantime don't be surprised by the continued odd downtime here and there, with the heatwave here in the UK showing no signs of disappearing it'll probably get worse before it get's better. But rest assured, the site will be back.
