Raid Uniforms - by Upsen Downs
-------------------------------
To aid with the organization of the raid, Raid Uniforms will be used.
This will allow you to tell who the raid leaders are, where to find others
of the same AT as you, and who can raise your defeated team-mates
back into action. The raid leadership can quickly tell at a glance if the right
heroes are in the right place, and makes overall planning much easier
as well.

Costume Style:
---------------
A good choice is all-defaults plus...
* Head: Full Armor - Helm 2
* Upper body: Chest: Flack 1 or Tights 1
* Pants: Tight - Tights 1 + Stripe 1

You are not limited to this setup only, as long as the colors are obvious...

A low polygon-count costume is the best option.
Take out extra polygons that can cause lag.
Suggestions of items not to wear are:
- Capes
- Auras
- Hair (wear a helmet with no extra detail polygons)
- Robot arms with extra polygons and hoses (cover it up with a sleeker shell)
- Shoulder pads (you might poke an eye out)
- Tails (tuck them in, please)
- Any item that can be replaced with a "None" on the selection list.

If you absolutely *have* to have a detail, then no one's stopping you, but
please be considerate and choose as few items as possible.

Costume Color:
---------------
1. Pick two unmistakable shades based on your Archetype. Leave the
copy-colors option selected for now. These colors mostly follow the
color of your AT icon.

* Red - Blasters
* Blue - Defenders
* Purple - Controllers
* Black&Grey - Scrappers / Tanks

A bright color in the middle of the chart (#5 or 6) is a good one for
a main color.
A darker color to the left of the chart (#3 or 4) is a good secondary color.

* Kheldians - select an AT color that your human form powers reflect.

2. To identify special powers, uncheck the copy-colors option, and
make the following changes:

Change helmet, chest & leg stripe:
* Green - Debuffer: rad, dark, storm, -end electric blasters, blizzard blasters.
* Orange - Fulcrum Shift buffer: kinetic defenders and controllers.
* White - Empathy Defenders (add a red cross on your chest if you'd like)
* Decoy Grey - Illusion controllers who are participating in the aerial decoy drop to distract Hamidon. Please use the same light greyish-blue shade that your decoys are.

* Bright Yellow whole body - Raid Leadership.

...and that's it! Now you will be able to tell who does what at the raid.

Happy costuming! Spread the word.

Upsen.

p.s. If you need help with the color selections, please send a message
titled "Costume Help" to me: "Upsen Downs" or "@Upsen Downs" ingame,
"Upsen_Downs" on the forums.

v3 edits:
- added Tights 1 as a recommended torso option
- added entry for Illusion Controllers. no sample graphic yet but I'll have one up soon.
- removed entry for Rangefinder, since they are specificed by friendlist
and they tend to be assigned at the raid, not before it.

*grumbles about wearing green*

The old version 2 one actually dropped off the boards, and I had to reconstruct it from an old copy of the original version 1.

If anyone has any error corrections or suggestions please let me know.

uh...i look horrible in green upsen..so...uh...can we change it?

didn't think so

Choose a slightly darker green, but not so dark that people can't tell it's green.

Does that make it better? 8)

Try using a pattern instead of a soild green-everything on your upper body... take a look at the samples again, and some of them you'll see are patterned. There's also been some nice examples from other raiders.

purple and green makes me LOOK really bad (being controller AND healer)

Upsen, quick question: I'm building my tanker so he'll have Ring of Fire six-slotted for Hammy so I can help out with the holds. Can I still stick with the Black and Grey costume and then jump with the controllers to hold? Or would I have to switch to a purple costume? Because purple is most definately NOT my color.

Champion-
Flaming Intern/Tanker(main)
The Ice Albatross/Blaster
Apollonius/Controller
Valtrix/Defender
All the tank sets in the Intern variety
Burning Intern/Brute(CoV Main)
And the list goes on...

Purple is a controller colour, so as a melee you won't be wearing purple. You'll be wearing the black/grey of the melees.

There is't a specific color for holds, since there isn't a need to differentiate them for the organizational or mito clearing phases.

However, Ring of Fire is an immobilize power, not a hold power, isn't it? If you ring of fire something, they can still fire back, so it's not technically a hold. Char, on the other hand, is a hold power, where they are completely unable to attack or do anything. So set Char up for six slotting if you want to be a holds character for the hamidon raids.

Just don't stop holding when damage is called, cause it could be your 1 hold that is making or breaking the raid.

While tanking yesterday, me and fayt decided something. The regens are actually not part of melee, I mean, we don't really work with the healing blanket, we watch over the hami's aggro. So we decided there was this:

Blasters, Healers, Controllers and Melee
And of course, the regen which, Fayt and I had decided, will be called Friggin' Hot awesome pimps... or awesomes for short.

SO What do the FHAPs get to wear?

What's rather amusing is that i ended up making a dark grey costume before taking my scrapper on his first raid without being able to find the raid costume thread, and i searched for a while. The choice was due to my own personal color preferences.

Is Petrifying Gaze (2 Acc, 2 Hold Duration, 2 Recharge) useful enough as a hold that i should ask about being part of the holding team during Raids?

It's the main reason i don't hesitate to take on Sappers in regular PvE...
(ToF is the other, but not relevant vs. Hamidon, at least AFAIK.)

Edit: Since i'm also regen, i suppose i should inquire about being part of the tanking team as well... *heh* Swiss Army Scrapper.

Well, hmm.... Red, Blue, Purple, Black, and Grey are out.... so is yellow... guess that just leaves HOT PINK.

Excellent idea, guys. Hot pink costumes, that'll make it REALLY easy to find you if you need a rez.

Good Guys (on Champion)- Starglow, Shining Hope, Dreamheart, Gaelic Rose, Polar Angel, Starlit Knight, Lady Cavalier, Alouette, Sunsoul, Evensong

Bad Guys (on Triumph)- Ms Hap, Pretty-Poison, Wicked Wench, Woe, Technowitch, Grim Fairy, Cryonuclear, Fissionary, Lady Scorned

Since you don't actually interact with the healing umbrella, it doesn't matter what colors you wear technically... But in order for people to see the raid-costumes in action, you should be wearing melee black as well, so that the other raiders can be more inspired to wear the raid costumes. You guys have an important role and eyes will be on you.

You can put a red and white bulls-eye on your chest if it makes you feel better.

Unofficially, a Hot Pink suit is a good idea too, yes, and a wide brimmed hat with an ostrich feather... maybe an afro. straight out of the 70s... Thanks Ladymer for the suggestion.

LOL, The Regen Hammi Pimps!

I can see a mob of hot pink suits with the Fedora hats...

Since Hammi drops me like I'm hot, I think I'll stick with black and Mito killing, thanks...

Ok ya, sounds good Upsen. Hold or immoblilize, I can't tell the difference, I'm a tanker for God's sakes! But it's cool, I was planning on six-slotting Char anyways.

Yes. Better would be more hold and less recharge, but what you have is good enough.

i never looked up the numbers for hold duration and recharge on Petrifying Gaze, so it didn't occur to me that slotting for duration would be more effective.
Eh, it'll take all of 10 seconds to swap in a hold for a recharge; i think i'll give it try for regular PvE as well. Now i just have to make the time to get to a raid.
i blame our group of SG members that makes running missions so much fun. What makes it worse is that several of us have been alternating between our mains and some more RP-focused alts.

Hehe...I'll be charring away...only have it with 4 slots at the moment...2 Hold, 2 acc...but I'm close to 46, so I'll add the slots then. Not to mention char has a "minor damage" added to it. LoL...

Alright, I guess I'll wear red. (Of course, my original costume is green & yellow...but hey what did I know at the time...hehe.)

Brush up on your raid uniforms...

from what i've seen no one wears them anymore, guess it's better to look cool and add to the lag problem.

As much as you and Fayt like to think your beautiful and unique snowflakes ....you ARE indeed part of the melee....and should be fighting with the melee ....a regen is a luxury we use towards the end of the Mitos phase and needed for Hold phase....Which is why you hear me nagging Fayt to get in there and KILL A MITO!

Oh HELL NO....I am NOT wearing hot pink....I don't care if you can't see me. That's why you target through your friends list.

NO HOT PINK.

How about *light* pink.....like blush?

By the way, this sort of thing is why the system is no longer working, and why I no longer actively encourage it.

I'll revise and add to it as the community requests, but I have little or no faith in people willing to adhere to any sort of structured behaviour on Champion, based on my personal experience in the matter.
