Well I'll say one thing.

After watching the trailer now 33 times, Foreshadow is growing on me.

But Positron's still the most badass by far. (Though, nice punch, States!)

And the talk of Scirocco being kind to her and on a quest that may or may-not involve her.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that's just because she reminds him of Serafina.

Keep watching the fiction section of the new City of Villains website for further details on all the Signature Villains, from the perspective of the beautiful but deadly Ghost Widow.

But who profiles the profiler?

Scorus

Don't suppose you could take a minute in your posting frenzy to give us a hint or two as to HOW you might be working it in?

Please?

You counted? I don't like counting these things. It makes me feel better about my life.

I can't help but notice that Captain Mako was voiced by Sean Fish.

Heh. Figures.

Synapse is definitely a blaster. Keep in mind that the Signature Characters all have Signature Powers that may fall outside their normal power sets. The power to call Zeus' Lighning reflected on Statesman's Heroclix figure and Sister Psyche's Mindriding ability (the power to bounce her mind into someone elses body) are good examples of this. You will see these fairly often in our videos, comics and other licensed properties.

Zeus' Lightning?

How'd States get a hold of that? Cole ventured "to the far east" and "unlocked his inner will" IIRC.

Weilding Zeus' Lightning seemingly breaks with that theme. What connection does States have to the greek pantheon now?

Just curious. Statesman was always so non-magic and non-"demigod" - he's a "natural" hero, something that makes the CoH universe unique in itself.

Or is he really a descendant of one of the greek pantheons deities, thus a "natural" (just like aliens) - which would make sense given Satesman's (designer this time) obsession with history and his pet theory of superheroes being the modern equivalent of mythical heroes.

Would also explain the helmet/mask - it kinda "breaks" with his costume too.

Which is it Manticore?

Posted

Awesome, Manticore - thanks so much for revealing this informaiton! I know a lot of it could be given piecemeal as part of history missions, but it's a lot more fun to learn this stuff outside the game.

Now that we know so much more about the iconic villains and heroes of the CoH universe, how about some info on the second stringers? You know who I'm talking about... Topknot Dude, Bug Guy, and Captain Monocle.

If you are quoting the website the paragraph actually reads:

Cole claimed to have unlocked the power of his own Inner Will, an obscure explanation at best. Whatever their true origin, it was undeniable that Cole possessed something that hadn't been seen since the age of the Greek Heroes: superpowers.

Note the word *claimed*

Statesman was clearly obfuscating there. As time has passed and he has shown no signs of aging, more questions are being asked. Issue 2 of the comic will give more details about Statesman and Issue 3 will bring the loathesome Lord Recluse's connection into sharp focus.

OK, well, THAT explains the helmet right there.

Lets face it. Statesman is a Greek god. Jack Emmert is a hugh classics fan (speaks Greek to boot) and Statesman is very "god like". So, if Statesman is a Greek God or Titan, what does that make Recluse? Is Recluse Chronos?

<------ Check location. Don't receive the comic.

But thanks for the info. That makes a whole lot of things a whole lot clearer.

Heh. A Greek God or Titan as well? I mean the Gods didn't exactly get along very well most of the time.

I would say he's more of a diety's avatar rather than being a quote/unquote "god" himself.

I don't think that quite fits. If anything, Recluse might be related to Hades. 'course, that's not a perfect fit either, but I refuse to try and fight against comic book logic as it always wins in the end.

61866 - A Series of Unfortunate Kidnappings - More than a coincidence?
2260 - The Burning of Hearts - A green-eyed monster holds the match.
379248 - The Spider Without Fangs - NEW - Some lessons learned (more or less.)

well Chronos was a God, equivilant to Saturn to the romans. Who's form has evolved to somewhat of a Grim Reaper, the ultimate evil. The keeper of time, destiny and death. I could be wrong though.

Or an immortal hero?

[ QUOTE ]

Theseus -
The son of King Aegeus of Athens and a quintessential Athenian hero. Theseus is the model citizen: a kind leader, good to his friends and countrymen. Theseus does have his shortcomings, however: he abandons Ariadne, and later doubts his own son, which leads to his tragic demise.

[/ QUOTE ]
Chonos wasn't a god, he was a Titan. Immortal beings cast down by the god for, um... eating them.

Chronos is the father of Zues, Haydes, and Posidan (sp?) and some other minor gods like Hera. Ew... Zues married his sister.

Chronos was never killed, he fled in battle versus the gods who allied with the slaves of the Titans.

Wonderful. Except that I *finally* received #11 and #12 about a day apart last week, and *still* haven't seen the new comic.

You guys need to change your distributor, he's clearly not up to snuff.

All this talk about the new comic, and I still havn't received the Issue 12 of the old one :-(

My Signature... not much to look at, not much to talk about. But the ladies LOVE it!

States and Recluse are of the yet-unseen "Incarnate" archetype, which has not been adequately described as of this writing.

My money is on an avatar-like motif, much like Marvel's Juggernaut or Thunderstrike (the old second-generation Thor).

Since CoH's mythos allows for an infinite array of pantheons to simultaneously exist, every Incarnate can probably predispose themselves to some god or another (even from different mythologies) without artistic conflict.

Besides, the two Kheldian ATs take Natural and Science enhancements. If they stick to formula, the new ATs might draw from the remaining Magic, Technology, and Mutant origins. "Incarnate" sounds pretty Magical to me, and I remember back in alpha testing when States was described as having that origin.

So the birdpeople (Avilians, I think?) and Corallax (underwater people?) will have to fight over who gets to be tech and who gets to be mutie, I suppose. The wing-arms-instead-of-hands thing implies more Mutant, but I'm deep into the realm of speculation at this point.
